No problems at all. Some exterior work slightly delayed by very cold winter weather but accomplished to my satisfaction. Excellent communication. Excellent cooperation with me and tenants. Cost? I've used Jacob's Ladder for prior rental property repairs and for repairs to my residence. For this type of work I no longer seek comparable quotes because, after several jobs, I'm confident that Jacob and Mike offer a fair cost, quick response and quality work. Jacob's Ladder has become my default "go-to" for maintenance and repairs to my residence and rental properties.

I felt that Jacob was a little overpriced for what I wanted done. He said this is due to his subcontractors being more expensive than other companies. I realized that in calling him, and assuming he was a small business, I was going to get a lower price that was in line with my teacher salary budget because of the middle man costs not being a factor. I can't comment on his quality of work, but I see that other reviews state this company does good work. I just see that a cost that was more than a 3rd of other qualified contractors with good ratings just didn't make sense. He made a comment about not wanting to be the cheapest and he did say that he didn't want to be rude, so even though I was offended that he would think I was picking poor contractors when they all have good ratings/reviews and were recommended by customers in the area; I understand his rates are his rates. So, for anyone in my position (limited budget); I would not recommend as his price is much higher than other area contractors with great reviews.

The gentlemen from Jacob's Ladder worked with a snake to fix the problem, but, in the end couldn't clear the pipe -- which evidently was frozen solid exiting the house. Because they couldn't actually help (and because the owner was the responder), I wasn't charged for the service call, which was greatly appreciated. They recommended a plumber they've used on jobs, Drain Master (also well-rated on Angie's list), who had a more robust "snake." Another diligent attempt, but the gentleman from Drain Master also couldn't clear the problem -- evidently there was too frozen water in the pipe to cut through. Both companies were professional, responsive, and tried hard to clear the problem, but I'm simply going to have to wait for things to thaw out. Because the gentleman from Drain Master works for a company and is not the owner, I was charged their minimum fee, which was understood up front. Once things thaw and I can actually drain the tub without, hopefully, more leaks, I plan on having Jacob's Ladder return to fix the kitchen ceiling that was damaged by the leak and to do some other minor work on the house as well.

They arrived on time and completed the protect on time. The project began with the removal of some debris and leveling of the ground. Old fiberglass insulation had to be removed and new Styrofoam insulation installed. There was new plastic sheeting laid on the ground surface. The new plastic covered the entire crawlspace ground surface and the joints were taped. A register was cut into the furnace duct to provide conditioned air into the place and the vents were all seal up. Upon completion it was noted that the vents were not sealed properly and they needed to return to correct this. They did return and the situation was properly corrected. The register needed added sealing material to seal the area around the edges to the duct which I corrected to my satisfaction.. Over all i was satisfied with the job and would recommend Jacob's Ladder as a reliable and fair home improvement contractor.

The workers were on time, courteous and cleaned up after every day. Work was completed in time frame we were told. Had one small issue that was resolved within 2 days of contacting Jacob. Everything turned out beautifully, could not be happier. Jacob always responded to any questions we had, even on weekends. We would highly recommend Jacob's Ladder to family and friends.

Jacob was able to straighten out the fascia piece and re-install it. It looks great! You have to look closely to notice it was bent. This is the 2nd time I have called them for this same type of repair and both times they did a great job. I will definitely call them again when I need a job done right and at a good price.

Jacob?s ladder was excellent! Since I am moving soon, I was a little "high maintenance", because I kept asking over and over for extra things for them to do (not specified in the contract), but they did them all with patience and responsiveness. The remodeling did not include the cost of the new appliances (frig, dishwasher, oven/range, and microwave) for the kitchen ($3,900) and the kitchen cabinets ($10,000). Overall, this was an excellent experience. The kitchen is awesome. Do not look for another contractor- you have found the best in Jacob's Ladder. Sounds like an advertisement, but it is all true. The only thing negative I would say would be it took longer than I expected. Then again, time is not a big deal when you get quality work at a reasonable price from someone you can trust.

