Description of Work: Michelle came to our house to view the area we intended to landscape. She took measurements, asked many questions about our preferences, and made some suggestions about plant selections. A week later she returned with a detailed layout of the landscape plan and a planting list. We spent about an hour discussing plant options and installation. Its important to understand that she does not provide installation or construction of her designs. She can refer her customers to several contractors for this, and she can also request quotes from nurseries on the customer's behalf. As part of her service, she is available for follow up questions and advice throughout the project.

Description of Work: Michelle was referred to me as an arborist by a landscaping firm representative I met at the Home and Garden show. I wanted some ideas on preventative treatment of apple scab on crab apple trees as well as the treatment of some problems I was experiencing with very mature yews. Michelle does not perform the services she recommends as her consulting service is designed to assist the do-it-yourself homeowner. Of course, the recommendations can also be helpful in discussions with professional treatment providers if the homeowner decides he does not want to do the work himself. Michelle can refer the homeowner to professional landscaping services with which she is familiar. I spent an hour with MIchelle discussing a variety of landscaping issues with shrubs and trees and found her minimum charge of $85 for about one hour of her time to be quite informative and helpful.
