Our patio was cracked and pitched back somewhat toward the house, so rain water was collecting around the foundation and causing rotted sill plate and bandboard. Along with repairing that woodwork, we of course wanted to replace the patio and prevent similar damage in the future. Of the wide range of extimates we collected from cement contractors, Borean's offered the best price for the best plan (4500 psi, fiber reinforcement, saw cut into six sections, and V-seal 102); also, because the step down from the patio door had dropped, they built up the base with considerable amounts of gravel to bring that step within current code requirements (about 8 1/4 inches). To help with the other repairs, they offered to make two visits: first, to remove the old patio and haul away the concrete, getting it out of the way for the contractor who did the woodwork; second, after the other work was done, to pour the new patio. As it turned out, there was a considerable time before the other contractor was finished, but Borean was patient, even though the payment was to follow completion of the job, and then they got us quickly on their schedule when we were ready for the installation. We were likewise impressed with the neatness of the work; despite all the hauling of concrete from the street to the back of the house, there was practically no sign of their work other than the flattened grass--and a very nice looking patio too.
