In Jan. 2011, we came across Mosquitonix at Dayton's first Home and Garden show for the year. I was quite interested, living in a wooded and water area. We spoke with Brad, a nice young man who gave the general concept of the business and an average cost of $1000 to $1500. (I very much realize that the cost is just an average, but it gave me something to work with.) When the ice storm hit, I lost a beautiful gazebo when 3 trees fell on it. Insurance was covering the rebuild and I then decided to also see about having Mosquitonix give me a quote. This is where our trouble began. Tara, the young lady who answered the phone when I called said that she would speak with Brad about scheduling the appointment. I had asked for a Sat. visit but she felt this would be difficult due to the weekend home shows he had booked. She would get back to me. I didn't hear anything. I believe I went through this twice with her. I understood busy schedules and I still had time to make a decision before the rebuild, so I was patient. Finally an appointment was made for an weekday evening. That was cancelled due to Brad being in the hospital. (I'm now up to 3 attempts for an appointment.) The appointment was rescheduled for the following Monday at 6pm. Around 5:30p Brad called, stating to me, that he was stuck in traffic south of Dayton, ( I live north) and he had an 8pm appointment in Middletown. He didn't see how he could do both, could we reschedule? I was not happy. This was my 4 attempt at an appointment and basically I was being told the Middletown appointment was a priority, not me who had been having a frustating time since Feb. to get an appointment. I gave him once last chance and Brad did make that appointment. The cost was $1000 higher than I wanted. I didn't think it would be that much, I only wanted the gazebo area covered. Brad did understand that; his first thought was doing the whole side yard, not just the gazebo. He took measurements, told me he would get back to me with an estimate. I now need this because it's time to work out the plans and do the rebuild. Well, it's been over two weeks since Brad has been to my home and there has been no word. So Mosquitonix will not be part of our rebuild. And it's a shame; I was impressed with the concept and told my friends and coworkers about the company. Guess what? The adage has come true: when you like something you tell ten people, when you don't like something, you tell twenty. I really don't know why I was blown off, not enough money, I don't live in the best neighorhood, I don't know. I just know that this company treated me poorly. PS. Listen carefully to the information about Moquitonix; it is not a barrier product; it kills on contact. That may be a deciding factor for some people. I have since found another process that I will use myself. It won't be automatic, but the job will be done.
