TruGreen Lawn Care - 5670

Performing well. As far as cost. Falls in line with what I would be paying if I did this myself. Plus I’m a novice so I’m glad they brought the experience I was lacking.

They are good. We've not had any problems

We've had them for years. They always do a good job. It's a good price. We've seen others do our neighbors and they don't look as good so they do good. They are always here when they say they're going to be here. They are very good. They are always punctual and professional. If you have any questions they are always willing to talk to you. They do always come to the door fist adn let you know they are here. The workers are very conscientious, very courteous, good workers, very friendly.

They've done a good job with the lawn, they've burned a few spots. I think that probably goes with the territory.

I’m not sure if I would use them again. The main reason I didn’t use them anymore was because I didn’t think the results to the yard were that great. So, I switched to another company.

I haven't shopped around. They give me a price for year long service and I pay it. I haven't even called other lawn care companies. Quality is perfect. They come on their own schedule, so I never call them. They call them the day before and they always arrive when they say they will.

They are fine. I haven't had any problem with them. Since I'm still using them and haven't gone to someone else. I've used them for 6 years or more.

Not sure what they put in my lawn but the weeds were worse than when they started and I got moles now. Had to call twice for retreating weeds

My yard looked good but the prior company would dig up my yard with their equipment so I switched to Scotts/Trugreen. By August I had weeds everywhere and I had to call for extra applications twice (free per the 100% guarantee) A couple of days after the free application, they came again for my “normal” application. At this point I cancelled my service. They completed two more applications after I had cancelled. Called and said they were sending me to collection so I paid for one and it ended.

They effectively killed the weeds, and they do what they say.

They were constantly calling us or showing up wanting to do extra service or treatment. Even when we tell them no over the phone they still showed up. If we hadn’t been here on one occasion they would have done the service that we told them we didn’t want. It wasn’t the guy who showed up fault, he was told to come but the office didn’t appear to be communicating with the field people. They would apologize but that is the way they work. The work was fine and they notified us ahead of time and I liked that. I don’t think we would go because of their sales and marketing practices.

They were not satisfactory. It was like $140 a month. They were probably average on price. They were on their own schedule, they just had to come out once a month. When they were in the area, they came by at our house and treated the lawn. I didn't interact with them other than initially. We didn't think they improved our lawn at all.

The grass looks a better since they started. Last summer they did fertilization and weeding. They have a screwed up billing department and have tried to bill me twice. They don't have good billing department records.

They came out close to November first. It went well.

We used them just this past week. We still have some weeds in our yard. Over all the lawns in pretty good shape. Interactions are minimal. The work they have done I would grade at a B.

