Worst service ever received. They worked on the unit for 2 months, Had the unit at their shop for at least one of the 2 months. They just reinstalled the unit and within 30 minutes it did the very same thing that was the problem in the first place! (we video taped this as proof) When this was pointed out, in writing, their response was to blame the parts manufacturer and my wife! As the excuse to their ineptitude, they stated, twice, that my wife was there at reinstall and saw it tested and said "OK". As if she is suppose to completely analyze in just minutes, what they had 2 months correct! Buyer beware!

Description of Work: Lowes Service notified Carmichaels to service the 9-month old Maytag dryer. They called an hour before arrival time to say the service man knew what the problem was and was ordering the part without diagnosing the machine. | |5-7 days later, no part, despite calls to Carmichael. | |Made appointment with another company through Maytag's own service online and they came the same day when an appointment was dropped in that area. The part Carmichaels thought was bad was not the problem and another part was the problem. Part ordered (from same company Carmichaels ordered their wrong part from) and was available in 48 hours. Repaired. Works fine thanks to another service company.

Description of Work: Found the problem quickly. Broken dryer "dial." Repairman actually suggested we go to Mr. Handy to purchase the part. It was easy to take the old dial off and replace it. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: They claimed I deeded a new dryer, which was false. My dryer still works to this day. To add insult to injury, they charged me a fee for trying to rip me off.

Someone from Carmichael came out to repair my dryer. He said it could not be fixed, but they could sell me a new one. Wanting to get a second opinion, I had someone come from Northside Appliance who was able to fix it. It still works to this day. The guy from Northside said that the guy from Carmichael was simply lazy. This was probably true, but at the time I couldn't help but think that they were deliberately trying to rip me off. Carmichael sent me a bill for $69, which just seemed to add insult to injury. I didn't pay, and they kept sending me more bills with added interest. Finally, I called the store and was treated with unparalleled disdain, insinsativity, arrogance and rudeness. The guy I spoke to was one of the biggest jerks I've ever encountered. He kept insisting that I owed him money and was completely oblivious to my side of the story, stating that his repairmen were the absolute best in the business. He then got a collection agency to sent me a bill for over $600. I called them on the phone and talked to a guy who asked if I'd signed anything. I said, and quot;Noand quot; because I hadn't signed anything. Then he asked, and quot;How are you going to pay for this,and quot; completely ignoring what I had just said. It was like a Kafkaesque nightmare. Of course, you should pay for a service, but ripping someone off is clearly not a real service. Finally I paid the $69 just to avoid the harassment I was getting. I should have taken Carmichael to small claims court, but I just wanted to put it behind me. It's no exaggeration to say I felt like I was raped. With the kind of and quot;serviceand quot; they privide, I don't know how they stay in business.

I had called them to get service. They came out and said my dish washer needed a few things. They ordered the part and they would call when it arrived. They never called, so i called them and they said they did call me. They quoted the part at 350.00 dollars and when they came out to fix the dishwasher they charged me 485.00 dollars. The dish washer wasn't installed correctly and it never needed the part they charged me for. All it needed was a little adjustment. The dish washer was never fixed. i called them again to come back out and i said the problem is still not fixed. They took 5 minutes to adjust my dish washer and now it works fine. I told him that I wasn't going to pay the 500.00 for the most expensive fix when it didn't need it and if not then I would call Angie's List and write a review. He said is that a threat and hung up.

My husband and I live in Cleveland Hts. Ohio and were visiting my mother-in-law in Springfield, Ohio for Mother's Day. Her Whirlpool refrigerator quit on Mother's Day and she lost a lot of food. My mother-in-law lives alone and has very limited mobility, as she suffers from MS. She doesn't drive. My husband and I *really* needed to get this refrigerator fixed, because my mother-in-law needed us to take her to the grocery store to get more food before we went back home to Cleveland. We waited for my mother-in-law's handyman guy who does her yard work to come and take a look at the fridge all day Sunday, and he never showed. Then Monday morning the the 14th, I found Carmichael's on Angie's List. We called them first thing in the morning and they sent someone out within an hour or two. The repairman (Scott, I think) was very professional, found the problem and fixed it promptly. The relay switch that turns on the compressor needed to be replaced. My husband and I were also impressed with the fact that Scott called his supervisor to get the part replenished that he had just used, while he was still at my mother-in-law's house. I wish we had called Carmichael's first instead of waiting all day Sunday for the guy who never showed. I think we would use them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Mother-in-law's refrigerator had stopped working. Repairman diagnosed the problem; it was a faulty relay that turns on the compressor in the refrigerator/freezer. He replaced it and made sure the refrigerator was working. He put a cup of water in the freezer and told us when that started to freeze, we could put food back into it.

I had to call Mr. Perks twice, just to place my order. I was told my refrigerator would be in, in about a week. I again had to call a week later to find out if it was in. I was then told I would get a call the next morning to be given a two hour window for delivery. I again had to call them at 11:30 am to find out it would be delivered between 3 and 5pm. Although I took correct measurments to Mr. Perks our refridgerator was too tall and a cabanet had to be cut for it to fit. The delivery guys were very professional and carefull. I will only give them credit.

Responsive to set up appoint and come out within a couple of days. They listened to what was occuring and took the necessary corrective action to rule out any possible leaks by taking the washer apart.
Description of Work: Pulled stackable washer apart for possible leak. Determined that a portion of the water was bouncing off the clothes and causing a leak. Explained work around. No further problems. Great service!

I was remodeling my kitchen and purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher from Lowes. The pedestal for the dishwasher was constructed and dishwasher unpacked and installed, I removed the materials packed inside the dishwasher. I noticed the top rack was off its track and hanging down. There was no way for me to fix this problem. I phoned Lowes, they suggested I phone Frigidaire which I did. Frigidaire gave me several repair companies to contact. Carmichaels Appliance Repair said they could come out the next day to look at the problem so I made an appointment. The repair person arrived right on schedule, located and fixed the problem right away. He was very instructive, showed me the features on my new dishwasher and how to use them. He was very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: My new dishwasher had a defect, the top shelf wasn't connected to the side track. Carmichael's repair person fixed the problem. He put the top dishwasher rack on the track. The rack moves smoothly in and out of the dishwasher as it's supposed to.

Most of the service persons have been very professional. One refused to go back to the store to get a part he didn't have on the truck (a 15 min drive). My problem is with the main office. When I call they cannot find our name on the computer. I requested a knob for my stove, they never called me back. Last October the repairman came to our house and said he would order a replacement part for our stove. After several weeks I called the store and was told that the part was no longer available. We went to the store and looked at new stoves but decided to just live with the problem. Now, a year later the stove is behaving badly. With the help of Drake heating and air I have discovered that the manufacturer has authorized for this part to be rebuilt. We were never informed about this by Charmichaels. I will never call them again.
Description of Work: I have used this company for 11 years mainly because they had serviced the appliances before we bought the house. Appliances serviced were stove, microwave, and dishwasher.

THEY CAME IMMEDIATELY AFTER I CALLED. THE WORKER WAS THOROUGH AND MADE SURE THAT NOTHING ELSE WAS WRONG WITH THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE HE LEFT. HE DID A GOOD JOB BECAUSE IT IS RUNNING FINE NOW.
