My Handy Mate LLC Improvement & Remodeling

I met with one of the owners, Gary, & set the job up. I had to finish selecting the tile, so they had to wait until I was ready. It ended up being a very complex pattern, but Matthew Wink, the installer, took his time to do it correctly. It looks gorgeous. I have plans to use them again to update my staircase & replace more moldings. Great company & will use again

The wall dent was fixed real good. The lighting in the kitchen was fixed well. But the door they fixed, they had to come back again and fix it. And they did not clean up the dirt that was left behind after fixing the door the second time. And the service was bought for 2 hours but they did not stay the entire 2 hours but left within 1 hour and 20 minutes. So when you purchase this service, make sure they are staying the entire 2 hours. Otherwise they were very professional and respectful.

The gentleman showed up on time, and was professional and polite, and installed the Christmas lights as we had specified. We were very happy with the results and will definitely use their services again

Everything went smoothly for us. After purchasing the Big Deal we were contacted about the work and a time was scheduled to have them review, in house with us, the work that needed to be performed. They were on time at the scheduled appointment and answered all of our questions. We then purchased the materials for the job and contacted them to schedule the installation. The day of the job they were on time and again reviewed with us the work that needed to be done to ensure things were still the same. They then setup to begin the work, including putting down material to protect our countertops and hardwood floors (for traveling between the kitchen and garage to cut the tiles). The job was completed on time and without fuss. The cleanup afterwards was spot-on!

The tile back-splash installation in our kitchen went as smooth as it possibly could have gone. All company representatives were incredibly friendly, always prompt, and most importantly did a fantastic job on our kitchen. The level of customer service that this company provides is unlike any other that I have experienced during the entire process of renovating my home (and I mean that in a good way). If any issues came up during the process we were notified immediately and a resolution was presented to us promptly. We were also pulled into the room multiple times to ensure that the work was being performed to our satisfaction. You have no idea how much I appreciated that! Another bonus that I will mention is that every single member of the crew was incredibly respectful of our home and took great care not to damage anything (ex: wood floors and counter tops were covered at all times). All team members even removed their shoes upon entering our home (when applicable and without us asking). We were so pleased with the level of communication, courtesy, and expertise this company provided to us that we hired them for a two additional (and larger) jobs in our home. I am so pleased that I was introduced to this company through the "deal of the day" program.

The cost for everything was very reasonable. They came when they said they would and worked with my scheduled. I was pleased with all the work. My only concern was the clean up. I wish they would have either removed the old materials or asked me where they should go. They we're put in my trash cans and i had to remove them and put them at the curb to be taken away. But I would certainly use them again.

The service was good. The price that I paid was for just installation. I had to buy all the materials, and do all the preparation work. They did good work, but they made the floors dirty, because they were walking all over my floor with their dirty shoes.

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. They did a nice job. The outcome was very nice. They were very nice, and they cleaned up after themselves. They kept everything very neat. They did exactly what I wanted. The gentleman that installed the backsplash came out. Then he had a supervisor that came out as well to double check to make sure that I was happy with everything that was going on during the process, and if there was anything different or anything better that they could have done. They were very conscientious about everything. They installed the tile. Usually they do it two consecutive days. They install the tile one day and the grout the next day. But I had to work the next day, so they worked with my schedule and came back out on another day to do all the grouting.

The Handy Mate office responded immediately upon my purchase of a "Special Deal" price. I explained what I needed done...Gary was at my home promptly/early on Monday morning as I requested. He called to see if the tile work was completed and returned for the reconnection. I will call this company for any future handyman needs that I may have! Thank you!

They came over one day and provided an estimate , then came another day to determine materials needed and went to work. Dwight was here off and on for parts of 4 days as the operation was iterative. He very friendly and focused and worked independently. I have other things that need done in the future and will give My Handy Mate the opportunity to do the work.

