The Davey Tree Expert Company

I have been using them for years. They even came and gave me free advice regarding tree care. They provide service in timely manner. They leave a sign in the yard when the treatment is complete with the date and time which really helps my lawn people.

Great price for a job well done. They did cut through our neighbors cable line during the stump grinding, but the line should never have been routed so close to the base of the tree. While there, gave good advice on how to keep another tree of the same species from suffering a similar fate.

Fine. I have used this company at least 5 times before. They do such a good job that I only have to use them every three years or so, so it's worth the extra money to me. They always clean up all of the debris and put it in their mulching machine. They got poured upon twice, but were able to finish the job. The good part was that this time, the actual bill came in less than the estimate!

Workers were efficient and quiet. Overall it went well.

The contractor came out when he said he would to give us the estimate. I wasn't too familiar with prices on this type of work, but after some investigating, we decided that the price was fair enough to sign the contract. We wanted to get this work done soon because it was already early October. After sending the signed contract in, I did have to contact the company to find out when we were scheduled for the work. Due to the weather, they did have to reschedule a couple of times, but that was OK. The next time the weather broke, they told us that they would be out the next day. The following day, the work was completed without us having to be at home. They did a great job with the trimming and the clean up was perfect! I was rather surprised at how well they did clean up given the fact that arborvitae trimming can be very messy. The bill came the following week at the exact price that we were quoted. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

There was a massive windstorm so since our tree was merely scraping the side of our house and not on top of the house or blocking the driveway we called after a couple of days and told Davey to get to us when they could. They made it out by the end of the week to get the tree gone, which was amazing considering the number of trees down everywhere. The men who came out to work on the tree were very nice and tolerant of my adoring preschooler who watched out the window the whole time. They came back after the calls about the storm had settled down and took out the other tree. They came a third time to grind the stumps and plant the new trees which were beautiful.

It's a long story, but overall, it was a very disappointing experience and I didn't feel I got my money's worth. They didn't meet expectations. They didn't do some of the work as described and planned, some of their work was sloppy and had to be redone. Later on there was a billing issue that was eventually resolved. But overall, it was a very inconvenient and regrettable experience.

They helped me better care for my trees in the future.

They hauled all the debris away. They were prompt and very professional. They did everything they said they would do, when they said they would do it. I have no complaints at all. Their price was right in line with other estimates I got. I would recommend them to others.

They are excellent to work with. I call them whenever I need their service and they come out at the appropriate time for whatever it is they are doing. They always leave a note after their done and then they bill you. They are very accommodating.

I got 4 bids ranging from 3,000 to 1,600. We selected Davey because, although not the lowest bid, we trusted them. Davey is registered with Shaker Heights, which gave us some assurance about insurance and so on. This was important because the tree hung over a slate roof, and was right next to the house, walk, and irrigation system - lots of places for expensive repairs if anything went wrong. We were out of town when they removed the tree but neighbors watched it and were impressed. The person who ground the stump was courteous and took measures to protect the house from the debris.

In the beginning all went well. Arrived quickly to give quote and had a crew at my house within a week. I was pleased with the work performed. I received the bill on the 2nd of June and faxed in the credit card information on June 9th. After about a week I got a reminder to pay the bill. I called the corporate number and they called the local office and after some searching they found the misplaced fax. Davey then billed my credit card on June 21st.. Today, June 24th, I got a call from the collection agency they hired to collect the bill I already paid. I would be wary of any company that turns over a bill to a collection agency before they even attempt one call to the customer.

They do an excellent job. They are on time. They didn't have to come back. Their prices are moderate.

The crew was very professional and performed the work quickly. Did a nice job of cleaning up. It was not explained that the stumps would not be ground out until later. As it turned out it was over a week before they returned to grind out the stumps.

I was hopping they would trim more but I would suggest being as specific as possible with the company.

They returned calls promptly and were friendly. The crew had to be flexible working around summer weather and access being blocked by trucks working on a neighbor's house. Communication with me as to when they would come back, etc., could have been better, but they got the work done neatly. I would definitely call them again, especially because I felt like the man who came out to look at my trees really knew what he was doing as far as treating the trees to get them to live as long a healthy tree life as possible.

WE'VE HAD DAVEY WORK ON OUR TREES IN THE PAST AND FEEL THEY DO A PROFESSIONAL JOB. THE TREES LOOK NICELY PRUNED WHEN THEY'RE DONE.

HE WORKED OVER 2 DAYS & BRENT DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AS USUAL. I HAVE USED THIS COMPANY TWICE BEFORE AND THEY ARE VERY GOOD ABOUT CLEANING UP AFTERWARDS.

PRICE IS PER SPRAYING. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, TIMELY, AND THEY ALWAYS LET US KNOW THAT THEY'RE HERE AND WORKING. I LIKE THEM A LOT.

THEY CAME BACK WITHOUT QUESTION WHEN I CALLED TO SAY THAT THE TREE PIECES WERE TOO LARGE FOR ME TO HANDLE, AND THAT I WOULD LIKE THEM CUT UP A LITTLE MORE.
