I had a gas furnace, A/C and thermostat installed. I went through a long process deciding who to hire. After checking credentials, reviews, testimonials and interviewing four contractors, I chose Brandon Heating and Air Conditioning. Adam came out and explained everything from load calculations to the install process. The technicians were professional, courteous and polite. They wore shoe covers, put down tarp and worked diligently until the job was complete. They did a thorough clean-up. I highly recommend Brandon Heating and Air.

Elderly couple had bad experience with Stow Brandon Heating and AC. Home owners requested service call from Brandon when furnace went out. Outcomes- Thermostat repair made and charge paid/ but, flu pipe leak materialized shortly after Brandon left. Flu pipe never leaked prior to Brandon service call. Home owners points of dissatisfaction: 1. Brandon installed thermostat 3 yrs. earlier. 2. Brandon partial owner response was to deny/deflect responsibility refusing to address citing no relationship between thermostat repair and flue pipe leaking. Home owner not suggesting usual thermostat/flu pipe relationship. Suggesting leak due to the tech’s work on furnace while trouble shooting no heat problem. No one watched Tech while he was working on the furnace but HIGHLY COINCIDENTAL that leak started shortly after Tech left. 3. Also, Brandon Tech cited need for thermostat line to be looked @ by electrician first and to call them back if electrician did want to service the line. Electrician service call invoice showed 120 volt line to furnace ok and also checked upstairs and downstairs stat connections. Electrician comment not sure why he was called and lines to furnaces were the work of heating companies and not electricians. Why would Tech leave a job if more work was needed/looking to cause another service call expense? 4. Another expense absorbed by homeowner from new heating company address flu pipe leak due to Brandon flat our refusal to consider leak was ACCIDENTALLY caused from Tech ‘s work on basement furnace.

1.Thermostat installed by Brandon Heating 6/7/2017 w/AC Installation. No service or maintenance since installation date. 2.Brandon response to customer stated thermostat and flue are not related. Brandon would return to look at leak and if found to be caused by Brandon Heating, there would be no diagnostic charge. If leak was due to another issue, diagnostic fee would be charged and customer would be quoted repair price.Customer declined return service call. 3. At time of service, technician diagnosed wiring issue from thermostat to furnace. Technician advised customer of wiring issue and stated that he could run a new wire or customer could call electrician. Customer stated they had electrician to use and declined repair. Technician performed temporary fix to ensure the furnace would continue to kick on until electrician could run new wire. Electrician service call indicated no issues since a temporary fix was in place. Customer did not give electrician proper instruction based on diagnosis by Brandon technician. Diagnosis of faulty wire was clearly stated on Service Invoice provided to customer at 11/13/21 service call. Technician did not leave job unfinished. Customer declined services but technician made sure furnace was running at time of visit so customer was not left without heat. 4. After customer refused to allow Brandon Heating to return to look at flue leak, Brandon Heating agreed to reimburse the customer for the diagnostic charge from the HVAC company they chose to look at the flue issue. Rather than contacting Brandon Heating with the findings to seek reimbursement, the customer decided to file 3 complaints. *Note: Customer filed complaint with BBB 1/4/22. Customer dissatisfied with Brandon Heating response. BBB closing case remarks: “Though, the consumer indicated they are not satisfied BBB has determined your company addressed the issues within the complaint.” - Customer filed complaint/1-star review with Google 1/16/22. Brandon Heating responded to review with facts related to service call.

As before when I reviewed them, they not only got the job done, but these are sincerely good people who care. It's winter. It's freezing. My furnace stopped working. I bundled up, put my puppies in their sweaters, turned the space heaters on, and called them ASAP. They fit me right in. The men who came out were, as always, friendly, very professional, and nice to have working in the house. A part was needed that could have taken a couple days to receive; yet, they went and got it, and were back within a couple hours ... and then, there was heat! They are highly professional and skilled. What sets them above so many others though is that they are also honest, kind, and caring people who go out of their way to make sure the customer is safe and comfortable.

