First, I chose Home Maintence Solutions after seeing a 10% off coupon on Angies List. The coupon was not specific because it was not 10% off service rather it was 10% off competitors written estimates; and should have read, "We'll beat any written estimate by 10%." I took the bait thinking I'd be getting 10% off service. After finding out I would not be getting the 10% off service, I still went with Home Maintenance Solutions because they were able to get to my job in a timely matter, gauranteed they'd be done in one weekend (2 days), and provided me a one year warranty on the work - Peace of Mind. I don't know if I got the best deal, but I do know Home Maintenance Solutions did a Very Good job replacing my garage door header. My home was built in 2001 and above the garage door neither vapor barrier to exterior plywood nor metal flashing to divert water out from under the garage header was ever installed. This allowed water to stand, wick up my exterior plywood (behind the siding), water log the garage header and about 2 foot of exterior plywood, and provide a moist nesting area for carpenter ants. As a result, I had my garage door header replaced due to wood rot from water damage and carpenter ants. Home Maintenace Solutions did all demo work. They replaced the garage header using a high quality laminated cedar beam, replaced the exterior plywood and placed about a five foot section of vapor barrier, secured a metal flashing above the garage door, replaced exterior siding (during the demo the bottom section of the siding had to be scrapped, the replaced bottom section is not 100% color matched but it's close), replaced dry wall to the interior of the garage, did clean up and waste removal, and re-installed the garage door. All work except drywall was EXCELLENT. I'd give the drywall a FAIR rating. I had to personally add additional mud and sand it down to get the finish I wanted before painting. The end product looks great, the only evidence of repair is the one section of slightly off color bottom section of siding. Just to note during the re-installation of the garage door there were issues with getting the door aligned properly. Home Maintenace Solutions made it right by getting a representative from Over Head Door out to fine tune and covered that expense. All-in-all I am very satisfied with the work Home Maintenance Solutions provided. I recommend them and would use them again.

It wasn’t the most professional quote that we received, but it was itemized and clear. Some pricing was ridiculous - such as $25 to hang a shelf, but I worked with the owner to negotiate more reasonable pricing. They were accommodating, responsive and knowledgeable; I would use them in the future.

They are extremely competent. Ron is very talented and intelligent. He can solve problems that a homeowner might not be able to. He has done a wide background of home repairs. I used them last fall to do other similar tasks. They put in another bathroom faucet. They installed shelving and did outdoor maintenance. They put in some exterior light fixtures.
