VINCE REFUSE SVC

If you are at all serious about recycling, do not use this company. I moved to the area in early summer and Vince was recommended to me, so I signed up for trash pick-up and recycling. After several weeks, I realized that the trash truck was simply picking up my recycling and taking it away with the trash. It took two or three phone calls (and my actually going out and speaking to the trash collectors one time) before they began sending the recycling truck into my neighborhood. They claim that there are other recycling customers in my neighborhood, but I have seen the recycling truck turn around in my driveway and head out of the neighborhood, so the other customers may not realize that their recycling is simply going out with the trash. Fast forward to last week. Trash service was delayed by one day because of the holiday, so we put our trash and recycling out on Christmas night, for pick-up the next morning. The recycling was never picked up - they claim it wasn't out when they drove by. Not true. (Incidentally, the trash truck didn't have a problem collecting our trash.) I called and was told that I'd have to save our recycling and put it out this week because they couldn't come back to our neighborhood. So we put the trash out last night and this morning they only took half the recycling - we had a lot due to them not coming last week, plus Christmas, plus houseguests. The trash truck apparently took the rest of it as trash. I called again and was told that I had too much cardboard out there and that their truck wasn't big enough to take everything. I was then told that maybe I shouldn't be their customer anymore and that maybe I should call Waste Management. Vince has very nice people who answer the phone, but their business ethic leaves a lot to be desired.