From the initial call, to scheduling within 1-2 working days, to the work itself, everything went very well. Jassen is very detail oriented, skilled, and a good communicator. I will use him in the very near future.

Jason responded to my request for an estimate very quickly. He came over, looked at the job and emailed an estimate a few days later. I didn't get any other estimates because I have had excellent luck with Angie's List reviews (until now). My Handy Mate provides an estimate based on labor, I provide the parts. I called him back about a month later and scheduled the job for 3:30 PM. The handyman called around 11:30 am and wanted to come over at 1:30 (he said there was another job at 3:30). It just happened that it would work for us. He showed up at 2:30. After replacing the first toilet (it took 1-1/2 hours) we noticed a leak, not just a drip but water running down the water line, which led to the basement ceiling. When we told him about it, he said "oh yea, it's an old tube and you should replace it." I asked, if I go get one now, would he be able to replace it. He said, yes. I ran out, got the parts, came back and he was just finishing the 3 rd toilet (around 5:30 PM). Between the 3rd and 4th toilets he wanted to replace the ballast. I had already taken apart the light fixture and the only thing he had to do was replace it. I didn't know what they would charge for it, so I called the office. They said around $30-$40, I was shocked, because it took him only 15 minutes, then she said when the handyman came back in, she would talk to him and then figure out the price. When the job was FINALLY finished at 7 PM, he practically ran out of the house to get to his other appointment, we were able to go through the house. ALL of the bathrooms had our soaking wet towels on the floor, fingerprints on the toilets, and debris scattered all over the place. Then we noticed that one of the toilets was leaking and another toilet was moved over 2". I emailed Jason, he was very apologetic and wanted to send someone over the next day to fix everything. When their office called, they wanted to send THE SAME GUY back to fix the problems. I did not want the same guy coming back. Then decided that I would try to fix their mistakes myself. About two weeks later I got the bill, they charged me for the original estimate plus $20 for the ballast and minus $20 for the terrible job he did.

His crew came out and looked at the project and it turned out that the scope of the project exceeded the deal.

From the office manager coordinating with me to the foreman coming to give me a quote on the work I wanted done the level of responsiveness and professionalism more than met my expectations. On the day the work was completed the guys showed up on time and were very professional and responsive. They were very, very respectful of my home and of me and that was very much appreciated. Their work as I mentioned previously was immaculate and done with perfection. The owner of the company called and checked in with me while the work was being completed as well and that was a fantastic touch. I felt that Handy Mate LLC treated me as if they had known me for years and that they were as equally invested in their quality of work as I was. This was a wonderful experience and I will definitely call on Handy Mate again!!

The work was really good. They did a specialty designed fire pit for us. They also built 3 benches that were customized to me because I have a bad back. The customer service was great and they were easy to get in touch with. I would highly recommend them. They provide high quality work, and they are very reasonably priced and will work with your budget. I had all the supplies and they did all the labor for me. They gave me a list of everything that was needed and I went and purchased all of it. They were very professional, arrived early, and cleaned up their messes. They also fixed the wood steps to my front porch and didn’t charge me anything. They also don’t pressure you into anything.

We had a huge trampoline with a netting superstructure shipped to our home. I had no inkling as to how to even sort the pieces, let alone assemble the thing, and I just didn't have the time to get into it anyway! So I called Jassen at My Handy Mate, wondering if the job was too small or odd for his company to do. He said "no problem," and arrived when he said he would. Within a few hours, the trampoline was standing tall, assembled and complete. My Handy Mate does what they say they will do, and they do it very well, and for the right price. Any time a job comes up that is outside of my skill set, I call them, and they get right on it. Great company.

The project went off without any hitches. We really believe this was due to My Handy Mate's owner Jassen taking the time to custom design our project with utmost attention to detail. He thought of everything and had the plan in place before they ever started with every last detail. In all our experience in owning several properties, My Handy Mate and their crew were dependable, professional, detail oriented, and very skilled with everything they did.
