These guys were simply amazing. We called Phil during the winter and he came out to take measurements of the patio and talk to my wife and I about block and colors. About a week later we received an email from him with 2 CAD drawings of what the patio would look like, and a contract with the price for both. My wife and I gathered the funds up and called him on Monday, sent him 1/2 the money to purchase the block and secure the date. He came out that Saturday with his foreman. They got my wife and I's take on what we wanted and where everything was going to be ran, drained, etc. Phil and the foreman said it would take about 3 weeks to get everything done providing the weather holds out. We went over a slew of details from the color of the block again, to where to run the drainage, and even what to do with the dirt, concrete, and shrubs that would be dug out. We had an area for the dirt, but he was kind enough to haul away the concrete and shrubbery away for me. That following Monday, They came in with a crew, a plan, the equipment, and by the time I got home from work, I had an 18' x 28' rough hole dug out where the new patio would be. His foreman also found the root of the drainage problems and it would be resolved when everything was in place. Every day when I arrived home, the job foreman was there, he greeted me and shook my hand, showed me the progress. He also asked me my thoughts every step of the way, where I wanted to see things ran, gave me options if I wanted to change things and made certain that both he and I were on the same page with what was going on. he also showed me where the new drainage tie-ins were to put the rest of the downspouts when that time came. The last night I came home, the stone was on the floor of the patio and they had installed the poly-sand which hardens and prevents weeds but still allows water to permeate through to drain away. I came around the corner and my jaw hit the floor. The quality of workmanship is incredible, and the patio is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I were upset we couldn't go out that night and use it, but poly sand takes roughly 24 hours of cure time. They actually worked so fast they ran out of block. The entire project took 7 1/2 days. I called 4 other places to get estimates. Three others came out to the house, and of those three, one gave me a price of between $9 and $15K, never offered to show us any materials, and never followed up with me again after that. The other two after the initial measurements were taken, never called me back. I decided that I wasn't going to chase them around to get things done. Phil was higher on price than the other contractors, HOWEVER, the service I got from him far exceeded my expectations. He was the ONLY contractor that I talked to that provided us with designs with 2 sizes of patio, followed up with us, and stood behind his word, and his time frame. He gave me an exact price of what the patio would cost, upfront, and kept in contact with me. He started when he said he would, and came in almost a week and a half faster to finish the project than he had thought. His crew was fast, reliable, courteous, and very efficient. We even left the downstairs opened for them to use the bathroom and get in out of the sun and get water if they needed to. The next time we need land or hardscaping done, I'm not even going to hesitate to call Phil first.
Description of Work: New 18' x 28' patio with sitting wall and resolved drainage issues with the house. Also had overgrown shrubbery removed and reseeded the lawn.