Due to bad weather job was a little late since some work was on roof but very good expirience and very nice to work with, I was very please with the men who came into our home, the worked hard and left no mess at all,

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate on tile work. Visit was scheduled promtly. The day of the appointment was bad weather so I got a call saying Jacob would be late and that he would call me when he was on his way. Jacob never called and did not show up. I never received a call from the company explaining his absence.

We have used Jacob's Ladder twice and plan to use them again in the near future for a renovation project. The first time we used them was for a renovation project that involved installing a new exterior door and paneling in our basement hall and stairwell. Jacob's Ladder was prompt, the work was completed in one day and the results were great. We used Angie's list last year to get four different quotes for all of our remolding projects that we have planned. Jacob's Ladder and two of the other three companies were within a 300-400 hundred dollars of one and other so I felt confident that we were not being taken advantage of. This February we had problems with an ice dam causing a leak in our ceiling. I went to Angie's list to find roofers and again Jacob's Ladder came up. They were able to come out on the same day that we called them and took care of the ice dam and the leaking stopped. Thank you Jacob's Ladder and thank you Angie's list! In the past it has been very difficult for us to find contractors who actually showed up to do the work and in whom we could be confident would do a good job.

They were very professional and did a great job. I would recommend them to everyone and I will use they again if the need arises.

After contacting Jacob's Ladder, about a week or so later Jacob came out for an estimate for a bathroom remodel. He was very thorough with his notes and had many great ideas for the project. It took around a week or so to get the official quote but everything looked good on it. Due to the popularity of Jacob's Ladder the leadtime on the project was going to be quite a few weeks away, and we were fine with the wait. The wait did grow in time and eventually the project was moved into this year (2014). Once the work began things moved along a brisk pace. The crew was very professional and very good about cleaning up after themselves and taking care to not damage anything else in the house. A massive snowstorm delayed the project by a day, but the crew worked a long Saturday to get back on track and to complete the job on time. With our project it was the only bathroom in the house, so the crew was very good about resetting the toilet before they closed up each day. The crew was very good about explaining the work to be done each day, and were also good about asking questions about how we wanted something to look or where it should go. Overall, we were very impressed with the finished product and the quality of the work performed.

It went well. They are very trustworthy.

The only hiccup occurred when the electrician missed the call to come in and move the wiring. Over all everything looks fantastic! Jacob will be doing our kitchen remodel mid March, first of April. By the way Jacob did make it right for the delay. I would have no reservations with referring him to any one.

They picked up the cabinet for us, installed the cabinet and completed and cleaned up very promptly. They were very professional and pleasant. They really knew what they were doing. We are definitely looking forward to working with them in the future. Thanks to Angie's List for the reviews to point us to them!

I'm very happy with Jacob's work. His team his very professional and timely. I'm more than satisfied with the work. I have also had Jacob's Ladder do a complete bathroom remodel for me and I was very happy with that outcome also. Work is completed in the time frame stated and is very professional.

hey were very professional and thorough with their initial inspection and estimate. The gentleman that did the inspection and estimate found a couple of additional places (beyond what I had initially called about) that needed to be replaced, which I certainly appreciated. The 2 gentlemen who actually did the work were efficient and very neat, leaving no trace that they had been onsite doing work (other than the repaired siding). The work was well done, with all of the boards cut accurately and seams thoroughly caulked. The only thing that was less than stellar in my mind was the lack of communication between the time the estimate was provided and when the work was actually done. The only contact I had with them was in response to my email to them inquiring as to when they expected to do the work (about 1 month after the estimate) and a call the night before they did the work asking if it would be OK to do the work the following day. Though less contact than I would have preferred, it is really a pretty minor point, especially since this was a pretty small job. I would definitely use them again.

As previously stated, the estimate was very thorough and provided plenty of details on what services they were going to provide. The estimate was wrote very professionally. The amount of the services was the going rate. Estimates were as follows: Side door replacement (with option to have them paint it) = $695 Front Door (double doors) = $1995 Drywall = $475 Job was estimated to take 2-3 days.

The owner actually came out on my job. He replaced the faucet with a nicer one than I had and I he also added the little sprayer nozzle which never worked since I've lived in the house. And to top that off, he made sure my piping was good, of which it was not but it is now! :) It also came with a 1 year workmanship warranty and that was definately nice. I haven't had any problems since install.
