We contacted Jason to get a quote on a french drain, he came out in a timely manner, had great ideas and we were looking forward to working with him. He said he would call the utility company to come spray our underground lines before he could give us an exact quote. We waited and didn't hear anything for three weeks. We called, no answer to our voicemail. Waited another three weeks. My husband got Jason on the phone and he said he would send the quote. That was a month and a half ago. We will find someone to do the work who actually wants the job. It's unfortunate because other than the lack of response we really liked this company. Too bad they didn't want the business.

After 2 weeks we called and were told he would call later. After another week no call, no proposal. No answer when we tried to call again. Will take the job elsewhere.
Description of Work: Took measurements, verbally described what he would do. Said he would have a cost proposal in a week.

Very professional and bit not really fast. He gets caught up in his work, at more than your location! However, in his defense, my retaining wall really wasn't time critical and I kept expanding the job, which he took on cheerfully. It ended with leveling and reseeding some uncleared terrain. I would use him again, particularly for hard scapping and retaining walls. That core work was exceptional and professional. Jason knows his business for retaining walls and we are very happy with the result. We have about 120 feet of retaining wal that varies from about 2 feet to 5.5 ft in an arc configuration. The rest of his work, final grade and french drains was fair, but has worked throughout the winter and spring without too much water build up. Clean up left some gravel in some areas of the yard, but he was trying to save the grass.
Description of Work: Jason built me a custom retaining wall and drainage system. Also cleared out multiple trees and brush in my new construction.

The process took about 4-5 days from start to finish. Jason first came out with equipment to measure the slope of yard in different areas, and get a more exact fix on where the French drains should be placed. He and a co-worker then placed 4x8 sheets of wood down where the equipment would be moving, and where the removed dirt would be placed, to minimize the impact on the yard. The small backhoe was then used to dig the French drains. The crushed rock was brought in by wheel barrel or small tractor, depending upon the access area in the yard. The piping was laid down on the crushed rock, about halfway down the dug area. The pipe was covered with more crushed rock, and then the topsoil was put back on for the last few inches. It would have cost more to have Bede Hardscaping and Landscsaping put grass seed and cover on the topsoil, so I did that last step myself. It has been about 8 months since the work was completed. I am very happy with the results! I can go into my backyard after a hard rain, and the ground feels solid. My feet do not sink into the ground like they use to. I wish I had done this many years ago. Jason Bede was great to work with. I was concerned the digging would get too close to the roots of a maple tree in my backyard, and Jason adjusted the design to keep it at a distance I was comfortable with.
Description of Work: I had a problem with poor drainage in my backyard for many years. After it would rain, the back part of my backyard would stay wet for many days. I finally had 3 companies come out and give me estimates to install French drains to carry the water away to a slope on the front yard. The plan presented by Jason Bede seemed to provide the best long-term solution, and it was just a little more expensive than the other companies. They would bring in a small backhoe and dig the French drains 13" wide and 24-30" deep. Crushed rock would be filled in about halfway, the drain pipe put in, and then more crushed rock put on top of that, and finally leveled out with top soil. The perforated pipe of the French drain was ultimately connected to 4" solid PVC pipe that carried the water under ground to where it exited on a slope in the front yard. Since the drain lines were coming from the backyard past the sides of my house, I went ahead and had them tie in my downspouts to this underground line. There were 3 separate French drains installed in the back yard for a total of 110 lineal feet. There was a total of 105 lineal feet of solid pipe installed to bring the water from the French drains up both side yards and connect up the downspouts. A 9" x 9" catch basin was also installed in a low area of the back yard.

My back yard, although very small, had some serious drainage and water retention issues. To this point I had had at least 5 other contractors come out to look at the problem and Jason was the first to give me a knowledgable solution to my problem. He was also the only one that recommended using heavy excavation equipment. He made me feel that the problem was manageable and that his company would have no problem completing the work. The price was what I expected as they had to use a backhoe and a front loader as well as labor from 3 men for two days.
Description of Work: Bede came in with a backhoe and dug out a 2 foot by 2 foot deep trench through the middle of my yard to mediate a serious drainage issue. They put in drain pipe, gravel and reseeded it. They were able to tie into an existing drainage pipe that goes through several lawns to a drainage catch basin in a common area of the development.

I was thoroughly impressed by the owner (Jason) and crew. Jason was punctual, courteous, and I appreciated his engineering background and expertise when it came to fixing my drainage problem. His bid was only slightly higher than other bids I solicited but I felt like his knowledge and experience, manner, and skill was well worth it. The Bede crew was very clean and everyone listened to all of my concerns and took the time to answer all of my questions.
Description of Work: I hired Bede Hardscaping and Landscaping to address a drainage problem I was having by way of installing a retaining wall. This company also installed a small patio that fits my grill and small table so I can sit outside and enjoy my morning coffee! I plan on hiring this company in the fall to design a new landscape plan and install a new front landscape.

When the owner came out he was prompt, very professional and very courteous. He explained exactly what he thought they needed to do to get it fixed. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They were very neat in getting the job done and were careful when they had to dig in to cement so they would not disturb my neighbors yard. They actually regraded my yard, put down grass seed and straw, they left it in better condition then when they found it.
Description of Work: We discovered that there was some water getting into the air conditioning vents. This was due to migrating water aquifers. They had to come and dig a sump pit, drainage ditch and put in a drain pipe then tie in to the city catch basin.
