Specific performance on original contract July 2015 we contracted with Carpets Beautiful by Robin to replace flooring throughout my dads entire house. The work started in August with nothing but problems from people not showing up as promised to complete the job to individuals employed by Carpets Beautiful showing up under the influence of alcohol using table a table saw or something of that nature to complete the trim work. It was discovered in August that the installers had ruined the door jams by cutting them up too high in all of the rooms that the tile flooring was put in. An insurance adjuster came out to look at the problem and we had our own person provide a quote for the repairs which total over $3200.00 In addition to finding two spots where the tile is cracking from being installed incorrectly. Instead of leveling out the floor with new sub floor the installers used cardboard as a quick fix. With that said we are not without a manufacturers warranty because the floor was installed incorrectly. We were told on October 21, 2015 that Carpets Beautiful would be out on Monday, october 26, 2015 to repair the flooring in the kitchen and foyer. As of today, December 11, 2015 no one has shown up at the house or called to let us know when they would be there. However, a phone call came from their insurance company asking us to file a claim against our homeowners insurance for the damages to the door jams. Which is utterly absurd as this is there problem not ours and should not be our responsibility to file a claim through my deceased fathers homeowners insurance.

Performance of orginal contract - service not as promised In mid-July of this year, we contracted with Carpets Beautiful to do the floors in my house as well as my fathers. Prior to the work beginning on Monday, July 27, 2015. My husband made several phone calls to Carpets Beautiful expressing concerns about the height difference with the new flooring in comparison to what was currently in and our refrigerator. He was concerned once the new floor was in the refrigerator would not fit. He was told by George, one of the owners that they have been doing this for over 20+ years and they know what they are doing. Concern was also brought to both George and John about the variances of the tile in the kitchen, entryway in comparison to the dining room and living room and whether or not a new sub floor would be needed. Once again he was told their installers knew what they were doing and what they would need to do. Another phone call was made by husband inquiring whether or not we should move the appliances and again we were told they knew what they were doing and not to worry. On the day of installation, I was told by the installers they were unable to move the refrigerator that they were going to put the flooring flush to all of the appliances. This was not discussed prior to installation and is not something we would have agreed to. The lack of communication and lies from the owners of this organization are unbelievable. Not to mention, one of the owners insulting and attempting to bully me in my own home both in person and over the phone are unbelievable. Once the flooring was completely installed, we started having issues with it coming up at the seams in all of the rooms most predominantly the living room and dining room. It was a fight to the point of getting the manufacturer involved before they would correct the problem. There was a 1/2" gap between the rooms causing the tile to buckle. Not to mention the original installers used cardboard boxed to level the floors off because they were not given the proper materials to lay the floor correctly. The installers removed our baseboards, left them outside in the rain and they were also ruined. One of the owners told me they would give us new baseboards but that we would have to get them stained, cut and put in ourselves in addition to laying the quarter round ourselves. That is not what was agreed on when the original agreement was signed. That was Carpets Beautiful responsibility to install the quarter round. Once the floors were finally fixed in the living and dining rooms, it was discovered the portion of floor behind my couch was not finished and I was told by John that he was unsure how to even fix it and that I should call him when the time came to move my furniture. It is less than six months since installation and I am having the same problems in my hallway and kitchen that I had in the other rooms. We paid over $4,000.00 for an embarrassing, shotty floor installation that is still not completed and continues to fall apart.
