Description of Work: The work did begin on time but a 3 week job turned into a 6 month headache. Our windows did not match the sample given. When we asked for damaged wood to be replaced, no one returned for weeks. We are not picky and seldom complain but the work was so sloppy we couldn't stay quiet. We felt they were just delaying so we would become tired of waiting. Each time we made a walk around, I constantly had to point out panels or trim that needed replaced. It was as if they didn't want it to be finished and yet the workmanship on replacing the stucco panels was not to my expectations. Just kept on dragging it out. Even the people doing the work were getting tired of coming back out. Never said anything, but you could tell by the expressions. Had a second contract for a Pella back door slider. They never did order, although asked time and time again. Finally agreed to cancel the door as this was taking so long and the cost kept rising with each time I had to point out another problem either with the work or the lack of work performed. We definitely will check more thoroughly next time and certainly not contact this contractor. We used them because our neighbor had hired them. It turns out he was unsatisfied also for the same reasons. Needed to take more time to get referrals and look at other work they had done. Vice president an I talked at length and we both agreed that the crew for the windows was not suited for the panels and trim that needed replaced. He made sure that Arnolds's stands behind their products and they will address any issues I have. I have adjusted my review. My review is based on the crew as to the quality, responsiveness, and professionalism, not Arnold's.

Response from Arnolds Home Improvement
I would like to thank (Member name removed) for his review and express my sincere apologies for his less than favorable experience. Many times, it is only from us being informed of a customer’s dissatisfaction with their service that we can be aware of it. In (Member name removed) case, we were aware of the problems encountered on his job, but because of the extent of what we did to make up for his problems, we were under the impression that when all was said and done, he was a satisfied customer. This is especially given the fact that over a year and a half ago, when we finished his job; he signed a form that specifically states: “Customer agrees with invoice amount due & is satisfied with the quality of service & workmanship.” Until (Member name removed) posted his review on Angie’s List; over a year and a half after the completion of his project, he never contacted us to express his dissatisfaction in any way, shape or form. While I appreciate forums such as Angie’s List being available for customers to share their experiences, I also wish, in (Member name removed) case, that he had at least contacted us to express this dissatisfaction, as he should most certainly know that we are a company that cares about him being a satisfied customer and that we do everything in our power to make up for any problems a customer may experience. That is what sets us apart from most of our competition; not that we never make a mistake, but what we do on those rare occasions when we may make a mistake. In (Member name removed) case, we not only took care of all issues on his specific project, but, because of his inconvenience in how long his project took and the problems that he had encountered, we also went ahead and painted his entire front of his home for free; thus providing a service for free that would’ve normally cost well over $2,500. Unfortunately, (Member name removed) failed to mention this in his review. Once I became aware of (Member name removed) unhappiness with our company, which came about upon reading his review on Angie’s List, I called him and we spoke at length. Of course at that time I apologized and I felt that he was agreeable to giving us another chance to show him how our company really operates, should he ever have another home improvement project come up. That offer still stands and I hope (Member name removed) does indeed consider us in the future. He himself stated that his “review is based on the crew as to the quality, responsiveness and professionalism, not Arnold’s.” While we, as a company, take full responsibility for the actions (or non-actions in this case) of our crew, and in no way use a crew’s poor performance as an excuse, we also have very high standards that we clearly communicate to our crews and if and when a crew fails to meet those high standards, we terminate our relationship, which is exactly what we did with this particular crew; specifically because of their performance on (Member name removed) project. There were other issues mentioned in (Memeber name removed) review and those issues have been addressed as well. Once again, as I’ve stated here and on the phone recently with (Member name removed), I apologize for his experience with our company and promise that not only did we take the corrective measures of terminating the crew that worked on his project, but that we would welcome the opportunity to prove to him that we are indeed the company that provides the quality and commitment to 100% customer satisfaction that he thought he was contracting with when he first hired us for his project. Mike Marchant Vice President, Arnold's Home Improvement
