Jilek Roofing

I used this company on an emergency basis last winter to remove ice from the front roof and gutter area. I was impressed at that time by their prompt and courteous service. I have been considering installing de-icing cables for several years, but hadn't done it. The company did suggest this as an option going forward. When I did make the decision this summer to go forward, it was a no-brainer to call Jilek again to install the cables. I will definitely use them for any other roofing problems in the future.

Jim Jilek came out and bid our roof. His estimate was somewhat lower than even the Amish, but his references checked out and the materials were identical, so we gave him a shot. The crew showed up exactly on time, did an exceptional job, cleaned up well and even hauled away some materials from my basement remodel just because they were headed to the dump. I have subsequently recommended Jilek to my own customers and have had nothing but good reports back. I'm sold.

Since it was a rainy month, it was very understandable that their schedule needed to be flexible. I didn't need to be home at all for them to perform the job but I chose to be. They actually showed up a day early with a 6 man crew because of a break in the weather. They were completed in 6 hours and right before the rain. The crew worked like a tight-knit team. The craftmanship was perfect, they were polite, skilled, and neat. When they left for the day, you couldn't even tell they were there (except for the new roof). They had placed foam rubber and tarps over my hot tub and A/C unit so no debris would damage it. They raked the perimeter with a magnetic rake to pickup any stray nails or objects. I am so glad that I found them on Angies List. I can't wait until spring so that they can finished the other parts of my roof! If you are reading the reviews like I was, look no further - these are the guys to work with.

Went very well. Work done to satisfaction. Assistant installed back diownspout incorrectly and did not allow for proper bend in the gutter to go into downspout, but was quickly remedied when we informed Mr. Jilek. Satisfactory cleanup and follow-through. Later issues during a bad winter necessitated our installing heating cables on Mr.Jilek's recommendtion. They have ben installed by Jilek Roofing, and we will see how they work this coming winter.

I explained that I had an insurance check already. They asked to see the figures of what the insurance appraiser had done. I declined and asked that they just size up the job. They use the satellite method, where the insurance appraiser went on the roof first hand. This led to discrepancies in the project. I asked them to go up on the roof, and it went round and around between me and them. The quote was eventually dropped off in the mailbox 2 weeks later, after a couple calls from me inquiring. I’m now seeking another company.

They were very professional, courteous and responsive. They were knowledgeable about the products and provided good information for my own education and comparison. It was between them and the company that I eventually chose to use. I believe I would have been happy with both options. The reason I did not use them is because I had another reliable and highly recommended company that used the same materials for a about $700 less.

From start to finish we had a very good experience.

They did a excellent job. Arrived at the time they said they woul around 7am and finished around 3:30pm. They called before to arrange a time. Shingles look great. Did a very good job of cleaning up after self. We were very pleased with the job, crew and price. Highly recommended.

At the start, there was misunderstanding as to what was wrong. My laundry room ceiling was leaking. Tom Laba thought that the leak was caused by gaps in the window trim. Therefore, he caulked the gaps and the leaks continued. I thought that he should take a water hose atop the roof and try to recreate the leak. He did and viola, a leak was created. Tom was sure that he knew what was wrong and what needed to be done. Work was eventually performed in November, 2010. However, when we got those torrential rains in early 2011, the leak reappeared. This time it was persistant and it leaked everytime it rained. Prior to then, it was only when there was high winds and rain.

They were prompt, they were done quickly, and they were efficient. I would have them come back.

Overall the job went well on 5/26/11. My biggest complaint was that they replaced the roof on a day when a sudden down pour occurred (not surprising considering this spring) and the roof leaked around the chimney where they were working. Supposedly they put tarp on the area but we had a big wet spot on the ceiling of my garage and some smaller water spots on the ceiling in my laundry room. I called Tom immediately and he did respond within 10 minutes by coming to the house and checking the roofing job and offering to make repairs in the house and garage after all dried out by next Tuesday. And all was repaired and we have not had a problem since. And if I do, I have both of the cell phones of the owners of Jilek roofing to call! And I do not see any further problems. The roof looks great and the team of people were very clean about the job. It has been a difficult spring for roofing companies so I understood and all was made right when the ceilings were repaired.

