Grounds One

Went very well. Haven't had a heavy rain yet, but it is guaranteed for a year. They've done other work for me and I have been very satisfied with it.

We thought the cost a little high, but they exceeded our expectations. It was money well spent and delivered as we expected. Every little detail was done to perfection. They were completely professional, trustworthy, and did a great job of communicating from the start. This was very impressive. Our initial quote was detailed, including options for which we could take over some of the work ourselves. We chose to have them complete from start to finish. They were up front about the wait, but at no time did we feel forgotten, we corresponded by e-mail after that and they were prompt in their responses. When it was our turn they started the job and stuck with it until it was completed. . Their crew is very good and their work was excellent. Very very happy with the results. Very satisfied with the experience and worth the cost as it has been done right! Will definitely use again. Worth the wait .

Workers were very professional and cordial regarding job. They work continuously on a very warm day. All aspects of the job ran like clockwork. The dumpster arrived and roof supplies arrived within an hour of each other. Casey was a great supervisor on the job. He worked with the other workers. The tear-off, install, and clean-up was fantastic. i have scheduled a few other jobs with Jacobs ladder. Mike was very helpful in calling prior to install and picked up extra supplies the same day when job concluded.

It went great! I was out of town and gad the goalofgetting it done while I was away. They worked with my daughter to schedule the installment and do the work.

Everything went well. They arrived on time, workmanship was excellent. They had to build a whole new door jamb because they replaced a bi-fold door with a six panel door. They did a beautiful job! They even drilled a hole for me out on my deck so I could hang plants and didn't charge me any extra. Good, friendly, professional service.

I first received a return call from Mike, as to when Jacob could come out. They were prompt and easy to work with. I actually have had them out twice. The first time was for a leak in the roof. Jacob walked the roof, determined where he believed the leak was originating, fixed that, then called my attention to two other potential problems, which he was able to repair at the same time. All this for one third the cost of a competitor (who did not even go up to the roof.)

Jacob's Ladder did an excellent repair. Chris was polite and punctual.

At first I thought things were going well. It took about 3 weeks and one re-schedule to get (Mike?) out here, but once he was here I was impressed with his overall knowledge. He took measurements, pictures and when he left I never heard from him again. That wasted over a month of my planning. This company doesn't seem to need the business! If they can't follow-up on a quote, I use that as an indicator of the type of service I can expect. I'm glad I ended up choosing Midwest Contracting.

They were professional and did a great job.

Dealing with the company went well. Good price and service. The crew was on time, went right to work. Job was done and clean up was all good. Nice job!!

Mike did not seem a bit concerned that they could not give an estimate any earlier than 3 weeks.

Overall, the project went very well. We did have a bit of a wait for the start date-but we understood that a busy company is a good sign. Bob and Jeff were very conscientious workers. They did not rush through skimping on quality or overlooking the fact that one of our exhaust fans was merely venting in the the ceiling. They made obvious efforts to keep things as clean as possible. We were also very comfortable having them in and out of the house for so many days. The job was estimated to take 2 and a half weeks but actually took 5 weeks to the final completion. In my opinion, the unexpected issues could have caused an extra week, but the rest of the delay was more likely just an underestimation of Jacob in how fast the guys could work. We are very happy with the outcome and would use them again. I just would definitely be better prepared for a longer construction time than anticipated.

When he showed up for the estimate the discussion was good. I haven't heard anything back!

The workmanship was good. I provided the fan, they provided the vent and the labor. I was pleased with the work they did. They made a small error is cutting and told me about it so I was ok with that. I did have to ask them to replace the insulation in the attic when they were done which I would have thought was part of the deal. Overall, very good company to do business with and I would absolutely use them again.

Took a while for them to get back to me for an appointment then Jacob's Ladder had to postpone our appointment after making it. When they did show up, they were very nice and I believe thorough. I was given a price of approximately $6,000 for some work. I checked around and found a handyman to do the work for much, much less. I do believe that Jacob's Ladder is a good company and I believe he would stand behind his work but his prices are out of line as far as I am concerned. If you have a very expensive home, I believe he would be more in line for pricing.

