The tree was technically on our side of the fence so we insisted to our neighbor that we should pay for it all. The prices was slightly less than another quote. We used J&B years ago and got good service. This time they got here about one hour late for a first thing in the morning job. They did the job and removed the stump as agreed upon. We paid them the full $450 as quoted. A few weeks later our neighbor informed us that they gave him $200 cash to split the bill. J&B never mentioned any of that to us and just took all of our money. My neighbor will be talking to them about this. I don't trust them and wouldn't use them again.
Description of Work: We needed a tree and stump removed that was on the property line with our neighbor.

We had hired Jason's services a few years ago to remove a large pine tree plus grind down the stump. His price was good and his guys did a great job other than after I removed the wood chips I discovered much of the stump was still above ground. This was in the corner of the yard so it wasn't much of an issue for us. Last fall we had to have two trees removed so we called Jason back up and he came out and even though it was late in the day his team worked really well together and were finishing up just before dark. This job also included removing the stumps plus finishing up the initial stump in the corner of the yard. Jason rents the stump grinder and like last time he wanted to wait until he had several stumps to grind before he rented it which I had no issues with. After several conversations and a month had passed though he still hadn't come out and the snows came. I let him know we needed this done early in the spring because we needed to fill the area with topsoil and were planting grass in the entire back yard in early April. The weather broke and Jason had said in many phone calls he will get to us, or he has a stump grinder and will be in the area, or he will get them done next week, sorry I forgot etc. Well after almost two months time I had to rent my own stump grinder and get them done myself for a cost of $190. I had planned on giving Jason another job for my neighbor's stump but since I was doing mine I did hers and it saved me $50. I think Jason has the potential for a great business but when someone pays you for a job you need to finish it no matter what. Jason needs to move from being worker to more of a business owner and start tracking his jobs and returning his phone calls. It's a shame to work so hard to build up good clients and then lose them for any future business opportunities but also losing additional business the clients would pass along. If you plan on paying for his services don't pay everything up front until the job is complete.

They were driving buy, and asked if we had any trees we wanted removed. We did, and their price was slightly better than one we'd previously been quoted by another company. They did the work then, and did a good job.

They agreed to cut down several trees, remove the stumps, and to clean up everything left behind. They asked for partial cash at lunch time on the first day and said they'd be back to finish the job the next day. They never returned and they didn't finish the job, obviously. They also left a mess. I didn't question that, because I knew they were coming back the next day.

J & B Tree Service arrived to cut the fallen tree down the rest of the way. They proceeded to cut the trunk into slices. Then they told us they would need to come back the next day to finish the job. They needed a bigger blade or chain saw. They asked for payment. We paid them. Not only did they not come back the next day, they did not call. Two days later, we called. They said they would be out within 2 days to complete the job. It has been almost 2 weeks. We have called them 3 times. They have not answered any of our calls. They have not come out to finish the job. We will have to hire another company to cut down the stump. My husband has been taking every evening after work to cut the slices into manageable pieces so we can move them. I would never NEVER use this company again. The yard is a mess. The grass is dying under the uncut logs. The stump is still there, and too large for us to cut with our regular joe chain saw. We are doing what we paid them to do. They were unprofessional in not returning calls and in not returning to finish the job.
Description of Work: J & B Tree Service was to take down the remainder of a Cottonwood tree that had fallen in a storm. They were to cut the stump to the ground and cut the trunk into manageable pieces so we could move them.

A worker for the company came to our house saying that they had finished a job and noticed that we had a few hanging limbs that they could cut down. He offered to do the work for $175 to haul the branches away or $100 to leave them. We asked if they were insured and he claimed they were and we agreed to let them do the work for $100 and leave the wood behind. During the cutting we heard and saw one of the branches hit our house but they never came to tell us if it did any damage or not. Once the work was completed I went to inspect the job, noticed all the branches but before I could examine the house the man we had talked to before asked for some water and I went to get it for him forgetting about the house. The man and his crew left very quickly and before I could get back to the house. Upon checking the house I found gaping hole about 8 inches long where they had punched through the siding and into some of the insulation and didn't bother to tell us. I contacted the owner of the company who said that he would be out that night to look over the damage and work out what to do next. He never showed up and never called back. I've called multiple times now and left multiple messages requesting a call back to get this resolved and have never received a call back from him or the company. I've now left a complaint with the attorney general as well and will with the BBB soon. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would advise anyone looking for tree service to find any other company.
Description of Work: Trim 4 large branches that were broken or hanging from the elm tree on the corner of our house.

J&B were throughly and completed the job in a timely manner
Description of Work: We had two large trees down in our yard and large branches from a third on our roof after a July storm. Jason and crew were back on Sunday afternoon (after giving us an estimate on Sat afternoon) to remove the stumps from our downed trees. They returned Monday morning on time to remove the rest of the tree and limbs on the house. They worked steadily through the day, even in 100+ degree heat index removing everything by evening. They beat the price of two other competitors by far. The crew was polite and cleaned up around our house.
