It went well. They arrived when they said they would. They were friendly and courteous. Most important of all the outlet works.

They are always timely with estimates and scheduling appointments. The electricians are always on time and very courteous. They even remove their shoes before entering. We have been very happy with their work and will be using them for future projects.
Description of Work: We have used them twice. The first time, they installed several new light fixtures. Yesterday, they installed a grounded wire in our kitchen and marked our electrical panel.

The electricians were super nice and professional fellows. They were on time and did an excellent job. My husband had a lot of questions/advice and they were very patient with him and calmed our fears about some of the electrical issues we had. Andrew even advised my husband about a project he was planning to do with some outdoor lighting to be careful about something that my husband had not even considered. Andrew may have saved my "do it yourself" hubby from a nasty shock - literally! Will definitely use Cousino Electric for all future electrical work on "this old house"!
Description of Work: Wiring on the side of the house had come loose and was dangerously low. Installed it back to code making some new connections and properly grounding everything. Installed 2 GFCI TR outlets (one bathroom and one kitchen). Checked the breaker panel for connections and properly labelled all the "mystery" breakers. Handled the City of Toledo Release of Existing Service permit.

Hired Cousino Electric to move wires out of my kitchen soffits, which included nearly every wire in the home. The team showed up on time, was very respectful, let me know what was going on and what options there were for the work, and cleaned up after themselves. The work could have been a little neater, but is all unseen behind the walls anyway.

We smelled something burning that seemed to be electrical. They checked everything out. It was fine. While the technician was behind the desk he installed a new grounded outlet. It turned out to be a problem with a florescent light in the basement. I was very impressed with how quickly someone showed up.
Description of Work: It was an emergency weekend call. The technician showed up 10 minutes earlier than expected.

Cousino Electric contact people were friendly and understanding. I fully explained the situation, what had been done and the need for a really good technician. I was assured that their best repair technician would be sent out. He showed up on time with a helper. They checked what I and the handyman had checked and confirmed our findings (couldn't find the open}, but they did find a way to back feed the circuit. It worked and everything is working fine. They also replaced two outlets that were old and cracked. Over all a fine job by a couple of nice, hardworking guys.
Description of Work: We had a circuit go out. Several wall outlets and lights were not working. I had checked all the breakers, GFI's and the physical connections. I had a local "handyman" that was recommended by a friend try to help me find the problem. He spent a full day trying to find out what was open. No success. I called Cousino Electric after I checked Angies list.

We are very happy with the work and the quality of the personnel and job We plan on using them again for work in our residence.
Description of Work: I had to sell my mothers home after she had to move to an extended care facility. I was informed by realtor that the electrical service was not up to code and would not pass a home inspection. I used angies list to contact the two top electrical contractors, and arranged to have both come an give estimate. Cousino was actually 5 min early for appointment, the young man was very professional, and helped me understand the scope and requirements for the job. We had to raise the input service line to code height, replace, relocate and install new fuse boxes, replace some interior plugs, switches , outlets, and install new lighting fixtures and hang two new lamps in kitchen and dinning room. There was one mis-understanding between people at the office, and the first estimate did not include the raising the service, but after clarification we contracted with Cousino. The crew came several days earlier than the original estimated time due to opening in their schedule, the worked efficiently and got the job done in under two day.

They went above and beyond by checking and labeling each circuit (some of the old labels were incorrect or incomplete). Each light and outlet in the house was tested before they left. The workmanship was professional, and the electricians left the site as clean as when they arrived. The price was reasonable for the amount of work done; the quote I received was not as clear as I think it should have been, but at the end of the day I was satisfied with the results. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: The main breaker box for the house was relocated- this involved installing a new conduit from the meter to the new location, sealing the old conduit entry point, turning the old breaker box into a junction box, and running all wires from the old box to the new.

Cousino Electric Ltd were excellent. They were just perfect - I couldn't have requested any better help. We had a ceiling light outlet and what we thought was a faulty light switch and dimmer switch. They took care of everything and told us what didn't need to be changed. They were very honest, they could have told me anything, I know nothing about electronics. They didn't charge to look at a switch we thought was not working, and they told us how to prevent similar problems in the future. They were just kindly and really nice to work with. We would absolutely use them again and we have passed their name on to friends.

They came to the lab facility and evaluated the equipment. Several days later they were able to replace the faulty connection. The repair took about an hour and the bio-hood functioned beautifully afterwards. The team was professional and courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They followed all of the restrictions necessary to work in the lab environment.
Description of Work: Cousino Electric were able to fix the electrical connection for a bio-hood that I used for my business. The manufacturer was not able to supply parts or service for this equipment which was purchased in 1995. Cousino was able to locate a compatible part and fix the equipment.