It was a rocky start, but things went ok

Faucet great, shingles fine, window leak still leaks when the rain is severe. Bathtub tiling work was ok. This is where I was most dissatisfied. Larger tiles were suggested. But the installer, after already installing the larger tile suggested that smaller ones should have been used because of the age of my home and alignment. Smaller tiles would not have created as severe/odd gaps. I wish I had been advised before the install. I would have been happy to waited and exchange the larger tiles for smaller ones if the install would have looked better. I also had to follow-up call the provider to secure a work date. I felt that the provider should have tracked the job more effectively. Not sure I was a priority for the provider.

The men worked in summer heat over 100 degrees but did a very professional job. The front door had been torn off by renters and the framing and woodwork were severely damaged. The new door was special ordered since it was an odd size but they shopped all over town to get one in as quickly as possible. The roof was on the south side of the house so those poor guys cooked. They did a great job and cleaned up perfectly. Everyone I dealt with was polite, pleasant and professional.

I live in a condo so I had to go with someone else but he was very kind. I ended up having him do some plumbing for us which was okay.

I have had them out twice and they did a very good job on both times. They built a garden thing for me in the past. They were excellent and easy to work with. They kept in correspondence with when they were going to be able to come or not. I would recommend them to my friends and family members. I was very happy with their price but of course I wanted it to be cheaper. They did a lot of work within the time that they were here for a fair price and their professionalism was great.

They are excellent and I would recommend them.

We had started the kitchen remodel with another contractor which just did not work out. I had seen the review for Jacob's Ladder and we contacted them. They provided an estimate and gave us an approximate date. The work started within a day of the approximate date they had provided. Bob and Jeff did an incredible job of finishing the remodeling work in the kitchen and all finish work on cabinets, floors, doors, door frames, etc. Bob and Jeff were extremely knowledgeable and talented. We sought their advice and they made valuable suggestions and provided alternatives. They were prompt, worked hard throughout the day, cleaned the place spotless after each day's work, and did incredible work. When the weather cleared, Chris and Jason came and id the roof repairs. They needed to correct an area around the chimney and re-roof a patch that had wind damage. They resolved an issue that we had paid to have repaired at least twice; now thanks to Chris and Jason it is truly repaired. Very pleased with service. Invoice was sent after all work was completed. I had read the reviews about Jacob's Ladder and remembered that one reviewer said they were so good that he didn't want everyone to know so that he didn't have to wait when he wanted their services again. I feel the same way. They are first rate and will be the ones we call for any type of repair - Jacob's Ladder is worth waiting to have for your home repairs!

The provider was very punctual and professional. The pricing was very competitive as well. We were not ready to have the work done at that time.

It took a bit to get the complete written estimate ( Jacob on vacation); but once I had everything on paper, I was able to set a timeframe with Jacob and Mike to complete the work. I was given a time window when to expect them and it was adhered to. When a delay was encountered on day two, I received a phone call and was told what happened and who would be coming to do the work. Chris and Jason arrived on time and completed the job in no time at all. They were very professional and cleaned up their mess with sweepers and vacuums. My floor and counters were very clean. Mike stopped by for a check on the work and then helped load up and haul away my old appliances. This work was not in the original estimate, but they did do this for me. SO THANKFUL FOR THAT. I was very satisfied with the professionalism I received from Jacob's Ladder. Chris and Jason worked very well together and finished the work in a timely matter. Jacob and Mike were in constant communication with me before and during this entire process. The only issue I had was one of the workers coming to my door with a cigarette in his mouth. I asked him to please put it out as I can not have smoke in my house for health reasons. He complied, issue resolved. I am so glad I found Jacob's Ladder here on Angie's List. I look forward to working with them in the near future for my next project!

Jacob promptly visited and quoted the jobs we asked about. After our acceptance the work was performed just as quoted. One contractor did show up several hours early one day without a courtesy call which caused some unwanted inconvenience. Definitely NOT a deal breaker though. We were very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to have Jacob's Ladder return to quote future jobs. The date shown is approximate.
