Kelly inspected our lighting system and determined that one of our outdoor lighting lines had been cut in 2 places (He sent us pics showing the damage). A couple of days later he came out and put in a new line via a conduit pipe that ran under our sidewalk in the front yard. Once the work was completed, we made arrangements for him to meet us at our house to pay him. He gave me a bill for $450 and I wrote him a check. My husband had been on the phone during this time. Once he got off the phone and noticed the amount of the bill, he caught Kelly before he left to ask for an itemized bill and asked why it cost so much. Kelly responded that it took 8 hours to do dig, locate the cut lines, replace it, and run the lines via the conduit pipe. My husband requested he provide an itemized bill showing the # of labor hours, cost of the materials, etc. At first Kelly gave my husband some pushback about providing it; however, he then said he would send us one. The lighting is working properly so we are happy about that . However, we do think the price was too high and not sure it should've taken 8 hrs to complete as he said. We should have gotten an estimate from him first even if we've used him before. We did receive the itemized bill (attached) in the mail on 12 June in which he included 9 hrs of labor and not the 8 he initially told us.