The lawn care I received was fantastic (I had it for over two years), but all of that goes wayside when the customer service stinks. I have always paid up front for annual services, by paying up front they always gave 10% off which is great! The last year of lawn service that was done (more specifically the last three treatments done) I received a billing statement in the mail. Assuming there was some mistake in the billing department, I called the customer service number and it was explained to me that my "pre-paid amount only covered $X and I still owed $12 for that treatment". Um......no. That is the point of paying UP FRONT for a year's worth of treatments. I owe nothing. Took a few minutes to get the customer service rep to understand this, remove the bill in the system, and be done with it. Five weeks later, after another lawn service, same thing. Received another bill in the mail! I call, and have the SAME run around conversation about me owing a residual balance. NO! I pay up front so this kind of stuff doesn't happen!!! I cancelled my lawn service for 2015 to one, give my lawn a break from chemicals, and two, was sick of playing this billing game with TruGreen. Now for the Tree/shrub treatment. I came home one day to find a baggie on my door with a note about a disease that was infecting my trees and shrubs. I agree, I could tell there was definitely something infecting my yard. I paid up front for a year's worth of tree & shrub services in August 2014. Over the last year, I have not noticed the disease getting any better or going away. I had and still have no plans of renewing that service. The last tree & shrub treatment that was just done two days ago, was completed 45 minutes before a huge storm came through and flooded my yard. I whole heartedly believe the treatment didn't stick and was washed away (they say it takes a couple hours to dry completely). Upon calling them to get someone back out to treat my trees, they inform me that the treatment that was just done is NOT covered under what I prepaid and I would be receiving a bill in the mail for around $55. I'm sorry, what? I was never told my annual service was over, I was never called and asked if I wanted to do another year's worth of treatments. I did not ask for, authorize this, or request to continue this service. I was then told by the customer service rep that it's up to me to call and cancel, otherwise they will just keep coming back and I'll get billed. If someone had told me this a year ago, I would have called and cancelled. When I got Terminix service for bugs a while back, they DID inform me that they auto renew after a year and I would need to cancel, so I made note for myself, and cancelled when the time came. I would have done the same thing for TruGreen if they had informed me of such, but I assumed I would get a year's worth of treatments that I paid for, and that's it. I will be calling to dispute this bill for $55 that is coming in the mail for me, especially since the service was basically washed away by an immediate storm afterwards. I'm disappointed with this way of business, and I'm sure it cheats people out of money by getting them to pay even after they have already paid for an annual service, like I have. Previously, I would recommend TruGreen to anyone, because the actual lawn service you get is fantastic. I would not recommend the tree/shrub treatment. I only wanted it because of the disease spreading on them, but it didn't treat/fix that. But NOW, I am giving everyone a fair warning that if you sign up to get services from TruGreen, and you pre pay for a year, BEWARE. It might turn into a nightmare of having to prove that you've already paid for the service you are getting. After the last 6 months of being asked/told to pay things I shouldn't, I am no longer recommending this business to anyone, solely because of the horrible customer service. I have a high expectation for customer service AND the actual service I'm getting, and when one fails, it turns into a bad experience no matter how you look at it. You have been warned. They are reliable. They give discounts if you pay for your service in full. I have always been happy with them.

The quality of the work was very good. The thing that bothered me about them was they always say, "If you have any problems, give us a call" and if I give them a call, I'm calling for nothing because it's hard to get a hold of them to come back out. They finally would but I do have to keep calling them. There was a time that I ended up calling four times to have somebody give me a quote for doing my backyard and finally, I ended up trapping a guy that was out here to correct the problem and he was the one that probably got the ball rolling. These guys were good except that when customers hire a service like that, customers should receive the same guy to do the work all the time and I didn't have that. I had a different guy come all the time and I asked for them to knock on my door and that was rarely ever done. The fellows really tried but the biggest problem they have was, I feel, the management, the follow-through but besides that, I think their service was very, very good. The pricing was good. They would call us one day and say they'd be there the next but we wouldn't see them until next week but that's not always. I finally got them to give me a price and I'm using them next year.

They are prompt, careful, courteous and keep my lawn weedless and green!

every year, from spring through fall, my grass is thick and green; the tech is courteous, if I see him, otherwise leaves a note at the door and in the yard that he has been here; also, they are pleasant to talk to on the phone.

Trugreen is a very good service provider. They answer questions when I call and are quite responsive. If I'm home when their service personnel stop in, they introduce themselves, answer questions and are quite courteous. It's been a good experience to date.

Scotts Lawn Svc do a good job. My yard looks okay. I have some old, rare bushes and I didn't want any spray near them, in case the spray would kill them, and he's been pretty sensitive to that. He also knows to keep the gates closed because of my dogs and all that, so he's been okay.

One treatment was omitted altogether. This was the early summer (june timeframe). On a separate occasion a treatment was applied, not long after a previous treatment, maybe 3 weeks or so. After reading the door hanger a couple days later, I noticed the address was for a residence 12 addresses down the street. They had applied the treatment to the wrong residence. Tru-Green acquired Signature Lawn - an independent provider in the Dayton area. But, the errors in billings and scheduling had me abandon the national within one year.

Periodic yard treatments/weed control. They also will come on property uninvited, tell you message as to what all is wrong, then persistently call to have additional treatments. Their work is not great, weed control is inadequate, but pricey.

We have a beautiful lawn and healthy trees and shrubs.
