My service from TEAM (They don't just do chimneys anymore) was excellent. Doug and his assistant cleaned and inspected both of my fireplaces and the chimney. Even invited me up on the roof so he could explain some things. Found out that the last owners of my house had a fancy cap that was damaged, and probably did not fix their problems. Gave me some other pointers and an estimate on some longer-term work that should be done to the caps and concrete at the top of the chimney. Came out to around $1200 with some of the work that could be performed by me, but would rather leave it to the professionals. I addressed the immediate issues, and will have them out in the spring to do the remainder of the the work. Great overall experience!

John was on time, very personable and professional. He took care of all of the work I requested and did it quickly. I have since reccomended them to friends that need chimney services.

It went really well. We used a different chimney sweep in the past. They did minimal and left. My husband, in particular is very pleased with the services performed to date by Tiny Tom. Especially the detailed explanations of what was done and why and the communication.

They were prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. Tidy and polite, too. Called for clarification of repair work requested to avoid wasting time and energy.

I phoned Tiny Tom on Friday, October 19th and requested cleaning and inspection. He offered to come the next morning at 9 am. He and his crew arrived on time and were very professional. He offered additional services for our home and advised about proper care and safe operation of the fireplace. We will definitely call him next year to service the fireplace.

September 2010, I had this company out to repair/ rebuild my chimney from the roof up, install new fire brick in the firebox and a chim-a-lator to replace my faulty damper. At that time we had weather coating and water proofing applied to the repair work as suggested as well as the tar pitch resealed. We were told that the weather proofing would last 10-15 years and the water-proofing would last 5-6 years. The work was done to my satisfaction, but they had left a mess consisting of some broken chimney brick and mortar along the back and side of the house. It wasn't too bad, but irked me since I had just refinished the deck and they had dropped old brick onto the deck without protecting it. I cleaned up the broken pieces (enough to fill a small bucket) but tried to overlooked it since the work was satisfactory and the mess manageable. I used them again in 2011 to sweep and inspect the chimney. The men over and hour early, set up protection on my flooring and performed the work quickly and to my satisfaction. I mentioned that we kept smelling smoke (like back drafts) from the chimney even thought the chim-a-lator was fully shut. They checked everything and no faults were mentioned at that time. The price was $15 more than the preceding year, but still reasonable. This past August (2012), I had them out to do another annual cleaning and inspection. The men arrived 30+ minutes late and were not the same as the ones I had dealt with in the past. These two already appeared dirty, walked across my wet lawn instead of using the dry sidewalks and tracked in dirt, leaves, and grass. They did not take as much care with keeping my interior free from dirt when cleaning, putting down what looked like an over-sized black garbage bag not nearly large enough for them and all of their filthy equipment.. At one point they even had a brush come off in the chimney while cleaning it and debated how they were going to get it out. Accidents happen and I felt badly for them, but was still upset about the mess and the original tardiness. What really sent up red flags was that I was told that my weather/ water-proofing and tar pitch all needed repair, for a fee of course, and that there was damage to my fire brick and flooring. He was adamant about the repairs even though I questioned them since they were completed by their company less than 2 years prior. I told him that I would talk it over with my husband and get back to them. I paid and they left. I had to clean the fireplace, its doors, carpeting, and entry door from all the grime they tracked in and through the house. I did not have this problem in the past. Throughout the remainder of August and into September, I continued to get calls from this company about the costly repairs that they claimed needed to be done inside and out. After talking it over, we decided that we would have them complete the tar pitch and we would get a 2nd opinion on the claimed repairs needed inside. The next time that they called I set up an appointment to have only the tar pitch re-sealed. I was told a time and date (Oct 8, 11 am) and that if something should come up and they couldn't make that time, they would call me in advance. The time and date arrived.... no repairmen, no call. I waited for over an hour before I gave up.. Close to an hour and a half later I get a call stating that they and quot;weren't sure what workand quot; I was having done and that they and quot;wanted to do the interior and exterior work together to avoid trips from Toledo to Defianceand quot;. Feeling like I was being forced into a and quot;pressure sale,and quot; being promised a discount if I had both done in one day and after being told that they weren't coming, I quickly got off the phone. After my experiences with this company this year I will NEVER use them again. They did not appear professional, the workers looked like ex-cons, and I don't like having to clean up after or be lied to or misled by my repair men. I have no trust in this company and do not recommend them to anyone.

It was great. Very friendly and paid close attention to all details. He showed me inside the chimney and made sure I understood everything that was happening. I am not familiar with chimneys or the maintenance cycle and he gave me several tips to make sure I could take care of it after he left. I was very impressed with his attitude and the overall experience.

They did a good job, and I would use them again.

It was good. They were friendly and on time. They made sure that they covered everything before they did the chimney sweep. They didn't dirty my floors or furniture. They were fast. They came in, did their job and left. I have had prior experience with them too.

Two young men worked very hard and to my satisfaction. They climbed ladders unlike two other contractors who were going to rent scaffolds which doubled the price. I was very pleased with their work.

This job went smoothly from start to finish. The job was weather dependent, as were all of his jobs, but he kept me informed as to when he could get here. Good quality, dependable, and very informative.

TINY TOM was very knowledgeable the second time they came to fix the damges they had caused in the first place. The guy was very apologetic and knowledgeable. Those damages though were bad in the first place though.

Extremely knowledgeable and professional. He not only cleaned and inspected the chiminey but told us a lot of things we didn't realize with respect to operating the fireplace. For example, without glass doors on our fireplace the heat would be sucked out of the room and drawn out the chiminey, rather than pushed into the room. Also, how to avoid those nasty soot stains up the wall over the fireplace from adding too much material when starting the fire. We're glad we had the inspection done because he caught two items that the home inspector had missed, which could have caused a fire inside the wall had we not had it corrected. We'd recommend him to anyone.

Great experience overall. Al showed up on time and was very professional. He took his time explaining how to safely use the fireplace and went the extra mile to help remove some beads my two-year old had pushed into the gas starter valve. I use Tiny Tom for all my service needs going forward and I would recommend them to anyone who asked. Thanks Al.

Provided phone estimate over phone. Work was completed the following day on schedule and on estimate.

Gave phone estimate which did not agree with final price. However, we do have a two story with dormer and estimating without seeing the house may have been the reason for the discrepancy. Did not do the work until I gave approval. Because of the heat, worker chose to return the following day to complete the gutter cleaning. Upon completion, I noticed that worker had left behind several buckets which someone came out for the following day (after I called).

Called on Thursday for an estimate, price was "about $89" on the phone, based on my description of the house and their knowledge of the area. They arrived for the appointment on time, but the price went up to $150. I said, "thanks but no thanks." I usually get this work done for about $75.

The men were very unprofessional in their demeanor and used cheap scare tactics to try and scare me into spending an additional $600 in services. I have since had another chimney cleaning company out who discounted most of what this company had proposed. They even told me that they would make a record of my chimney and in the event of a fire my insurance company would not pay for damages. Further, they spent less than 20 minutes here, charging $100 for basically only vacuuming out the fireplace, something I could have done myself. Stay away from this dishonest company!