In this freezing weather, my furnace stopped yesterday, and with the luck I've had recently, I was worried to call anyone. I went to Angie's List and saw another of the TOP Providers (as is Brandon) who actually recommended Brandon Heating and Air Conditioning. As busy as they were, they were booked until tomorrow; yet, they said they would try to fit me in, and someone was here by 3:00 today. He (Josh) was certainly professional and knowledgeable to the point he knew immediately what the problem was; yet, he also was so kind and pleasant to have in the home. Not only are the dogs and my frozen nose warm again, but to have good people do a job well and in such an honest and pleasant manner, they added a warm feeling to the day!

A technician came out to service and diagnose the problem and fixed a few other minor issues. Another technician came out to replace the motor and a few other parts within a week (we still had heat and we chose to schedule it this way). The technicians were prompt, polite and professional. Everything is much quieter in our house now. Very satisfied.

They are excellent. I have been using them now for 10 years. As far as I'm concerned they are very fair people. They've always responded. I have a contract with them; I have no problems at all. Years ago, I had a problem with the air conditioner. It went out. I called the company that had previously done our work. Their person who came out to give the estimate for the new a/c I found to have been lying. I called Carrier and told them I had not had the unit that long. They said they would give me a new compressor but I had to pay a company to install it. I called around to contractors to install the compressor. This salesman came out, he got on the phone and said he was talking to Carrier and gave me a song and dance about what Carrier was going to do for me. Something didn't sound right so I called Carrier and asked if they spoke to him and they said no. That disqualified them. So I called Brandon and asked them what their price was to put in a new compressor. They gave me a good price. they were fair about it. I've been with Brandon ever since. I've been treated very fairly by them so I stay with them.

Darren arrived on time . He provided the following service: (furnace clean) Checked the air filter, blower, flame sensor, ignition, burners, exchangers, flame safety, pressure safety, 3.1 wc gas outlet temperature rise rated @ 30-60/50 actual, 83.9 efficient, 63 ppm Co AF . The furnace was operating properly. The furnace is aging and when we need to replace it we will use Branden.

As I mentioned, they cancelled on me late in the day stating they do not come to portion of Portage co. that I live in. So they did no service and I had to go several more days without heat before I could get someone else out here. I feel as it was their mistake and they cancelled on me late on a Friday that they should have come out anyways as a professional courtesy. It put me in a very difficult position as I had turned away other repair centers that I had called b/c I thought I had this company coming out to me. They need to specify that they do not service all of Portage co., the listing didn't say 'portions of Portage Co.'. They had my address when I made the appointment. Severely disappointed and would not recommend.
Description of Work: Scheduled a same day appointment with office for later in the day, around 3:30pm. I live in portage county which they say they service. Received call shortly before appointment stating they made a mistake and don't service all of portage county. Had to wait several days to get someone else out here as other providers who had called me back the same day I had turned down b/c I thought I had someone coming. They should have still come out, it was their mistake.

As the owner I'm very sorry for this misunderstanding but for us to provide consistent and reliable service to this location( 45 to 60 minutes from our office) would be impossible. We not only have to take into consideration the ability to run the initial call but be able to provide emergency service to this area,which in this case we would not be able to do. I personally made this decision and instructed my office person to inform the customer that there several quality companies that were much closer and could provide service to this customer in the Garrettsville area. Again we want to apologize but to service this area is just not possible for a company of our size

