The Deck Doctor House Medic & Painting Too

Incidentally we had problems because he pressure washed then put down the paint and seal, but then it rained which ruined the work. He made good on it though as he returned and repaired the work. He sanded the whole deck and redid the paint and sealant. I would recommend him to anybody.

There was confusion over scheduling and when service was to be completed since I scheduled it in advance, but the work was completed. Some of the shutters bubbled. They didn't do any prep besides wiping them before painting. Their crew was very nice and personable, but didn't seem to have clear direction. However, the work was completed and once the shutters were up, you couldn't tell the paint had bubbled. I hope they don't peel!

It is now August. I've had to contact the provider several times to find out about delays. On July 31, he said he'd fallen behind and would get to my job the week of August 3. I called him on August 5, but have not gotten a response. At this point, I'm asking for a refund so I can find someone else to paint my shutters.

They did a beautiful job once they got around to finishing. The only complaint I have is, when I bought the deal they told me they would powerwash one day and stain the next day. They didn't stain until one week later and were not forthcoming regarding when they would complete the job. The workers were very courteous but they trampled my ferns by the side of the deck, Overall, we are verrrry happy with the results.

He had a shutter painting special for about $69. The work was good. The only thing they needed more was following with a formal invoice and things like that. I was kind of looking at something more formal with regard to whatever the balance was remaining. I did not get that. Either they would have dropped it off or I would have received it sometime in the mail, but I had to call them to actually have them create one they sent by email. The price was okay. They did really good work. They were right there.

I got them on Angie's List. It was reasonable otherwise I wouldn't have had them. It was very nice. When he first came to give me an estimate, we knew it was going to take a while. They came when it was ready. They called me when the weather was nice so he could do it. The workers were very pleasant. The price was about what I expected.

I was very satisfied. I would use them again. They came out within a month after the big deal was purchased. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal price. I had never used them before. It was just thorough. I liked the idea that they power sanded it down. He taped it off real well.

I purchased this deck maintenance special for my son's home for $199.00 as a house warming gift for the home he purchased in February 2015. I called The Deck Doctor and left a message for a return call to get an estimate set up for my son.Terry Betts returned my call very promptly and I explained what I was doing for my son and he asked if we could e-mail some pictures of the deck,railings,steps,etc which my son did. Terry explained there would be additional costs if the deck was above ground,with the railings and steps. The work was delayed because of weather conditions and the project took 2 1/2 days.The first day involved masking the house and areas that needed to protected from the pressure washing and staining.The only miner problem was the crew ran out of the color stain that was being used and they had to come back the next day to finish up the job.The total cost of the project ended up costing approximately $421.00 due to the extra square footage, railings and steps.The work was completed in a timely matter and my son was very satisfied with the job that was done. I would highly recommend The Deck Doctor & House Medic to anyone who needs this type of service. In fact my son has contacted The Deck Doctor for an estimate to have his wood fence pressure washed and stained.

Two man crew was professional & courteous. There was some minor overspray that was cleaned same day. This was due to some wind pulling up a little of the tape holding the coverings on the house. I purchased this thru a special offer on Angie's list. Normally would cost over double the price I paid. Some confusion on offer. Application asked for 3 dates which I thought was due to the offer coming to an end. I thought that it was to be done by the end of the offer but was not. Conversation with Provider caused a little scheduling confusion that was further confused due to long raining week that caused a backlog for the Provider. This is understandable. A couple issues not explained in the offer: I had to supply the paint which was not stated but very understandable & I expected this; Offer was to remove shutters, paint, & reinstall, however if shutters are not screwed in they have to be painted in place so as not to damage the siding. This was not stated in the offer but is also understandable. Overall we are pleased with the work, Provider, & cost. Our faded shutters are now like new. Sincerely, {Member's name}

