After several mowings, we were increasingly unhappy with the service. They did not mow often enough (requiring collection of clippings), ran over the edge of shrubbery beds, and left several unmowed swaths. However, the worst aspect of the service was that they dumped a pile of grass clippings at the curb. After the first incident, we called and insisted that they come and remove the pile. Their excuse was that the grass would be picked up with the dead leaves. We informed them that, not only do we NOT have enough leaves to rake to the curb for pick up, the inclusion of grass clippings in absolutely forbidden in our town (Perrysburg, Ohio - a close suburb of Toledo). After a couple of days , they picked up the clippings. On November 7, after 12 days away from home, we returned to find another large pile of grass clippings at the curb between our property and our neighbor's property. This very large pile was obviously the remnants of at least two mowings since the lower level was moldy. We immediately called and received the same response about leaf pick up. We discontinued the mowing service on the spot. As my husband was finally bagging the pile of clippings himself, our neighbor told us that she had warned the mowers not to dump clippings at the curb and that they would not be included in the leaf pick up. Cleaning up after these guys is more trouble than mowing the lawn ourselves.
