+ -1 moreWinnen was very quick to respond and schedule the work. Employee came at scheduled time, performed the job, but had to charge a bit extra unexpectedly to get the installation completed. (Sorry I can't remember exactly why)

I called her at 10:30 AM, and she called back within an hour, she said she would send someone out for an estimate but it may not be until after 3 PM, at about 5:30 PM there was a truck at my home, and he was there for a second opinion. The first person who came out to check the work wanted a second opinion to see if the front gutters needed replaced as well. When he left he said she could call me with an estimate, and within a half hour she called with an estimate. She said it would take 7-10 days before they could get to the work and they finished another job early and did the work the next day.
Description of Work: Replaced the gutters on the back of my house and the downspout.

cabinet refacing, handyman service
+ 0 moreMy experience from the un professional company that claims to be so reasonable is that one should always get a written contract . Not just a telephone discussion. She give me an estimate on the phone because the job was just to small to send a handyperson for an estimate. She said cabinates are usually 3-4 hours and her person is very reliable and ontime. I even discussed with her regarding a previous rating where they recieved a D and F. She told me that it was all lies and a competator was trying to write lies and she did not know who that person was. Obviously they weren't all lies...I experienced similar. I'm glad he did not showup...their disappointment tu rn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Description of Work: I called this company to have cabinet hardware and a kitchen blind place. She tols me that it takes appox 3 -4 hours for the job since the cabinet did not have hardware previously. She give me a price of $280.00. I took off from work, because she told me the handy person would be at my home at 755-0800. However, the day of the job...I waited till 0825 and called the company to ask where the handy man was. She made it seem as though it's was no big deal that he was late. Everything we discussed previously was changed...she said "I told you he would be there between 8-8:15, and the job was now suppose to be six hours. I was just so surprise for the unprofessionalism from the the provider.

+ -1 moreThe estimator was nice and seemed competent. The person who actually did the work was not. Came to "look things over" then disappeared for an hour and 15 minutes to "purchase materials". The materials turned out to be a tube of caulk. Of course I had to pay for his time at their 90 dollar per hour rate to purchase this 5 dollar tube of sealant which is available 5 minutes away at Lowes. He had to travel to a supply house 30 minutes away he said because that is where they buy all their materials. Why he didn't have a tube of sealant on his truck anyhow when they KNEW they had to fix a leaky skylight I don't know. The actual work took about 40 minutes. 1 month later the window started leaking again...

+ -1 moreMy experience with them has been excellent. They have done work for me for probably eight years. Their price was fair. The one who runs it comes in, gives a straight quote, how much it would cost, and gives you a good estimate. The workers always show up on-time. They are very professional, and they do the work. I have not had any complaints with the work that they had done. I don't need to use any other handyman services because they cover such a wide range. If they can't cover it they give me referrals to other people, who also do good work.

+ 4 moreThe process was very painless. Workers were extremely courteous (I work out of my home, so I was there all the time), used drop cloths, cleaned up each day and were efficient.
Description of Work: One wall was removed to open an area and another wall was put up to create a walk-in closet. For removed walls, walls and ceiling were patched and sanded, including ceiling texture. For closet created, there was also a light put in and doorway created.

There was some confusion on the scheduling but they responded and rescheduled other work to make sure my request was met. They did great work and I would recommend them to anyone. I am also planing on other work that needs to be accomplished on my home.
Description of Work: The back steps/deck of my house needed to be removed to retrieve some keys that had been dropped. They removed and replaced three boards and also retrieved the keys. All with in a couple of hours.

Description of Work: I had a variety of jobs that I needed to have done and the folks at Winnen Handyman Services did a great job with them. I had a couple holes in dryway that needed to be patched and then sanded. They did a great job with it. Another hole that was in my bathroom was covered with an access cover so that the plumbing behind it would remain accessible. I also had a broken window which I wanted to have replaced. When we got out the replacement window that was in the basement, the glass was marked with something. They took the window to the window repair shop and then returned with it later and replaced the window. I also asked them to clean my gutters which they did the same day. They also installed a shower door for me.

+ 5 moreI was very happy with them but when I call them now, it says that the phone is disconnected so I don't know if they have gone out of business. I haven't tried for a while to call them. A woman, Ann Winnen, owns it. She has done so much for me. I am always happy with everything they do. She is very cooperative. She always gets back to me, which is why this is strange. She is quite honest. If they say they are going to pull in the driveway at 8:30, then they pull in the driveway at 8:30. Once her worker backed into my garage door and it wasn't really bad, but she had the whole garage door replaced.
Description of Work: I used Winnen Handyman Services to completely redo my bathroom the last time I used her. She installed a new floor, new commode and sink. She painted and put up all new racks for the towels and shower curtain. She also did a new medicine cabinet and lights.

+ 0 moreI was completely happy with the cement part of the job. I thought they did a fine job. I wasn't too pleased with the weather stripping; as a matter of fact, it has come back off. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. They weren't too outrageous in their price. I would call them back again. I don't remember them having problems with responsiveness or punctuality. They have different people do different types of work. He did a good job of trying to figure out how to fix the issue.
Description of Work: I had a door installed, and I don't believe it was installed correctly because you could see light. I wanted them to put weather stripping in there. On the outside, they put in a little cement.

Ann Winnen advised that her company could provide the service and sent Chris to install the floor. I provided all of the material and he installed a subfloor first and then did a perfect job on the linoleum. I was happy with the work and will be using them again.