Based on some simple research (home advisor and redbeacon), the average cost to have a basic thermostat installed should be between $100.00 & $113.00. Not $200.00. Since I am providing the thermostat, $200 seemed unreasonable. Given that I used and paid $174.00 for their services on two recent occasions, I expected them to treat me fairly. I now feel foolish for thinking that. I am an extremely loyal customer when I receive good service at a fair price. I gave this company a great review in 2014 for service work they performed back then. I am sure that I can install my own thermostat, but I didn't want to try it during a week when the daytime temperatures won't go above 20 degrees. In the event that I had a problem with the installation, I didn't want to be without heat. So since they do this work all the time, I preferred to have them do it. The installation consists of removing the old one, installing two screws and connecting 5 wires. Since it is a basic electronic thermostat, there is no programming.
Description of Work: Repairs were made on two previous visits at a cost of $125.00 and $54.00. The technician was very courteous and did a great job. The repair cost was for labor which took about 1/2 hour and about 15 minutes respectively. I was very pleased with the technician and his work. However, when I initially called for service I asked if I could also get a new thermostat installed. The lady told me that the technicians carry them on their trucks. So on the first visit I asked the technician if he could install a new thermostat after repairing the furnace problem. He said that he could, but they carry only very basic thermostats on their truck. So if I would like a nicer one, I should purchase it and then call them to install it. He wrote on the service invoice that I was buying a new thermostat and would call them to have it installed next week. He documented it so that I should not have to pay for another service call, but only the cost for installation. I purchased a high quality basic thermostat (non-wifi and non-programmable) with a large display and received it the following week after their 2nd service call. I called their office and asked the lady if I could schedule the installation. She asked me to hold-on and put me on hold. A couple of moments later a guy named Mike asked if he could help me. I told him that I wanted to schedule to have my thermostat installed. He said; ;"We don't install customer thermostats, because of warranty issues." I told him that I don't want a warranty. He said we still can't do it. After my continued insistence, he finally said he would ask the owner. He came back on the line and said "I guess we can install it." He said he could schedule it to be done in a couple of days and it would be $200.00. I responded by asking "are you kidding me?" He simply said; "that is cost."

I would like to apologize to the customer if there was any misunderstanding but in reviewing the two previous service calls from 2/17/2015 and 2/20/2105 to the customer’s home, we state that we will be called to install the customer’s part We did not say that there would not be additional service charges if we were to be called out for an “unrelated” call. Frankly, we don’t know if or when the customer might call us to do the job. To say that there would be no service charge would not be prudent and, in addition, installing a customer purchased part is an unrelated call and would be subject to a basic service charge along the labor needed to complete the job requested. Even though the customer stated that he is very loyal customer we only show 1 previous call other than the two noted above. A job of this nature not only requires experience and knowledge, but also involves risk on the company’s behalf. We don’t know really what the part actually is, we don’t know if it is compatible with the customers heating unit, and what parts would be needed if it’s not compatible. Then there is a required warranty on the work performed as stated on our service ticket. We proposed the job covering all of those contingencies and the price could have been adjusted downward based on the actual costs incurred. Calls of this nature have shown us that even though we do not supply the part we do become responsible for it, its performance and any associated labor for a 90 day period of time. We use a nationally recognized flat rate pricing system that prices on the tasks, not hours, and has been tailored to meet our cost and overhead structures. This system is designed to be fair to the customer while allowing the company to make a modest profit at the end of the each year, hopefully keeping us in business. The pricing structure is also set up to allow a proper distribution of overhead to be placed on both parts and labor. When the portion of overhead is removed for a parts sale, additional overhead must be paced on the labor side keeping the company viable. In reviewing our proposal to this customer and based on our experience in these situations, our pricing was not out of line. Again, as a company, we apologize if there was any misunderstand but in order to continue to prove qualified professional service we must charge what we do.

The technician showed up right when the dispatcher said he would. There was an electrical/wiring failure in the furnace which was diagnosed and identified quickly. Technician spent most of the time monitoring the furnace after the fix to make sure no problems would surface again. I also received a 30-day grace period where, if there was another problem with the furnace, the fee for the service call would be waived. Can't ask for anything more. Will hire again.

First impressions of the company were positive during several calls to the office to setup the appointment. I received a reminder call a day before to confirm that the appointment still worked for me. The tech, Jason, called me an hour prior and asked if he could stop by earlier, no problem. Arrived promptly, truck clean, in good condition, well organized. He listened to my description of the problem, then spent time troubleshooting. Once he figured out the issue, he clearly communicated what was wrong and the options to repair it, entertaining all of my questions. Received a quote to do the repair and an expectation of when and how long it would take. This is the first time I needed work to be done on my furnace, in 10 years or so, and I did not have a contractor prior to this. I will call Brandon again next year for a full furnace inspection, very happy with this first experience.
