They had what I wanted at the store. They delivered it and hooked it up. It was pretty good. It is still working. I haven't had any problems with it.

The mattress was purchased online the week before. At the time the order was submitted, I was permitted to specify the delivery day. I selected 9/4/2012 as we were anticipating the arrival of a friend's teen age daughter that would be staying with us until her parents could relocate to the area. The date was set and as the delivery day approached, I received emails stating the delivery would be on the date I chose. Our friend's daughter arrived the day before and we let her know a new mattress would arrive the following day. On the day of delivery, early in the morning, we received a telephone call informing us the mattress could not be delivered as promised. We were instructed to call Sears for additional information. I called customer service. I explained to the rep we had arranged the delivery date to coincide with the arrival of our temporary house guest. I also explained I had taken time off of work to facilitate this delivery at the specified block of time. She listened, but offered no solution other than a delivery on the following day. I again stated I took time off of work for this delivery and would have to make arrangements again for the new date. I also expressed changing the delivery on the morning of the expected date was unacceptable. I requested the shipping charges get waived. She countered with an offer of a Sears gift card in the amount of $25 to be emailed (my choice) to me. Unfortunately, that email containing the credit never arrived. Again, I find this failure to follow through on what they say unacceptable. The mattress did arrive on the rescheduled day. There were no issues with the delivery and set up.

We put a fridge on layaway that was on sale July 5th. We told them we were closing on a house but didn't have a firm date and they said we would only need to call about 3 days in advance to schedule a delivery date. We contacted them on July 13th and requested they delivery it on July 18th. They informed us that they had sold out of all the stock and we would have to wait until the item was replenished on July 30th. They told us people usually leave items on layaway for up to 8 weeks so even though we had put $270 down on the fridge we would have to wait. We set up a delivery time from 6-9 pm on July 30th. We received a call on Sunday, July 29th stating our fridge would be there between 12-2 p.m. We called and told them that was unacceptable as we would be at work and they guaranteed us a delivery after 5:30. They never showed up at all on the 30th! We called that evening and again they set up a delivery on Tuesday after 5:30 p.m. Once again a no show! We called and they gave us a different answer this time: "The Wharehouse doesn't do evening deliveries". We have no idea why they guaranteed this in the first place.They said they make deliveries when their truck in in our area. We ended up receiving the fridge on August 2nd after they had an outside company delivered it. They ended up giving us $160 off but for a family of four with a small child and an infant to be without a fridge for 2 weeks was unacceptable. The attitude you got when you call their customer service number was awful and not one of them would let you speak to a supervisor.

We purchased a dishwasher from Sears, on Central Ave in Toledo, Oh. My husband brought the dishwasher home and was going to install it himself. He decided not to install the dishwasher and called Sears to explain and set an appointment for them to install. The appointment was made for 06-07-12 at approximately 1pm. The amount was $139.99 and was taken from our account right away. On the morning of 06-07-12 I called to verify the time. The operator told me "No Contractor had picked up the bid yet". She said she thought the problem was because it did not list where they were to pick up the dishwasher. I said "You mean to tell me that you made an appointment with us, took our money right away and you didn't even have anyone to complete the service?" She replied "well, that's not necessarily true". (Well, that's what it sounded like to me!) She then said it appeared some one could complete the service the next day, I informed her I would be at work. Then they wanted to set the appointment for the following week, I said we were to be on vacation. Finally she said the contractor was checking to see if they could complete the service that day and some one would be getting in touch with me. No one ever contacted me that day! Not only did I not get my dishwasher connected but it ruined my day by having to stay around the house to be "contacted", only to be "stood-up" again! I will be contacting them this morning to get my $139.99 back and WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN APPLIANCE FROM SEARS AGAIN!!!
