Mr Grimes started out as a very nce man. His biggest problem is he does NOT think he should be held accountable for his committments and or actions. He wants the money but then gets busy with personal hobby's and doesn't have time to complete the job correctly! One of the reasons I hired him was he said he was a policman in London, Ohio so I figured he would be reliable and honest! Now, I'm sure he feels I'm intimidated by him being a policeman. I think we are all equal and poor business practices should be practiced by ALL. When Mr Grimes can't spend the time needed he then hires inadequate help and leaves them with NO TOOLS to do the job. So, I had to let employee use mine then needed to give the guy a ride afterwards. I was told this project would take a couple of weeks. It ended up taking almost 2 months and now Mr. Grimes won't respond and come and complete the job. I kept texting and calling Mr. Grimes throughout the project becasue he had excuses almost daily on why he couldn't come. It was either his work schedule or an injury or he couldn't find product etc...etc. On time he had to run a marathon then dropped a total stranger off at my house to work! I do have ALL TEXTS messages that can prove how many times I was promised the job would be completed only to be delayed over and over again. I had to cancel 3 events at my home because my yard was torn up and muddy. I'm a disabled widow and it took me approximately 10 hours to clean up my yard and install a barrier around pond and trees that Mr. Grimes should have installed. The border helps keeps the gravel from rolling onto the grass. I thought all lanscapers knew that. During the week of June 27th I had to attend a seminar. On June 30th Mr Grimes text me and said job was completed but, when I arrived home it was a diseaster. I do have pictures showing trash, cement dried onto my grass. I've left voicemail messages and texts since then approximately 12 total and Mr Grimes does NOT repsond. Now I've received a NEW INVOICE which is totally different from OUR ORIGINAL AGREEMENT/CONTRACT in the amount of an ADDITIONAL $2724.60 AND IT IS BACKDATED to May 25, 2011. I was never asked nor given ANY type of CHANGE ORDER for anything! And I DID NOT request ANY CHANGES per the original agreement.. In fact one time Mr Grmes mentioned buying more rock and I said "no, there are plentys of rocks in my front and back yard" Mr. Grimes complained that that took longer to do it that way. "But, I can't afford to buy rock" I told him When Mr Grimes stated that he forgot to add the cost of lights to the pond I wrote him a check immediately, which I am still waiting for the receipts. Also the NEW INVOICE is dated May 25th, 2011 which is when the job was started! The Correct Invoice shows a Total of $3255.00 I paid Mr Grimes $1000.00 check #1211 on May 19th to buy materials then paid cash of $1000.00 on May 23rd which I asked him to sign/intial for. This left a balance of $1255.00. I deducted $80.00 for the fish that Mr. Grimes employee killed, $35.00 for the gate being installed. The gate was re hung on a little block og wood and my 3 yorkies got out of the yard. That left a total of $1100.00 which I sent via mail check number 1229 I want Mr. Grimes trash removed from my peroperty since he told me he would take it. My trash company won't take bags of broken concrete plus I can not lift the bags because it's too heavy. I need the receipts from the Pond and the LIGHTS that were installed so that I have them for any Warranty etc.
Description of Work: Installed a pond with waterfall incorrectly. Reinstalled patio rock Added expandable down spouts Reinstalled gate incorrectly Yard was LEFT A MESS! TRASH was left behind!
