Description of Work: I contacted CAMPBELL SEPTIC TANK CLEANING 404 Ashwood Ct, Troy, OH 45373 · (937) 339-7547/ 239-7292 when I had been given a scare by another septic service company. We needed expert help and advice from another septic cleaning company after the first company we called scared us and it seemed as though the other company was trying to scam us. Campbell's Septic Service, Inc. saved the day! I believe it would have been great if I had called CAMPBELL SEPTIC TANK CLEANING before I called the other company. I am glad to report that Campbell's Septic Service, Inc. was able to help me find out that the other company was possibly trying to scam me for a large amount of money. The other company came out and within minutes of being at my home the two men that were cleaning the septic system began to try to scare me into thinking that something was horribly wrong with my septic system. They said odd things that did not make good sense due to the fact that there were no problems with the system before they arrived. They tried to put a scare and a rush on me to do the work they said they felt needed done quickly because it would cost more if I did not do the work right away. I immediately put them on hold even though they tried to make it sound as though the work better be done soon or it would cost me more at a later time. I began to call a friend for advice and talked with members in my household. I checked information online and began calling other septic cleaning companies to find out how much they would charge to repair this baffle the other company told me needed replaced or it may fall off. By the way baffles can cost about $40 and can be repaired by a professional for the cost of $275 not $700. I was immediately told by a friend that something did not sound right and it did sound as though someone was trying to scam me. I checked the online information finding that the price I was being told I should be prepared to spend was a ridiculously high price. I heard from Campbell's Septic Service, Inc. getting a quick response from them about how much it would cost if they did the work I was told needed done. I was also told someone from Campbell's Septic Service, Inc. would come to my home that day. The person on the phone could tell I was seriously concerned about this situation. I already felt better knowing that if the work I was told by the other company needed to be done it would cost a lot less to get the repair done by Campbell's. If the repair really needed to be done it would have cost less than half to get it done by Campbell's. When the man from Campbell's Septic Service, Inc. came to our home he took a good look at the Septic system here and he explained things about the system that the other company didn't explain to us. He also assured us that there was not anything wrong with our septic system. He couldn't charge me to do work that didn't need to be done. He was not going to try to pull a fast one to make a fast buck. Even though he had not been able to get work from us at this time he told us the truth rather than use the other person's scam as a way of making money off of us. We insisted on giving him money for the gas it took for him to get to our home. He did not ask for money from us because he felt it would have been dishonest to take money from us since there was nothing that needed repaired. We also appreciated the fact that he took time out of his busy schedule to come see our septic tank when we had been told that there was a problem that needed taken care of right away or we'd have to repair it later paying for another cleaning on top of the new fee the other company was trying to gain from us. What would we do without people like Campbell's?

The Campbell's Septic service team arrived right at the time they said they would and got right to work cleaning out the septic tank. While they worked I had several questions about how the septic functions, and what additional steps we should take to keep it in good working condition. They answered all of my questions clearly and even gave me some additional advice concerning the septic tank, the main line from the house, and how to handle some other plumbing concerns in the most cost effective manner. We had a quote from a different company a while back who recommended a number of system upgrades to the tune of about $8,000. I talked to Campbell's about that recommendation when they were here today and he explained why most of it was unnecessary at all and some of it may be needed in the future but not at this time because the system, though older, is in tact and functioning well. Wow, I cannot believe we even considered spending thousands of dollars on unnecessary upgrades. If and when we need to get more substantial work done on our septic system in the future we will definitely call Campbell's.