We called and made an appointment for an estimate for the work to be done. They arrived on time for the appointment, made some suggestions on what would be best for the project and got back to us the next day. The price was nearly $400 less than the other estimate we had. Work was done when they said, and did what they said. They even found something extra we needed and did it for no charge. Could not be happier.

I called to get an estimate for electrical work to install a new spa in our back yard. Received the estimate the same day and work was completed within the week. Very pleased with their service, professionalism and promptness. They had to rewire through my crawl space, add an outside breaker and move my outdoor light fixture to code due to where I wanted the spa placed. They arrived when promised and worked until the job was finished. Everything looks and works great. When they finished, any messes were cleaned up and even matched my siding after moving the light fixture. I highly recommend Cousino Electric

Very satisfactory; unexpected problem with remote control signal receiver on master bedroom ceiling fan/light fixture. The installer came back twice to rectify the problem with replacement units from Casablanca but could not make it work. Finally, another electric compnay, authorized service provider for Casablanca, fixed the problem on the second attempt.

I highly, highly recommend them. They did a very professional job. They were prompt; on time. More than one person came so they got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. I discussed the work I wanted done with him over the phone; he gave me a ballpark estimate of what it would cost. Once I received the bill after the work was done, it was very close to the estimate. They did everything to code. They did a good job.

Member. This is the first I have heard of a part being broken on your furnace. If it would have been brought to my attention we would have gladly replaced the part if it was our fault. I hope this wasn't the reason we got an overall B grade when all subcategories were graded an A. We stand alone in comparison with our competitors when it comes to warranty work or for solving problems with anything we Install. We will be contacting you to take a look at the furnace. Thank You

After delivering my son back to college following Christmas break, I arrived home to find my dishwasher circuit had tripped. This wasn't a first. I attempted to reset it, but it it wasn't in the cards this time. The last thing I wanted to do late at night was to wash an entire dishwasher full of post holiday dinner and glassware. Ugh. I made a mental note to call an electrician in the morning. In the morning, I placed a call to my neighbors company, and left a message. When I didn't hear back by 10:00 am, I found Cousino Electric on Angie's List. The reviews were excellent, so I gave it a shot. The owner answered, and explained that he should have someone available after 1:00 pm. He'd let me know then. By noon, I received a call that a serviceman was on the way. The young man that arrived wore a Cousino shirt ~ a plus because I'm a widow and a bit wary~ was incredibly polite and professional, and had the work completed in less than a half hour. There are two things that amaze me in this story. Primarily, the work performed at my home was relatively small compared to the other jobs I've read about in reviews about Cousino Electric, but I was treated as a first rate customer. The other amazing thing is that it's 2:50 pm as I write this review, and my neighbor's electric company still hasn't called back. At least I know who to call next time.
Description of Work: The dishwasher/disposal circuit was out. The serviceman replaced the twin pushmatic breaker.

After checking Angie's List, I placed the call to Cousino Electric and was able to speak to Troy Cousino. He was very helpful, and arranged to meet us on a day and time convenient to us. This was important, because we live an hour away, so we had to made special plans to be there. The house having work done is one that is for sale, and we wanted to get this taken care of as soon as possible. We were given an hour window of when to expect Troy to arrive. Shortly before the end of the window, I received a call stating that the job he was on was taking a little longer than expected but that he would be there as soon as possible. We ended up waiting an extra hour. When he arrived he explained that it took him a little longer because the client he was helping had recently lost a parent and needed to talk about that as he was explaining the job needing done. Even though I have no idea who the man was, I am glad Troy took the extra time with him. Once he was there, Troy gave a very quick and thorough assessment and explanation of what needed to be done in the case of the breaker box, which was our main concern. Then we went though and looked at everything that REALLY needed to be done in the event that a possible buyer was using FHA financing. That led to our decision to have additional work done. Another company had been contacted by a potential buyer about the breaker box only at a cost of $2100. For that same price, Troy was able to do that and everything else we needed done. We were fortunate that Troy's men had finished a job early, so they were able to get our job done the day after we received the estimate. When I went and checked on the work, the men had used carpet strips from the garage inside the house to keep from tracking in snow and mud. Everything was done and looked great. Troy will be meeting the city inspector there today for final approval. For us, the project from phone call to finish was one week, and was done exceptionally well for an excellent price. I would highly recommend Cousino Electric to anyone.
Description of Work: This was a major electrical upgrade which required work both inside and outside the house. An old, unsafe eletrcial panel had to be removed, and a new, upgraded one installed. The outside wiring into the house was unsafe and required going up onto the roof, dropping the wire from the house, installing the new panel and all new, up to code breakers, which they also were sure to label. They then replaced the outside roof access wiring to the house, along with everything needed to make it safe. There were outside panels and grounds that had to be dealt with, as well as one to the water meter. We also had a dedicated garage door opener outlet installed, as well as 7 GFCI outlets throughout the house, although these were not part of our originally intended work.

