Description of Work: They came for a furnace check. I had to pay extra for my filter replacement. A few days later, my thermostat was not working. They came out & replaced it. It was fairly expensive, but it has worked beautifully for more than 2 years.

Description of Work: I had a maintenance contract with PK Wadsworth for many years. It was always frustrating: I felt as though the contract price was very high, and yet everything they did beyond showing up to look at the equipment was an extra charge. I had to get a separate maintenance contract for each item (furnace, AC, humidifier) and the total amount was quite high because we have twinned furnaces (two units working together). Ultimately they told me the furnace needed to be replaced and I got a bid from them and from two other companies. The PK Wadsworth bid was much higher than the other bids and the equipment they planned to install was not as highly rated by Consumer Reports as the brand used by another company. When I commented to PK Wadsworth that perhaps a good customer (or at least long time customer) discount might be nice I was told that they could take off a little, but still the price difference was too high for me and I chose another company.

Description of Work: I had them out for a furnace tune up and the furnace unexpectedly didn't work-we'd recently bought the house and had not yet had occasion to use it. The technician figured out what was wrong, ordered the part and returned very quickly (within a week) to repair and then tune up. He showed me how to use the whole system and was very knowledgable.
