We love the style and color of the fence! Many of our neighbors have gone out of their way to tell us how nice it turned out. We got 4 quotes from different fence companies before deciding which one to use. Mae was by far the most reasonable for the same type/quality fence. There was a glitch with one gate (did not send the proper color hardware). As a result, the wait for completion was longer than expected, but we were still very satisfied with the end result. The work done was neat and without damage to surrounding area, i.e., house, garden, etc. We will use this company again.

It's a little too long to list everything. The few things are: Communication was not good. Emails, calls or texts were not returned in a timely manner or just not returned at all. The crew did not come out one day on time. They were over 5 hours late. But they did finish the job by dark. So we thought. Left debris behind and clean up was not the best. Some fencing was not put up the way we wanted or the way the old one was. A little rigging around the phone pole. We had 3 gates installed. The main 2 door gate was not even on both sides. Also large spacing between the fence and gates for all 3. They were told and asked to fix problems 3 times. They only came out twice. My husband called/texted the owner to just have materials delivered so he could fix the problems. 3 weeks later materials were dropped off with not phone call before hand or even a knock at the door or note left for us. They came and went! Not very professional. Even though the owner was nice when he came to the house and we signed the deal and gave a deposit. However it is a nice fence to look at, but there were issues putting it up and together once you look it over.

A crew came out at the scheduled time. They put up the fence in a professional manner. It was a custom built fence. They completed the work in 1 day. We are happy with the work and would use them again.

The fence looks wonderful. They were able to install the fence in one day. We got three different quotes, and we really liked the variety they provided at no additional cost. With some of the other companies, for the extra details, such as the scalloped look, it would have been an additional fee. We also liked the pictures of examples of work that they have completed in the past.

We actually just had them come out for a quote and we liked what they shared with us. We didn’t even have anyone else really come out for a quote. We think they quoted us close to $4000.

Owner of company came out and provided estimate. Had a catalog of previous projects. Showed us exactly what we were getting. We liked what we saw and price fit our budget. Set up install for a week later. Take a look at the fences in your neighborhood - you will not see the quality and workmanship this company provides. We are extremely happy.

The fence is fantastic. They did not, however, install it when promised due to weather conditions. When they did arrive, they worked quickly and efficiently to get the work done. I would highly recommend this company.

I was given an estimate but I could never get the work done. I was so frustrated trying to get my calls returned to schedule the work, I finally gave up on the Mae Fence Company, and had the the fence installed by Lannis, my second choice. The Mae Fence Company is neither responsive, nor professional....so I'm glad that they didn't do the work because that probably would have been a consumer -nightmare, too.

Checked 3 providers before selecting Mae's. Initially, the wrong fence panels were sent & they asked me if it was a suitable substitution. I told them no & they got the proper fence the next day & installed it. I am very happy with my fence & would recommend them.

I picked 3 fence companies from Angie's List and obtained estimates. Mae's estimate was in the middle, but was within a few hundred dollars of the cheapest estimate. I picked Mae because they were the most professional, and offered some nice options that the others didn't. For example, my new fence was built with a rolling arch design and post caps at no extra charge. They also had other options for an additional charge, like a choice of post carvings or mortice & tennon construction. Mae was very specific about the material and construction techniques. For example, the cedar posts are all center cut. The installation went smoothly and I'm pleased with the result. I had some boards that I asked to be replaced because of minor splits and they were promptly taken care of. I highly recommend Mae if you need a new fence.

There were some issues getting the crew to the job on time, but the fence turned out great.

Our job was delayed for a week or so due to a shortage of material and labor availability. Unfortunately, the day the job started was when the storm hit on 6/29 and we lost power. So, the job was halted and rescheduled for a later date. Also, we learned that the custom gate was not ordered after I signed the contract on June 4th. So, there were delays in having the gate made and that set back the completion date. The completion date (8/4) was two months to the day after I signed the contract. Make sure that all fence sections match as they are being installed. I was fortunate to be here as the work was going on and had to request a section not be installed because it was designed for a sloping elevation. Once the job was completed, the fence and gate looked great!! The workmen worked really diligently even though there were a few issues during the installation. Overall, the price was excellent and we are satisfied with our new fence!

