This is the sorriest company I have ever dealt with in my entire 40 plus years. I contracted with this company via an online auction. They agreed to move what was the size of a 2 bedroom house and a pristine sport motorcycle. I talked with the owner/sales rep a number of times prior to the pick up day and to verify when the delivery to the new address would be. The day of the pick up, the representatives of the company, (the men,the muscle), called to say they took a wrong turn on the interstate and were about an hour off schedule. When they finally arrived almost 4 hours after the scheduled time of pick up, they sized up the job and proceeded with the loading of the truck. I questioned the boys (young, both of them, no more than early twenties), a number of times about the motorcycle, it is my pride and joy after all. They said they were leaving it to load last, but it was no problem, they move bikes all the time. They even discussed how nice the bike was and how I would enjoy riding it longer into the season further south. As the truck filled, there were still items in a garden shed to load along with a couple more large bookcases. It was decided that a decision needed to be made about what few more things would fit since the load was obviously more than anticipated. The last few things were loaded along with the bike. They finally loaded the bike and wrapped it with straps in some sort of mummy fashion. Again I questioned them as I have moved bikes and trailered them myself and a four point strap system is all you need. The boys took a break and talked about where to stay for the night and how they had to unload the truck again the next day. They should have sent a third guy with them for this load and on and on. I was in awe as I told them and the owner a number of times that I would not be at the house in SC for two days. The boys called the owner, I tried to call the owner to verify the delivery date and after a few unhappy voice messages, he called me to let me know that since I was holding the boys up for another day, he wanted 500 more dollars for this move, in cash! I expressed my displeasure and was told that since all the items were already in the truck, we could work something out. My house is held hostage in a moving truck and my prized bike. I had to give a cash deposit and the rest to be paid in cash at the other end. Upon arrival in SC, the truck was unloaded and I was to give the code from the online auction for this mover to be paid along with the rest of the cash deposit for the "miscommunication" of the delivery date. The code was given, the cash paid and off the boys went. Here's where it gets ugly. Almost every piece of wooden furniture was scratched, nicked, gouged or damaged in some way. There was a board to connect the bedframe to the headboad, totally broken, missing who knows? The motorcycle was the last straw. This mummification process they did rubbed the bike the entire 9 hour ride to SC. Some of the body work was worn down past the primer. Mirrors, turn signals, windshield, bar ends, all destroyed. I called the owner right away, to which he accused me of lying saying, "how do I know it wasn't like that when we picked it up"? He could not believe his guys would do that, they know how to load a bike etc. After numerous calls, text messages with photos, and emails, the owner finally agrees that, "oh, it looks like my guys didn't know how to load the bike". He asked me to have a bike shop give an estimate to repair it and when he found out how much it would be, he asked me to get my insurance company involved, his liability insurance wouldn't cover that cost he said. His company did the damage, not me, why should I have to get my insurance involved? I reminded him of the instance where he "forgot" the delivery date and wanted cash from me and I was forced to accept his offer. After this, he no longer took my calls, answered emails or text messages on the company phone or his personal cell phone. I have made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and after numerous attempts, he acts as if this is the first he's ever heard of the damage. Still doesn't want to pay anything for the damage his boys did. I have had to pay out of pocket for repairs to the bike for this mess. Would NEVER, EVER recommend this sorry excuse for a moving company to anyone.
