We love Matt and his sons/crew. They are very professional and do amazing work. He is very sought-after, so it is hard to get in touch with him and get on his calendar, but it is worth the wait if you can build the time into your project. He's done multiple jobs for us in the last 3 years, both big and small, and we have loved his work and creativity.

The inspection went well. Everything was explained in great detail. Very happy with the service that I had received.

I couldn’t have asked for a better “all in one” handy man. They were here on the days he said and always on time. They showed up ready to work. They took proper measures to make sure they didn’t make a mess and cleaned everything before they left. They are friendly and made the transition much easier to get through. I will use them anytime I need something done. His work is unlike most. He cares and you don’t find people like that now a days. I highly recommend him for all and any remodeling.

Severns did a great job at completing my basement project with all of my specifications. He was very accommodating and was able to make changes as I needed. His team worked around my schedule was very cost competitive. He also worked with me as I wanted to do some of the work myself to help reduce the cost.

I called Severns 3 times about coming out and giving an estimate for a bathroom remodeling. These calls were each around 2 weeks apart. The first 2 times I left a message with no response. The 3rd time the phone mailbox was full and I could not leave a message. The owner seems to take a lot of time for lengthy responses on Angies list for this type of issue. It would seem that it would be easier just to respond to the original call.

I would like to amend my previous comments about this company. The owner did finally get back with me and apologized for not contacting me, There was a flu bug running through his family and that was the reason given. I did appreciate him getting back with me finally, but, my opinion was, I should of been contacted, and at least told why he wasn't coming to give me an estimate. Because obviously I thought he was blowing me off. He assured me that was not the case. So, given that account, my previous "grading" may have been unfair. Although I won't be calling him for another estimate, I feel I was unfair in giving him an "F" rating.

The overall experience was very good. The house they worked on was empty, but nonetheless, there are few contractors to whom I would give a lockbox code and let them work on their own, at their own pace. Trust is a big factor and Matt is very honest and upfront. They did an excellent job, in a timely manner, of completing all the work. From the pricing to the completion of the work, he was very upfront, direct and we got to work fairly quickly. And, he really tried to save me a lot of money in the process--since he knew were about to sell the house. I would recommend him for any type of work, large or small.

Entire job took 5 days. Crew arrived promptly at 8 am and worked through the day. Were courteous and considerate that they were in our home throughout the entire process. Cleaned up after themselves. Kept us informed on progress.Consulted immediately when decisions needed to be made. If something needed to be done that was unforeseen and not included in original project, discussed this with us and got approval before proceeding. Extremely pleased with the outcome.

severn's construction was the best. Matt arrived early on time explained in detail exactly how long this project would take,he kept me informed step by step. He is very professional with his work. He explained and listened to what I was trying to achieve in my bathroom. He was finished by the time he promised. Matt had to drive at least (1) hour each way to do this job. I would recomend him to anyone that is interested in getting a professional job or any project done correctly in a timely matter.I could keep going I think most reader's will get the point by now give SEVERN'S CONSTRUCTION CO. the job you will not be disappointed. We are very happy with the stairs Matt built us to replace the old stairs going into our basement. I'm finishing a room in the basement and building stairs is beyond my novice carpentry skills. He was very friendly and professional and communicated with me to make sure that the job was done the way I wanted. The steps turned out great and I feel the price was fair. He even gave me helpful suggestions for the framing I'm working on. I will definitely call Matt the next time I need skilled carpentry work in our house.

He's done a really good job. We had a lot of problems here. He had to get us a new sump pump and stuff like that. They did pump water out of our air ducts that were on the floor. The sump pump wasn't working, they pumped 50 gallons out of there. We were going to hire them to do some other too because we were so impressed with him. He is knowledgeable, professional, honest, friendly and hardworking.

By our request, replaced laminate countertop over existing laminate without removing countertop.. This was a big job, and Matt was very clear that he really didn't have time to do it, but because we were on a pretty tight timetable, he sqeezed us in after hours and worked very hard to get the job done. When the job took a little longer than expected, he came back bright and early the next morning to finish it up before going on to his regular jobs for the day. It looks amazing, we love it, and Matt is ridiculously fun to work with. I have a few more things I need done, and we'll definitely call him again.