Our first installation date was pushed back 8 days due a shortage on posts, which was understandable. The second date was pushed back so the crew could finish another project. The crew finally showed up at 11am on the third date. When they arrived they really weren?t sure what they were doing. I had to walk them around the yard and explain why they were here. It was really fortunate I was home when they showed up or who knows what would have happened. While walking them around the yard I showed them the clearly labeled flags that marked our property line and where to put the fence. Somehow the fence on one side of our yard ended up being a foot into our neighbor?s yard. They also did not bring enough panels to finish the fence. The crew said they would be back to finish. I called Tim on Wednesday immediately after we realized the fence wasn?t in our yard and he called back Thursday to say his crew would be out that afternoon to finish. They didn?t show up on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Monday. They finally showed up on Tuesday and completed the work in under 2 hours. Some things to keep in mind before you decide on Mae fence: The crew was very unprofessional. They threw rocks they dug up into the middle of our yard, piled dirt/debris on our freshly installed mulch, left scraps of wood in our yard, smoked cigarettes and left the butts, and cut a significant amount of branches off of two of our brand new spruce trees without asking. From our perspective, it seemed like there was a lack of communication between Tim and his crew. This left us frustrated because the crew did not show up when Tim said they would. We also expected Tim to come by when the fence was completed, or at least have assigned a construction foreman to our site. Mae fence builds a beautiful, custom fence at a very reasonable price. They are very well constructed and are a breath of fresh air from the normal style we see everywhere in the central Ohio area. Would we hire them again? Yes, and we hope they work out the kinks in their customer service. *Update-Today we found out that while digging a hole for the fence post the crew cut a sprinkler hose. Not only did they not fix it, but they buried the cut hose and didn't mention anything to us. With the mess they left us in the backyard and the damage to the sprinkler system we had to pay to fix I now have a hard time recommending Mae fence without saying proceed with caution.

Mae Fence gave us a great design that really worked with our sloping yard. The estimate was the best I received for the size of deck. Mae Fence installed a cedar fence for us last year; so we assumed the work would meet our expectations. The deck construction began on the promised date and was completed five days later despite rainy weather and the extremely rocky slope the deck is built above. Michael Patton arrived early each day and was available to answer any questions as he built the deck. The construction and quality ended up exceeding our expectations.

From estimate to donstruction and follow-up after the job - EXCELLENT.

Tim provided me with a fair and accurate quote for the job within 24 hours of my initial call. There were a few delays because of weather and other jobs scheduled before mine taking too long and it did not allow the crews to start on the desired date and it got moved around several times. But once the crew got started at my place, wow were they fast. The fence looks better in person than any photo could depict in a catalog and we have gotten many compliments on how it improved the look of the back yard dramatically.

The customer service informed us everything that was going to happen and he walked us through the process. The quote was for around $6000.

Mae Fence was responsive and returned our e-mail promptly. They provided a fair estimate (much better pricing than other fence companies we met with) and were able to schedule our install pretty quickly. They arrived the morning of the job ready to work and had the fence installed by the end of the day. We were impressed with how hard and quickly the team worked. They were very professional and courteous. The fence looks great.

I asked for an estimate for a 6" cedar privacy fence. The owner provided the estimate after surveying back yard. His first estimate was $6,200 for one style I liked and $5,500 for a more basic style fence. I told him I had an estimate, from another company, for $5,100. He told me he would drop the price if I kept his sign up in my front yard for the entire summer. I found this to be an incredibly poor business style. As well, he told me to ask the other fence company about various sizes of their pickets, posts, etc etc., as he attributed his "higher standard, more study" products to his higher price. I DID ask the other company and have the sizes on my amended estimate (by the way, the sizes are the same as Mae fence products). Also, treated pine is a safer post to put in the ground as natural cedar can start to decay with in one year. (this is from my personal research, not another company's recommendation). Mae Fence only uses natural cedar posts. Lastly, I had a coupon that CLEARLY stated "$700 off fence". Due to some, extremely, fine print, he only took off $495. Another poor business style. The owner of this company was very cocky, rather pushy. He may have nice products in the end, but I couldn't get past his shady business style. This company is new to town. They need to find a more professional means to selling their product if they are to succeed. ****After this review was posted by Angie's List, the owner of Mae fence called me on 22 May and harassed me about the negativity of the review. Once again, he was rude, cocky, laughed off a few of my comments and then HUNG UP on me. I have reported this company to the administrators of Angie's List with harassment complaints. I requested for this company to be removed from this website. The only good reason for this company to STAY on Angie's List is for this very review and update. He proved his disingenuous business style once and for all with that phone call. ****

It went very well. At first they forgot to put in one of the gates but the next day were very friendly and came and put it right where it was supposed to go in about 20 min. They are a brand new company here in ohio with no angies list or bbb ratings so I was nervous about going with them, Tim was awesome when I asked him why he didn't have any ratings and explained that you have to be in business for a year before you can be rated by the bbb. He understood my nervousness and would not take any money until the job was completely done to my satisfaction! That won me over and I'm so glad we went with them. We had 5 estimates done on this fence and no one could make a fence this beautiful for this price.
