Geek Squad - Best Buy

I was very happy with everything. They got it back within a good amount of time. They credited me for the diagnosis, which was a real suprise.

They've got the best price. The quality of their products are great. They were very responsive with attending to my needs.

Horrible. When you buy your computer the salesman tells you it "covers everything"-spill coffee on it, run over it with your car, drop it down the steps-big fat lie! The computer had problems from the start. Their answer-viruses and for an additional $150 they would clean the viruses from the computer. We did pay, they installed anti-virus and had the same poor performance. Took it back, they blamed the anti virus program. This cycle continued over and over for almost the whole 3-yr warranty period. A few months of marginal use out of the computer then major freeze-up. Back in, offered the virus service($150). It amazed me that Best Buy would defend a faulty computer. With their buying power and leverage they could have shipped it back to the manufacturer for a replacement after about the 4th, 5th, or 6th repair. It seemed to me that they were interested in making more money from their Geek Squad.

I wouldn't use them again. I bought all the components, and they wouldn't bargain at all. I should have walked out. They offered no deals. Then we couldn't get the wireless to work, so we had to hire Geek Squad - for another $1,250. I'd rather have a full service company that, if spend $1,000 on a computer, will help you make sure it actually works. On top of that, the rebate paperwork was deliberately overcomplicated, so they could dissuade folks from applying. And it took months, and several calls, to get the rebates.

The technician was on time and very professional. He worked for almost four hours and managed to remove all problems from our computer. He explained what he was doing at all times. Very knowledgeable.

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS INSTALLATION JOB BECAUSE THE WORKER WHO INSTALLED THE UNIT DRILLED AN UNNECESSARY HOLE IN A CAR THAT WAS LESS THAN SIX MONTHS OLD AND DIDN'T EVEN TELL US ABOUT IT, I FOUND IT. THEN THEY GAVE US THE RUN AROUND ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED. THE XM RADIO IS ALSO LOCATED IN AN UNATTRACTIVE PLACE IN MY CAR.
