Description of Work: They installed a granite counter top and sink that I purchased through Direct Buy. I really don't remember the date but guessing early to mid 2011. The cost was part of my Direct Buy bill. They did a wonderful job of cutting and edging and installing it evenly. The only glitch I had was the hole for dish soap was cut on the wrong side so use it for hand soap. I don't know who made the error on determining the cut, Legro or Direct Buy.
During the initial proposal phase, Rod gave us gave us alternatives and explained all options in detail. Legro performed the work in stages so that the furniture could be moved from the rooms being worked on. Legro moved all the furniture including the laundry machine and dryer. The tile removal and floor painting was done first in our work room and laundry room. Once applied, the paint for the floor required several days to dry. Upon return, Legro completed that portion of the basement including moving furniture (as well as the critical laundry machine) back into those areas. The second part of the job was to finish the main basement area. This included the drywall, painting, and installation of the carpet. All of that work was completed in two days. The work was performed in a very professional way and we were extremely happy with the results. Throughout the process, Rod kept us informed of the progress which was very important to us since the project took place over a couple of weeks. Legro was not the least expensive proposal we received (although still reasonably priced) but the outstanding workmanship was the main factor for us.
Description of Work: After a flooding event, Legro Inc. performed the following services for us in our basement: carpet installation (1/2 basement), drywall repair, painting, vinyl tile removal, floor prep including sanding, and floor painting with epoxy paint (1/2 basement). The work was primarily performed by Rod (company president) with a series of additional helpers, as needed.

They were helpful in making suggestions. They did a nice job and cleaned up well and were punctual. The communication with them was great. They were working with a construction team at our church. The price was fair. It wasn't the lowest bid but it was a fair bid. The final price matched the initial estimate. I'm working with them for our kitchen and have received an estimate for this as well.
Description of Work: They completely remodeled a ladies' room and mens' bathroom. They removed all the tile, stalls, toilets, sinks and reinstalled the fixtures and replaced drywall. The work took 6 weeks to complete.

They were very professional and responsive. They turned the estimate around right away. The prices seemed high there.

They did a really great job with the tiling work. They were recommended by Direct Buy. Everything came out very nicely and they cleaned up well after themselves. They took measures to eliminate the dust from going further than it had to. They vacuumed at the end of each day. They were fine with the estimate. There was a tendency for them to be a little late but nothing unusual. We would recommend their services to others.
Description of Work: They remodeled our kitchen, hallway and two bathrooms. Work included all tile floors, sinks and vanities and wall tiles.

The work they do is great and clean up is great. They're respectful and friendly andI recommend them based on the work they This is why we hired them a second time. Our only complaint is that sometimes Rod says he's coming and then he'll show up late, such as two hours late and not call. His team is all great. We are waiting on our backsplash to be completed in our kitchen. We purchased the tile for the backsplash directly through Rod and it is ready to be installed. Their labor fees are fair.
Description of Work: They performed extensive tiling work in our full bath, half bath, laundry, kitchen and foyer. They also installed the wood flooring in our sunroom and carpeting in our family room. In the past, about a year ago, they installed a tub surround tiling and a tile floor in our upstairs bathroom.

They were very good. About a year and a half ago they put in all the wooden floors throughout our whole house and now they are going to be doing about $18000 worth of renovation to do the sink and bathroom. We went through a direct buy for these actual floorings, and then Legro had a person install it. They were excellent, I cannot think of anything that I did not like. They were personable and they did a very nice job. They were very conscientious and worried about getting it done right and I could not have asked for a better install job. Their prices were reasonable.
Right from the first day, Rod had suggestions and recommendations, many of which we included in our plans. He has an office girl who is both project coordinator and complaint listener and problem solver, which is a great comfort to people who are nervous about the expense and potential for disasters. We liked all the crew members. There were time glitches, many because we didn't get supplies ordered or they didn't come in, or because of the holidays, but OVERALL, the project went along as promised and was completed in a fairly decent time for the amount of work we had done. Best of all, with all the additional work we included, when the final bill came, it was less then we expected. What makes us happy is a job well done. After the final check was paid, we noticed some things, like some molding that was missing, called Legro, and a crew was sent out right away to get it done, and charged us nothing! Every single day we are happy with our floors, our marble, and our choices. We can thank Legro for that. We consider Legro our 'go to' company for any future projects.
Description of Work: We bought a 3100 square foot 1985 house that needed updating. Legro removed all the old parquet flooring, gutted a master bathroom and powder room, installed all new engineered hardwood floors - over 1,000 square feet; installed travertine tiles in the bathroom; installed almost 550 square feet of marble tiles in foyer + other locations; upgraded electrical; installed 2 ceiling fans over 18 feet high; installed new lighting; installed new glass back splash to large tub; installed 1 very large vanity and mirror and 1 floating sink; 2 toilets (one of which needed to have the plumbing drain relocated); and did various other choirs my wife thought up as they went along. We supplied all the flooring materials separately from our own sources and they picked it up for us. Rod Orgel also helped with a great deal of the design and planning so we avoided many costly mistakes by thinking and planning ahead. We listened to him. He listened to us. Example - we almost ordered 1100 feet of hard wood but the thickness wouldn't have worked with what we already had and would have been a costly mistake. They also need to move a $8000 extra large stove and very large refrigerator out for flooring and then re-install them, installed a new dishwasher, and took away all debris. We added upgrading of all our electrical switches and installing chandeliers (removing or covering pot lights), and removing a wall of bedroom mirrors to the list.

