"The truth is that 3 years ago on November 29, 2014 we cleaned this sewer and did a sewer camera inspection. We found many problems with the sewer line and strongly recommended a sewer replacement to prevent future back-ups but the customer declined. Since 2014 we have been called for additional cleanings for sewer back-ups and each time told this customer that his sewer needed replaced due to breaks in the line, but the customer declined every time. The men cleaning this sewer are not inexperienced at all, they have over 20 years of experience in cabling, jetting and repairing sewers and who's work is always inspected and approved by city inspectors. They are very experienced, they know what they're doing and are very good at what they do. We did not blow the cap off in the crawl, it rotted off, allowing feces to dump into the crawl space that smelled up the home. Since this customer has declined all our recommendations to replace this deteriorating, broken, rotting sewer line, our men had to go through feces covering the crawl space floor to replace the rotted off cap with a new one. We did NOT give an estimate to remove the feces out of the crawl. We are not a clean-up company that does do that kind of work. We are a licensed, insured and bonded plumbing and sewer contractor that repairs the plumbing and sewer problems that cause these situations. This customer has known about the breaks in his sewer line for years and will continue to have back-ups until he has it replaced. This customers comments are not at all true, including the amount charged. The last visit we cabled his sewer multiple times, then high-pressure water-jetted it 10-12 times just to get it open and then did a camera inspection that he wasn't charged for and again restated the need to replace the sewer line. The bill should have been well over $800 for the time spent to get his sewer open again that was packed with feces and mud and the equipment used, but was charged half that at $425.00. This is the truth."
"The ONLY work done for this person at this address was done on August 15 & 16, 2002 - Again, 2002 - fifteen (15) YEARS AGO - no work since. He states work completed 1-30-17 - not true. Every problem that occurred is the result of dirt getting into an 800 foot water line. The customer installed 600+ feet of his own water line, he hired us to install about 20% of line or about 75-100 feet of the water line. The customer called us on August 1, 2002. The job was to install an underground water service line and meter pit approximately 800' from the road to the home. His original estimate was $6800.00, labor and material for Alternative Plumbing to do the entire job. A few days later, he called our office stating HE would be installing approximately 600'+ of water line from the road to the edge of his driveway to save money and wanted to know how much that would reduce the estimate. We reduced the estimate by $4,405.00. The revised estimate was $2,395.00 (not $3700 as he has stated) for Alternative Plumbing to install 75-100' of his line using OWNER-SUPPLIED water line. If Alternative Plumbing would have done the entire job including our material, we would have used a 1000' roll of SEAMLESS 2" SDR9 plastic requiring no couplings or connections. Instead, what did happen is he purchased his own SDR9 in 3 SEPARATE ROLLS requiring couplings and fittings to make his connections, allowing opportunities for dirt to enter the water line. The water line material we use is not only seamless but also heat-fused at the ends that prevents dirt from getting into the water line. The water line HE WANTED USED FOR OUR PORTION OF THE WORK WAS LEFT OVER FROM WHAT HE USED. He clearly stated he was trying to save money and only wanted us to use the material he provided. He repeatedly asked about blowing dirt out of the lines. It is clear now why he repeatedly asked about blowing dirt out of the lines as HE KNEW he had gotten significant amounts of dirt in the lines he installed, but never told us. We have installed hundreds and hundreds of Water Services over the years and inspected by the jurisdictional inspectors. We are licensed, bonded, insured and well qualified and experienced in exactly this type of work. Not only do residential and commercial customers hire us to install Water Services but City's and County's hire us to install Water Services as well because they know our work. Had Mr. [Member Name Removed] been honest with us and told us he had gotten significant amounts of dirt in the lines HE INSTALLED, we would have proceeded differently."
"We appreciate you very much and are very glad we could resolve this issue!"
They replaced the drain line, cleaned out the pipe downstream from the junction, and replaced the joint. Everything works great now. Plus, it was cheaper than the estimate!
The workers were very knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. Everything was cleaned up perfectly.
Really great experience for us.
