Very poor work we had chad come out to give a quote on redoing our retainer wall and patio. He constantly spoke about his mystery crew lol which we never seen, if it wasn’t for our 17 year old son being out of school and helping him he would have never got as far as he did. He constantly complained about being broke and his daughter hating him instead of the progress he was not making. He couldn’t even follow a simple concept of how to lay the pavers which you can see the 2 different patterns in the photo. We made the mistake of paying him in full he was suppose to return to tap down the pavers and lay the polymeric sand, nope he disappeared, so now we have to Pay for a company to come relay our pavers and to finish his sloppy work. The only thing he was consistent on was late arrivals, long lunches and early days….. I’ll forewarn anyone reading this take your business somewhere else, yes he loves to talk and give excuses. He’s so inexperienced he had us purchase an overload of stone.

Everything seemed fine at first. Chad came and gave me an estimate, that was fair and much lower than the others I had received. He was prompt and friendly. He was able to fit us in his schedule quickly and we were excited to have him and his "crew" come out and fix our front walkway. The day of the job, he had ME fill out the invoice and write what services were to be done (he claimed he had bad handwriting and that was why he could not write the invoice). Services included: taking out existing bricks, putting down new gravel/sand, putting the bricks back EXACTLY like they were before, fixing the front stoop bricks, and power washing both the front stoop and the walkway. His "crew" consisted of his 3 teenage boys and one of the boys girlfriend (who did not do any of the job, she just hung around and watched them). When they started pulling up the bricks and setting them aside, I asked how they would know how to put them back in place exactly where they were before. He said they just fit back like a puzzle. They did the job very quickly, which I thought was odd, since that type of masonry work is not only hard, but very time consuming. We were required to pay half up front and then the rest upon completion. We paid in cash, which I am now very much regretting. When my husband came home and looked at the job, he asked if they had power washed the bricks because they looked a very muted grey and they were red before. Not bright red, but they were most definitely NOT a muted grey. He also recognized that the bricks WERE NOT put back exactly as they had been before. Upon further inspection, there are now BIG gaps between some of the bricks on the turn and at least 20 of the bricks are not right side up and there are clear pieces NOT in the correct spots. Where they stopped near the front stoop, there is a big dip that now poses a HAZARD to anyone who walks up to our front door. I contacted Chad, left a voicemail message and sent several text messages. He said the bricks were that muted grey because of the "leaves that had fallen on them." There are never leaves that fall on those bricks. He never returned my voicemail call. I know that some of the bricks are that muted grey because they were put back in upside down and not the red right side up. I asked if he could please come back and fix what was still not done correctly, he never responded. A few days later, my husband and I started power washing the bricks with our own power washer and what do you know? The bricks were restored to their reddish color. We took 3.5 of our own hours to power wash those bricks, brick by brick. Clearly not done correctly the first time. I sent Chad pictures of before (what he did) and after (what we did). He never acknowledged as to why there was such a difference. I called and left a message and tried to text him. The only response I got was a text message that said, "u want new buy new those pavers will never come clean leaves and trees stain bricks they all dont come out the same ur stoop that looks has never touched or leaves or trees sap." First of all, his message made no sense. Second, as a professional, even with text messages, there should not be that many grammatical or spelling errors in a message. I am more than happy to supply pictures of before and after, as well as other text message communication between Chad and myself. I asked if I could have part of my money back since the job was not done correctly and I am having to contact another company to come and fix what he did not do as he said he would. There was no response. I asked if he could come and fix the bricks on the front stoop that are still lose as well as fix the gaps that are numerous around the bend. Clearly, things were NOT put back in the order they were taken out. There was no response. I have given Chad numerous opportunities to call me back, text me back, come fix what needed to be fixed to no avail. I even contacted the person who recommended him to me asking for help with this matter. For I do not know what to do. Nothing seems to be working. I had another company come out and look at my porch. They were APPALLED at what was said to have been done, what is still left to be done, fixed, corrected, etc. for the money I paid for this job. Due to the lack of response from Chad and no willingness to come and fix what needs to be fixed, I am left with no other option than to post a negative review of CP Construction on this site. I feel as if I have been partially scammed out of $1,400, in cash, for a job that was done half-assed and not to a customers satisfaction. I am not the type of person who wants to write anything negative, but feel I have exhausted all other options at this point. All in all, be very, very careful when using this company. DO NOT pay in cash. Do not be taken by Chad's charming personality or so-called discounted pricing. You get what you pay for! We are regretting our decision to go with CP construction every day. Small claims court here we come! I have the before and after pictures, invoice, and both voice and text messages to PROVE this job was NOT done correctly.
Description of Work: Brick pavers on front patio needed pulled up and relaid due to rising portions and sinking portions on the walkway. As well, some bricks on the front stoop needed to be re-glued since they were coming undone. Both stoop and patio needed to be power washed.

I checked Angie's List and did an internet search for firewood deliveries in Lewis Center. Then I decided to call CP Landscaping. It's funny because I feel like I could copy the last persons review of him on Angie's List and paste it here in my comments field. Chad returned my call rather quickly and we discussed how long the wood had been seasoned and agreed upon a price. After doing some research online I found Chad's price to be very competitive if not a little more inexpensive that others. We set a delivery date and time, which turned out to be an absolutely horrible icy-snowy day, activities were getting canceled right and left, so I was surprised when Chad called to say he was on his way (on time too). He stacked the wood right where I wanted it and was a very nice person to deal with. We will call him again when we need more wood and I would recommend him to a friend. Oh, and the wood burns well.
Description of Work: Chad, delivered and stacked a cord of firewood. I doubled checked the measurements for a cord of wood to make sure I received the correct amount and I did plus a little more it looks like.

Chad returned my call within 15 minutes of my leaving a message and set up a delivery for a full cord of firewood within the week. He assured me that the wood was seasoned for three years, and was of high quality hardwood. The delivery arrived on the dot at the time arranged, and when I saw the wood I was amazed-a full truckload of 90% maple, with the remaining 10% oak and sycamore, and I think I received a little more than a full cord. It is indeed well seasoned, and judging by the spalting (which makes me poach some of the nicer pieces for woodworking projects) I would say his estimate of felled time is very accurate. He was personable, and professional-I will definitely be calling Chad in the future.
Description of Work: Chad delivered a full cord of firewood to my home.
