SMITTY'S WHOLESALE CARPET WRHS

The floor is uneven and crumbling. Smitty's refused to replace. Smitty's ignored the BBB, Ohio Attorney General and a report from a certified floor inspector. This floor is used by 2 80+ seniors that use walkers and is hazardous.

Plesae read this before considering buying carpeting from SMITTY's Here is a word of advice for those shopping for carpeting DO NOT SHOP AT SMITTY?S CARPETING. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, you will be ripped off. When you are quoted a price and when it is PAID IN FULL, they come back and tack on extra money when the mistake was SMITTY?S CARPETING. I asked Mike why it was okay for the girl who checked us out, who had the correct room measurements, quoted us a price for the roomful of carpeting and padding and paid it in full on 12 Nov 15. They came to measure the room on 18 Nov 15. Over the weekend on 21 Nov 15, SMITTY?S CARPETING (A woman) called the house during the day (I was sleeping since I work midnights) and said they would need another $70.00 on top of what I already paid. The $70.00 was supposed to be for the padding which was supposed to be included in the above mentioned quote. I called them 23 Nov 15 to find out why I had to incur a mistake on their part. I told them this would cost them business since I plan on carpeting other room in the house. Mike immediately said don?t threaten me, the numbers don?t lie. I was infuriated at the way I was treated and before I had a chance to say much else, Mike said I will mail your money back to you. This indicates to me that SMITTY?S CARPETING and their representatives are allowed to treat customers like they are lower than the dirt and crap on their shoes and get away with it. Furthermore, they will NEVER own up to their mistakes and eat costs when it means keeping a customer. I do own a business( not carpeting) but if one of my representative quotes a price that is incorrect ( read low) to a customer and that customer has PAID IN FULL, (I have learned from the best), you eat the cost to keep a customer, no matter the cost. I guess they never heard of the business saying, " The customer is always right even when they are wrong." but in this case I wasn't wrong at all.

After about 10 months, one of their carpet seems started to pull apart. I called Smitty himself and he told me he would send somebody over the following week. Nobody ever showed up.

The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the work was done by an employee who came after 5pm and on the weekend. Other than that, he was very nice and the job was done well.

Went to the store on March 6th and the carpet was installed on the 15th. So from start to finish took 9 days. Another company said it would take 4 weeks. Was promptly greeted upon entering the store though the employee was unable to give me pricing information (apparently only Smitty does that). After spending about an hour looking at all the carpet styles and colors available I set up an appointment for them to measure for the next day. Unlike some companies, Smitty's offers free estimates. Smitty called me later that evening with the quote and I ordered the carpet the next day and it was installed the following week. As for the install, I was happy with Tim (Morris) and John. They were very professional, they spent nearly the entire day installing the carpet (they had some issues with getting the ramp installed appropriately). The carpeting on the stairs looks great, no ragged edges. The carpeting along the tile also looks great, you can't tell that the basement floor is/was uneven. There appeared to be some minor dings in some drywall, but the dings will either be covered by baseboard trim or can be easily patched.