Matt was very professional, and did an awesome job with our bathroom renovation. He maintained communication with us throughout, and helped us several times while we were deciding on design details for the bathroom. Matt's attention to detail was impeccable, right down to aligning the screws in our light switch. We were very impressed with every aspect of his service. When he brought a helper, he was every bit as respectful and professional as Matt. No matter what we asked for, Matt knew how to make it happen. We've never met a more knowledgeable contractor. He was very understanding of us having to move in while renovation was going on. He was respectful of our home and animals, especially when boxes were everywhere during our move. He was also very flexible with bringing his own generator when we were having a new electrical panel installed. We thought that was above and beyond what he needed to do, and were incredibly appreciative that work would continue while the house was having work done in several areas at once. We are looking forward to hopefully having Matt help us with future renovations in our house, and have recommended him to several friends who were also looking for a contractor to help with kitchen and bathroom renovations. At the end of this renovation, we consider Matt as a friend and miss having his cheerful personality around our house. We look forward to hiring him again in future.

It did not go well . We have a severe mold issue and it still isn't fixed while we were waiting around on these guys. their work on the web site looks beautiful but good luck getting them to even return your call.

The following is a list of services performed on our roof. ? Tear-off and re-roof entire house - approximately 12 sq. ? Install fly rafters to lift sagging eaves. ? Install new drip edge, 15# felt, and ice guard on bottom course. ? Repair necessary wood decking. ? Install 30 year dimensional shingles ? Replace pipe boots, instal vents, and re-flash chimney.

We were very pleased with how it turned out vs. the money we saved! ? Bust out a 10-12? trench around inside perimeter of basement footer. ? Add weep holes in cores of block below grade. ? Install footer drains, gravel, an 18? crock and ½ hp sump pump. ? Install drainage board. ? Concrete over trench level with existing service.

Matt came out in June to give us a quote and spent 2 hours going over our issues with us. He was very thorough and we felt extremely comfortable with him. It took awhile to get him to come out to do the work (Nov 3-5), and didn't always receive communication in a timely manner, but in his defense he is extremely busy, and I was unable to give him a date right away because of other things that had to be done prior to him coming out to do the job. Matt is a perfectionist, so the quality of his work shows that. He and his crew are friendly, trustworthy, and leave no trace behind of the work that they have done. I have and will recommend him to friends. He will be coming back out to finish more work in the near future.

We purchased the "Big Deal Bath Remodel for $4749" which included the demo, installation, labor and materials for a complete remodel of a 40 square foot bathroom. Our cost was higher as our room was larger, we upgraded some materials, added the installation of a full tile shower, frameless glass door and three light fixtures. Matt also repaired and re-textured the entire family room ceiling, removing and re-installing two eyeball lights and a ceiling fan in the process. While he was here, he fixed the guest bathroom sink and a basement faucet which were both leaking. He and his workers were all amazing! They were very prompt, arriving early each day . The entire crew was polite and courteous. They worked continuously only breaking for lunch. Matt was great to work with. he listened to our ideas and made changes in the shower design as if it were no problem. All facets of the remodel ran smoothly. The work was meticulous and completed quickly. We couldn't have found a better guy to trust this remodel to. We would definitely use him again. He will be the first contractor we call for any future work.. If you are looking for a contractor who can do it all and do it right, he's your man!

Matt went out of his way to explain things to us to our complete satisfaction. We've had a minor emergency that requires the money that we've paid for the project, which was not started.

Matt and his crew are punctual, professional, knowledgable, courteous, and clean. I have had many homes and completely many remodels and worked with many contractors and subcontractors in many cities. I would put Severn Construction at the very top of my list.

Mr. Severns came to our home on 4/10/2013 and reviewed the details of the project (e.g. measurements). Mr. Severns informed me that he was going to formulate an estimate and send it electronically. There was some miscommunication, however, we were able to work through them. The estimate was generated and I was very pleased with the results. Mr. Severns was able to produce many options for the project. Further, Mr. Severns was able to address in his estimate the potential root cause and corrective action. The work was completed within the timeline agreed upon during our conversation. Mr. Severns was very flexible. Additionally, Mr. Severns was very creative during the start of the remodeling project as I was not able provide electricity for the first couple of days (I was out of town.) Nonetheless, Mr. Severns, found a way to start the project to ensure we kept the timeline. The work was perform with high quality and I am very happy with the results.