Responding to your "owner, boss not so much" comment. You were not given an attitude at any point from the owner. Maybe you were disappointed that we would not install a new outlet and wiring in your garage for free. You never asked for an outlet to be added in your garage on the estimate and the costs were not included so why would we install it for free. Nice Try. Also I sent my crew out to your home an additional time to diagnose a breaker that was tripping. The problem was determined that a unlicensed contractor that you hired prior to arrival (Cleaner and Dryer) added an electrical outlet for an EZ breathe system that overloaded your circuit. You were not charged for the additional trip. Instead of saying thank you, you decided to post that you were given attitude. I wish there was a grading system for customers.

I called Cousino Electric LTD, after reading all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews about them here. The man on the phone was polite and pleasant and gave me a very good first impression. Two days later another man showed up (as scheduled) at my house to look over the problem/work and give me an estimate. He seemed very competent, knowledgeable, and professional. We discussed everything I needed done and also secondary projects that would depend on the final cost and my budget. While he was there he also asked me if I was having trouble with my lights dimming. I did, and I told him so, but it wasn't a big problem for me so I didn't consider it important. He looked at a few things and then said that the dimming lights were caused by an improper grounding of the house. My house inspector had mentioned something similar so I agreed to have that work done also. He gave me the option of getting an estimate right there on the spot or waiting and calling/emailing later for one. I wanted it on the spot and so after a few minutes in his truck he emerged with the estimate.Once again I was very satisfied with the experience, even though the high price left a sour taste in my mouth. I should mention here that I'm not saying they are more expensive compared to others in the area; what I'm saying is that the last time I bought a house (in 2007) I had far more work done for far less money. But that was a few years ago and in another town not that far away, so it's not exactly apples to apples. Then it was time to schedule the appointment, but when I called they informed me that the earliest appointment was in 2 months. That really bothered me, but I supposed it was reasonable for the area and I'd rather have a professional crew that's really busy/popular work on my house than someone else who spends his days twirling his thumbs because he does shoddy work and everyone knows it. So I agreed and scheduled the appointment. The next day I got a call back and I was informed that due to a cancellation they were available to come the next day. I now believe this is standard business practice for the industry because it's happened to me far too often (I'm always told they are booked for months and months and then a few days later I get a surprise call about a cancellation and how they can come immediately). I was also left wondering about the all the other people with 2 month appointments who had already been waiting for a month and probably deserved the expedited appointment more than I did. In any case, the crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to. Out of everyone there only two people asked me if they needed to remove their shoes to walk on the carpet. I won't complain about that too much, though, because nobody made a mess or left any evidence of work boots on a white carpet. They went straight to work (mostly in the basement and on the outside) and stayed at work without any real breaks (that I saw) until they were finished. I was told that if needed they could run a cord so I could have power for my television or such things, but I declined.I'd like to add here that several guys on the crew used my bathroom, but only one of them asked if he was allowed. Of course they were all allowed, but I still think it's appropriate to ask for permission for such things in another person's home. Approximately 5 hours later they were finished working. Some of the crew got straight to work cleaning up the small mess they had to make in the basement while the rest finished up by labeling the box to each corresponding function. Eventually someone came up to me with the bill to sign and pay and it was exactly the same amount as the estimate. Next thing I knew everyone was driving away. This isn't a big issue for me, but it's worth mentioning that I was expecting (and would have liked) to have someone show me what was done and let me know if there were any details I should know about. The sudden departure made me suspicious, but everything looked fine and I was pleased. Within about an hour, however, I realized that the problem of the dimming lights was not fixed. I know they grounded the house because I saw most of that work get done, so I don't know what went wrong and who was wrong. In any case, I didn't call them about this because, as I mentioned, the dimming doesn't bother me and I know the house is grounded so it's really not worth interrupting my busy schedule to stay at home again and have it fixed. Overall I was very satisfied. The reason why I gave a few Bs instead of all As like everyone else did is because, in my opinion, people don't know how to grade properly. I chose this company because of the perfect scores from everyone. This raised my expectations to a level where I expected to be wowed. So perhaps they are being punished by the unrealistic expectations that the other reviews create, but can we do about that? Maybe others have had consistently really bad experiences with other companies so they are wowed when someone is capable, competent and professional, but whatever the case may be, a straight A grade sheet means the work was flawless (I should know, I am a former college professor). I wouldn't call Cousino's work flawless, but they did a solid good job where it counted and when I get around to budgeting for all those secondary projects I won't even think twice about calling them back (this means that I will use them again).

Response from Cousino Electric Ltd
Customer's Invoice Total was $1,260.00 and was paid by Credit Card. Not the above mentioned $1,800.00. If the "Professor" had any questions for us he should of asked them at the time of completion, and we would have had no problem answering them. I wish there was a grading system for customers.
