Jilek Roofing

I had used him before, some years ago. I looked him up on Angie's List. The owner came out and fixed the roof. I have had no problems with the roof since then. He fixed the same roof, but he charged me more and didn't do as good of a job. The first time, I told him what the problem was, and he did some sealing, but it didn't take care of the leak. He got really upset, because the guy wasn't thorough. He sent him back out. I told him what he'd have to do to fix the leak. He took the hose up there and duplicated the leak. They needed to replace the flashing and some shingles. I don't know if they fixed the problem or not, because there hasn't been any rain. A neighbor saw the work being done, and he said that he was there for a while. I think they were probably successful. I haven't really talked to them since the job. They followed up on the job, and the owner was very serious about the job. I couldn't tell if they had done the work or not. They cleaned up very well. They are responsive.

I have recommended him to others. We signed a contract and when I pointed things that needed to bedone he took care of it.

Ice from winter storms tore gutters from house; Jilek responded within days; provided an estimate, arrived when planned, removed and replaced broken gutters and sealed damaged joints. Also provided estimate for roof replacement. Price very reasonable; workman efficient and professional. I have used Jilek before and will do so again. Thanks Jilek!

Great experience, responsive to my request. Tom showed up right on time and had the job done in a 1/2 hour. Also gave information and pointers on my particular roof and gutters.

We noticed leaks near the roof peak, big leak at the bath fan vent and a piece of wood sheathing broken away. The roof is only 7 yrs old so we didn't expect this so soon. I got the Jilek's name from a co-worker and then signed up for this service/checked them out before contacting them. The original company came out and gave a quote that was 4x higher and he didn't sound as knowledgable as Jilek. My husband had a better feeling about Jim's understanding of roofing in general. Jim came out for the estimate and mentioned several things that were installed incorrectly- zinc strip near the peak, bath fan vent not sealed properly. We wanted a metal bath fan roof vent instead of the flimsy plastic ones so the flapper seats when the fan is off (to minimize heat loss). He planned on providing it and seemed to understand the concept for a piece of 4" duct to extend inside a few inches below the roof line. We planned to have the attic insulated in the future and didn't want to mess with the bath roof vent again. This extension piece was not specifically called out for in the job order. They waited until the roof was dry to do the repairs. My neighbors said they were all over the roof looking when inspecting it. The reapirs were complete except the extension piece was forgotten. My husband spoke to Jim who didn't recall that part of the work. BUT they came back that afternoon and took care of it, without any additional charge. Next time, we will make sure to get every detail in writing for all contractors. The roof doesn't leak anymore. We will use them again. Very reasonably priced and knowledgable.

He was punctual, informative, and helpful. He took care of the ice dam and we discussed what we could do in the future to prevent this from happening again. He also gave us a quote for heat cables (work that we have not yet begun).

Went very well. Punctual, excellent work, completely cleaned up, initial visit was very positive--looked for low-cost, but effective ways to correct problem on main roof, where another roofer had done a poor job, leaving leaks, Conscientious. Happy with work. Had problem next year with leaking. Came back, was very conscientious about investigating the problem, looking for lower-cost solutions, correcting the work (even came in the rain!) and did not charge us for the corrective work!

Jilek Roofing did a complete roof replacement on my home approximately one year ago and has recently done some ice removal work. Jim's service is exceptional! I have a problem with ice build up since this is an older home and not properly insulated (that is next on my list of home repairs :) ) and Jim has helped remove ice from the roof a couple of times this year. His service is prompt and professional, a very nice man to work and the quality of his work is excellent -you could not go wrong in hiring Jilek Roofing for roofing work or ice removal.

They responded to my call quickly and their estimate was very reasonable. I asked if they could do it as quickly as possible since the home was up for sale. They completed the work before they had promised. They cleaned up beautifully and the work was done to my satisfaction.

Our ranch home had an ice dam of of 6-8 inches along our gutters that had accumulated over the winter. We were concerned that the coming thaw might cause interior water damage from melting snow above the dam and that the ice accumulation might bring down our gutters, so I called Jilek Roofing about ice removal. I spoke with Jim Jilek who gave me an estimate and told me he could come out that afternoon. He arrived about 3pm and removed snow above the ice dam and chipped out the ice dam to ensure that that there were channels for drainage. He was very thorough, very friendly and very informative, helping me to understand what corrective measures were needed on the house to prevent future occurrences. He had given me an estimate over the phone which he stuck to even though the job took a bit longer than the outside estimate. I was very pleased with the service provided.