I didn't get the print out for what was included in the $199 and I didn't know that all this other stuff was extra. I called Angie's List because he didn't get in contact with me and it was the third week and they still haven't set up the date. I saw that he called and I went to the phone and he let it ring 2 times. I couldn't get to it at that time. He called another time and it was the same thing. He only would let it ring 2 times and I can't get to it that quickly. Three weeks have gone by and he didn't leave a message so I figured if he can only let it ring 2 times, he is pretty busy. I called Angie's List and then he finally called and I talked to him. He had me on the list and I never knew when they were going to come. They showed up at 7:00 one night. They just finished the deck last week so from April to now, they just finally got it done. They got part of it done and they were putting on the paint in the rain which I felt was stupid. They had white spots all over it. The guy even said when he was leaving that if the white spots won't go away, they'll have to come back and paint it again. He knew they weren't going to go away, it's his job to know that. I had to call again and then it took him 3 weeks to come back because of the rain. They don't let me know when they are coming. They just show up. It was like at 7:00 one night when they were knocking on the door and said they had come to fix our deck. There was no communication. They didn't let me know when anybody was coming. I like to know when somebody is coming. They knocked at my door in the evening when I wasn't expecting anybody. I like a call before they show up so I know who's coming. I thought he is going to come out and give me a contract or something to sign so when they gave me a bill for $400 more, I was kind of bent out of shape asking what it was for. He said it was for the steps that were elevated and for glass work. We were arguing back and forth on the phone. I told him I didn't get a contract or anything. I didn't know what $199 covered. He kept saying it was in the footnote. He finally realized I didn't have anything to say what was covered. He didn't make sure that I had that printout and I didn't even know if there was a printout. There was no communication at all. It was $199 and then added $402 to that. He gave me $30 off so I paid $432. The guys he sent out were good workers. They did a good job except that they painted in the rain. He sent them out too late. They were out there at 9:00 at night and it was getting darker and he said he cannot finish it. They came back to finish it and it rained. It took him 3 trips to finish it up.

Terrible , felt strung along and no work done but he got our money. Disappointed with Angie's list too for this deal.

Excellent! Highly recommended. Company was booked out a month, and gave us a "call us back" date if they hadn't made contact by then. But they called us before then and arranged for the work to be done. When they got to the house, the team of two made short work pulling down the shutters, and even unbolted the eagle from the second floor too, and painted that. Shutters were cleaned and then painted using a sprayer. Drop cloths contained majority of overspray. A little tinged the lawn, but will be gone next mowing. Were careful around our plants under one set of shutters. Project would have taken me a day to complete. Well worth the money!

Went well, worked hard and looks good.

I'm going to change my review to bad.They cleaned up fairly well. A few areas of the deck weren't coated and some areas seemed to be coated thinly. The price was rather high considering the quality of the work. I feel that for the price they need to come back and finish the job completely. I contacted owner about the above issues. He said he would come back and address the complaint. He never came back and did not contact me again. As I stated above the price was really high for a substandard job. I definitely do not recommend them.

The crew that actually did the painting was excellent. They were very personable and profession and ended up putting on three coats of paint instead of two at no additional charge, because the paint wasn't covering as well as had been anticipated. The business owner with whom I dealt over the phone always seemed distracted and couldn't remember why he had called me when I returned his calls. He also was attempting to do several tasks at the same time over the phone, which left me with the impression that my business wasn't very important to him. He was very nice, but his customer service needs work. I came to understand from the crew that the business was inundated with work, and the owner was somewhat overwhelmed. On a positive note, he let me use his professional account number to purchase the paint at a 25% discount.

Very responsive to phone calls. Powerwashed deck. Had to come back a couple of weeks later to stain the deck due to wet, cold weather. When they came to stain the deck, they did a great job of taping off around the house to prevent stain getting on the siding. We used the same color stain that we had used in the past. Looks great. Cleaned up nicely Overall, very happy with the service. Would definitely recommend them.

It went excellent. I had some old stains that appeared to come up when they pressure washed the deck. When the restained the deck, the stains that didn't fully come up seemed to blend well into the new stain.

Terry contacted me within a day or two of buying the Angie' List Deal. He stopped by the home to estimate the work and called with the total price. He also told me about other services his company offers, for future information. We agreed on the work and price. He had it completed by the date we talked about. The deck & lattice look great. The work site was kept clean. I'd definitely recommend The Deck Doctor. I'm going to have him power wash the house, once all the spring bugs are gone.

The deal didn't the full deck because it was too large, so I had to cancel it. It would have cost me an additional $700. He was very nice, polite, and straightforward when he came. He seemed very ethical, and didn't try to get me on the hook for something and then tack on extra cost afterward.

The contractor was perfect. He responded quickly and did a great job. The job was also fairly priced. Everything came out beautiful

It went very well. The walls were painted a dark turquoise and he was able to cover it in one coat.

Everything went well, no issues, the deck looked as good as new.