Arrived as scheduled to provide the estimate, which contained a detailed breakdown of all work to be performed and included information on the materials to be used. The estimate happened to be the lowest of 3 obtained but was the most professionally prepared. The job was delayed for several weeks due to the persistent amount of rain encountered this spring, but I was kept up to date on schedule and notified as soon as an installation date could be finalized. A crew of approximately 8 arrived early (9am) and worked until rain chased them off the roof after 6pm. The job was completed the next day. A couple of small followups were required which were taken care of promptly within a day of job completion. The crew was meticulously neat and courteous and we have yet to find a single nail left behind.

I had a roof leak that had been examined by a number of roofers and contractors who could not locate the source of the leak. I received estimates for replacing shingles over a large portion of the roof at a high cost. Tom from Jilek Roofing took a look at the same leak and diagnosed it right away as a problem with my ridge vent. Only a simple repair was needed, and Jilek Roofing quoted me a very fair price for the ridge vent replacement. Once I decided to go with them, they came out the next day. One month into the repair and I have not had any problems at all. I highly recommend Jilek Roofing.

They came very promptly. They explained everything very well and did a good job.

My gutters were giant blocks of ice and water started leaking into my dining room area because of an ice dam on the roof. Jim Jilek (owner of Jilek Roffing) came out the same day I called.... even though it was Super Bowl Sunday !!! I could not thank him enough. He worked very hard to remove the ice dams from the roof and clear the gutter as well. He made sure the water leak was stopped. I was very very grateful that he came to fix the problem, even though it was a Sunday... and even more unbelievable... that he came on Super Bowl Sunday! I will definitely call him in the future if I need any roof repairs/replacement. (Hopefully, insulating my attic will prevent future ice dams)

I had an emergency because of snow accumulation on my roof, and they took care of that within the hour. They did the work promptly. I paid $135 for the snow removal and $850 for the cables. They were outstanding all the way around. I thought that they were very reasonable. They charged me by the hour, but I do not think they charged me for the whole time they were here. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

1. We called on a Sunday - and Tom called back Sunday evening to schedule the work. We had a lot of snow/melt that had created an ice dam and was melting into the house - dripping down a window. Tom cleared the ice from the troubled gutter area and removed the excess snow from the roof. Now the melting snow had a path in the gutter to drain away and not into the house. Excellent job. 2. On February 28 we had some heavy rain storms. We had several shingles blow off and as a result the heavy rains came into the attic and eventually into our bedroom - at 4AM! Called Tom at 9 and he explained what most likely happend and not to worry. He came out that afternoon - said we needed to replace the shingles and the attic/insulation would dry out just fine. Someone from Jilek replaced the missing shingles the next day - can't even tell that they are new shingles. Again, excellent job.

I've used them before. Their work is consistent and the quality of their work is good. I would recommend them. They are honest and trustworthy.

I called Jim in the morning and he came out in the afternoon to clean off snow and make channels in the very thick ice. He put calcium in the channels to help melt the ice. Hopefully this will avoid problems with leakage into my house. I will have him put electric wires on the roof in spring. He worked for over 2 hours in freezing cold weather.

I called Jim Jilek on Super Bowl Sunday afternoon and explained about my ceiling leak caused by an ice bridge. He said he would check on his crew availability and call me back in fifteen minutes. He called back and said there would be someone there within two hours. The man arrived on time, looked over the situation, took some inside measurements to determine where he thought the problem was and then went to work. We have rather a tricky roof configuration and he chipped the ice out of the areas causing the leak and then made channels for the run off. He did what was necessary and the leak stopped. He also made some suggestions to prevent it in the future and was very professional.

They were excellent. I found them on Angie's List. The workers were excellent and clean. They cleaned up well. There was not a nail or tack found in my yard. They did a total tear off, install and clean up in one day and you would have never known they were here. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again. They were outstanding.