Not all roofers are willing to perform ice removal, so I was very happy to find Jilek. Water was leaking in to one of my bedrooms from an ice dam on the roof above. The leak wouldn't stop unless the ice got cleared right away. The person I spoke to said they had 29 similar calls that day but they would try their hardest to get to me ASAP. They were able to come within two hours! They got right up there and cleared off all the ice, as well as put de-icer down the drainpipe. Thanks to Jilek, the leaking stopped and I could begin cleanup on the interior.

Jim as usual was so tidy I had to look carefully to see the job was done, but there wires were strung. Even after this awful cold spell and the snow this year-- no ice dam!

Jim did an excellent job in difficult circumstances (ice, overhanging trees). I didn't even realize he had been there until I saw the work had been done- that's how tidy he is.

Jim's associate dropped off an estimate, one of three I got, which included shingle samples to select, a sample of the ice guard material and an attractive quote. The other two bids I got required me to be present, which was inconvenient. Jim followed up with a phone call, not pushy, and was awarded the job. His "foreman" showed up the day before the job was to start and did considerable prep work. Their crew finished the project quickly, cleanly, professionally in less than 3 days. I was tremendously pleased, and recommend this company highly.

They were wonderful. They did a great job, and they cleaned up everything after themselves. One guy, in particular, was really nice.

The crew was fine and had finished the job in two full days. It had taken them a while to actually get on the roof, but once they started work everything went great.

I had a terrific experience with Jilek Roofing. They came out immediately to give me an estimate. They knew I was in a hurry to get the job done and they were able to schedule me to best meet my needs. The owner and crew were very friendly and professional. The quality of workmanship was excellent. The clean up was amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again!

Went very well. Mr.Jilek was respondsive and helpful. Arrived as propmptly as possible (worked around our variable weather situation in Cleve.). Did thorough job, cleaned up. When some adjustments were needed (some of shingles were curling), sent someone to inspect, worked around weather, assured us he was coming and that there was no major problem until then. Removed and replaced entire back perimeter of roof and did work over free of charge. Repaired front perimeter shingles as well. Followed up with on-site inspection and left us note that he had done so, with phone nu7mber if problems occurred. None have. Very reassuring and cooperative.

Jilek did exactly what they promised with minimal disruption to our home. The crew was efficient - the job only took two days, then an hour or two the third day for additional clean up. It looks like they did a nice job. The price was exactly what they quoted us, which was competitive with other companies. My only complaint is that neither Mr. Jilek nor his crew were very good at communicating what we should expect as they were working. We were not warned that a large dumpster would be parked in our driveway overnight for 2 nights. I had to ask the crew to move the dumpster to get my car out (they were very nice about it, but I felt bad because it seemed to totally disrupt work). I also didn't realize that the roofing process would knock lots of black dirt into my attic, or I would have covered everything. The result was that I had to spend a day cleaning the attic after they left; most of that work could have been avoided if someone had warned me.

Job was completed to satisfaction. Jilek roofing was exceptional and very professional in all aspects of the experience. I highly recommend them to others who are looking for a roofer.

We had a problem with ice dams causing water to rain in our home. We received 6 quotations to diagnose the problem. Jim's diagnosis and solution made the best sense and with the best price. Because of the weather, our situation was urgent. Because of this urgency, Jim put us at the top of his work list and had his team come out to begin work within a week. Three days of work took 4 days to complete (one day was rained out). His team was very courteous and efficient. They did a great job on the roof and on the cleanup afterwords. The final cost was higher than the original estimate because the gutter and gutter covers were not in the original estimate. Jim's phone and email communications were excellent. All quotations were in writing. Jim said that he upgraded the ice guard and the soffit material at no additional cost from the original estimate because he listened to his team for suggestions based on their experience with materials.

Called company on 9/17/08 talked to man who answered phone, explained I was looking for an estimate on a garage roof at a rental property. He took my information and advised he would have his salesman go by and take a look and call me back with an estimate. I had given him my home phone # (with answering machine) and also my cell phone # (with voice mail) and it is now 10/3/08 and have yet to hear back from the company. Does not look like he wants my business! He could have had the common courtesy to call me back and tell me he was not interesting in doing the job. I will tell all my friends and relatives to never use this company for their roofing needs.

Did job in 6 hours. Cleaned up well after. Good pride neat job.

He returned my calls the next day and came over the day after that. In addition to checking the roof and gutters, he addressed a few other concerns I had with the siding and reinstalled a shutter that had blown off in the wind. This is the second time I've hired him, and I'd probably call him again in the future.