I have no complaints with the carpet and molding installation, although I wish he had included metal strips separating the carpeting from flooring in adjacent rooms. Also, although the estimate included "removal of old carpeting," it got removed only as far as the garage. We had to dispose of it. The kitchen project was a nightmare. When we bought the house we took out an FHA loan to remodel the kitchen. We had to meet specific guidelines, such as providing estimates, providing proof that the contractor was licensed and insured, submitting receipts, and finishing the project within six months. We were given half of the estimate cost up front and the balance at the completion of the project. We purchased the materials and contracted with Rod for labor only. Throughout the process he complained about the time he had to spend talking with FHA reps and providing proof of license and insurance. He jeopardized our cabinet order by not responding to our calls or picking up the cabinets until weeks after they had arrived at the warehouse, which does not generally hold merchandise for more than a few days. When his installers brought the materials in, they broke a window in the kitchen door--not a big deal, except that he used the date he finally returned to replace the window as the date for completion of the project, which he then used to file a lien against our property. (I'll get to that.) We opted not to tear out the existing exhaust fan or install a handrail on the staircase from the first to second floor, and the tear-out work in the kitchen was less involved than he estimated. I told him I wanted a revised final invoice that deducted the costs for work not done, after which I would pay him promptly. He finished the work just before Thanksgiving but did not return to repair the window until mid-December. He made appointments he did not keep and did not call to tell us. My husband and I made arrangements to be there when work was to be done, so this impacted our own work schedules. I called and e-mailed repeatedly asking for a final invoice so I could pay him and submit the final receipts, which were due in early January. I finally submitted the receipts without getting a revision from him. Had I waited any longer, the balance of the money to pay him and pay off the appliances would have been applied to our loan principal, leaving us with no money to pay either. He finally called in late January and threatened to put a lien on the house because we had not paid him. I repeated that I had received no final invoice. When he finally e-mailed the invoice to me--four days AFTER he placed a lien on the house--it had been revised to increase all the costs of the work that was done to compensate for work we decided to omit. (For instance, the cost for installing a second window air conditioner, which we had to return because it was damaged, doubled from the estimate to the final bill.) I refused to pay for more than the charges originally estimated. I revised the invoice in red pen and paid for what was done based on the original estimate, which is what our loan amount was based on. I mailed the check the day after I received the invoice. He cashed the check immediately, wrote off the rest as a bad debt, and finally removed the lien in spring 2010. I was on the verge of seeking legal action against him. It was a very expensive lesson in not settling for recommendations from "friends" or single estimates. Oh how I wish I had known about Angie's List before we purchased our house!
Description of Work: Rod and his employees(?) installed new carpeting in the master bedroom and stretched the carpeting in the living room to take out the wrinkles. They also added baseboard molding in the living room and installed a window air conditioner in my daughter's bedroom. His company (which changed names to Legro, Inc. soon after we hired them) was recommended by the company from which we ordered the carpeting and kitchen cabinets to do the kitchen remodeling. (That's another horror story.) The work was to include altering existing cabinet(s) to make room for a dishwasher, tearing out old countertops and sink, installing new cabinetry and a new sink. His employees removed doors and shelves from one cabinet to make room for a dishwasher (none had ever been installed in my 1940 house), removed old countertop around the sink and on another wall, and installed a wall of new base cabinetry where none had been. After the granite countertop was installed by the granite company, they returned and installed a new kitchen sink and hooked up the faucet. We had other small jobs we asked them to do in lieu of changes we made to our original proposal--such as scrapping installation of an over-the-stove microwave, which would have entailed removing an exhaust fan in the exterior wall--in favor of a countertop model, but Rod declined to consider them.
