Mr. Mower

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Please take the time to read this review. I am active duty military and was out of town for a military related training. I used Mr. Mower to cut, edge, and weed whack my lawn while I was away. Apparently, this company hired subcontractors to help them catch up on work after Dayton had extensive rain. When I returned from my military training two weeks later, I saw the damage to my lawn, noticed my lawn was not edged or weed whacked, and then was made aware by my elderly neighbors how terrible this company was. Two individuals (male and female) showed up in a beat up truck, no uniforms, in flip flops with push mowers. They were complaining and cussing the entire time they were mowing the lawn. They did not edge, weed whack, or blow the clippings off the lawn. The clippings sat on my lawn in clumps for two weeks until I got back from my training and caused my lawn to have burns in it. They were about to leave when my elderly, disabled neighbor politely asked them if they were going to blow the clippings off the sidewalk and driveway and the man became angry. He called her a fat b***h and told her to mind her business. He ended up getting out of the truck and blew the clippings off the driveway and sidewalk, again yelling and cussing the entire time. When he finished he yelled at her saying is that good enough for you? Next time mind your f***ing business. Then threatened her saying he will be back in two weeks and “just you wait.” (I had only hired Mr. Mower for a one time service, so I’m unsure why he said this.) Then he proceeded to drive around the block twice each time yelling obscenities at my elderly, disabled neighbor. I did not find out about this until a week after I returned (so, 3 weeks after the service). My neighbor was afraid the man would come back and damage her property because he was so irate. The service was performed on July 12 2021 and I did not receive an invoice until August 4 2021. When I received the invoice, I had reached out to Aaron, the owner of Mr. Mower. I explained the situation to him in detail. I asked him to waive the invoice in its entirety because of the issues with the lawn, not receiving all of the services, and how my neighbors were treated. His response to me was that he was sorry for the service, he had fired the subcontractors, and that they did not represent the standard of Mr. Mower but unfortunately since weeks have passed since the service, the invoice stood. Weeks had passed because I was out of town… after multiple email exchanges back-and-forth, I gave him different solutions to right this wrong. The options presented were to waive the invoice in its entirety, or to come back and provide a quality standard of service. His response to me was that the invoice stood and that it would be moved to collections within the upcoming week. I then tried to call him because I believe this should be handled over the telephone and not via back-and-forth exchanges on email. I received his voicemail, so I sent him a text message requesting that he call me. He said he was mowing a lawn at the moment, but that everything that needed to be said has been said and he will be sending my bill to collections. He refused to call me to discuss. Their website states “we founded this company around the idea of knowledgeable teamwork combined with ideals of providing the best quality standard of service for every customer. We make sure each member of our team understands best practices…Our company pays special attention to the details of our work to ensure the complete satisfaction of each client. We will make sure your lawn is properly mowed and edged…we treat our clients like family.” I had the exact opposite experience and when I presented solutions to fix the issue I was presented with even worse customer service. I have no issue paying for a service done properly, however this was not the case. On top of the invoice, he charged me a late fee, and keeps threatening collections. This $50 lawn service has cost me even more money and weeks of my time to fix my lawn from the damage Mr. Mower caused. Do not use this company because they provide poor lawn service and even worse customer service.
