This repair was supposed to take 10 days and ended up taking 6 weeks. The transom repair was fairly decent except for the fact that they reused all of the previous hardware. The new trolling motor mount was just slapped over the preexisting piece of aluminum. Now, when I go to mount my trolling motor, I am going to have to drill into the aluminum. The trolling motor deck is also quite a bit smaller than expected (I hope my trolling motor fits onto it). In addition to these issues, I also made 2 different trips to the marina (which is 60 miles away from my house) to pick up the boat (when it was supposed to be ready and was not). I was overcharged by 40ish dollars from the agreed upon price. Very poor experience.
Description of Work: Provider replaced a transom and added a place to mount a trolling motor.

Response from Jake's Marine Services & Power Sports LLC
On the replacement of his transom he was given and estimated price, which does not include TAX. As for using his old hardware yes we used what was in good shape and replaced over 95% using new nut, bolts and screws. When he dropped off his boat he was given an estimated time of completion of 2 to 3 weeks, he also stated to the tec. that worked on his boat that he was in no hurry and we would call when completed. As for the front motor mount the tec. called the customer and asked him what trolling motor he was using and the tec. used the same motor for a templet when he crafted the mount. The only addition to the estimated cost was a lic. braket a one tube of water sealent plus tax. We are very sorry that the customer was unhappy and we could have addressed his issues if he would have just called with his concerns. What with the times we are in we strive for customer satifaction and try our best to make everyone happy in all the work that we performe daily.

I spent $400 on one boat. On my other boat I spent $300 last Friday. I spent a total of $700. I had a very good experience with them. This summer I had a lot of trouble with my boats. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I used Jake's Marine Services & Power Sports for a boat repair. They did winterization and replaced the impeller for the cooling system on both motors.
