They were recommended by friends. They have done great work. I have been very happy. The guys show up and they know what they are doing. They know the units they are working on. I can trust them. When they do things, it works. They come in uniform. When they park the truck and come into the house they put the booties on. They don't mess up the house. They take care of everything. They clearly have a reputation and are proud of it.

They did not respond initially for 10 days, despite my listing service day/time preferences and e-mail contact info. Angie's List added my fon# to the order, when I contacted you. Vendor called a week after this to schedule. When scheduling, I was promised a pre-service confirmation the day before, & never received. I was scheduled for service between 10am-1pm on service day, with pre-service call when vendor was on the way. Service person called me after 1:30pm on service day to say he was on his way. Work performed well. Service person apologized for tardiness, but just said "they're busy".

It's always very reasonable and competitive. I have a service contract with them, and I don't recommend anybody in this category but them. They are the only people I trust. I have no complaints. They were always on time. They even clean up after themselves.

I've been a PK wadsworth client for 10+ years. They replaced two air conditioners. One went perfectly. One not so much. I gave them a poor rating due to some of the issues we experienced, but after speaking to the owner today they have corrected everything at their expense. (I attempted to edit my previous poor rating but I guess I can't edit a previously submitted response) They stand by their work, their products and their customers. I will continue to be a customer for our HVAC needs. Well done PK wadsworth!!!

They come when they say they will come, they do the work, if they see a problem they come and talk to me and they give me options. They talk things through and they go back and they do what I authorized. Except for small parts it's a more of a just-in-time and the company no longer keeps inventory.
Description of Work: We have two furnaces and one of our heat exchangers cracked and they ordered the part and they will be back to fix it.

Pk Wadsworth has done great by me twice inone year. Was thsi past january they installed an wntire new bolier for us as well. In both cases the service technicians were punctual, professinal and down right nice to my two little girls ( they haev tobe envovled). In the airhandler scenario, it was maybe 100 degrees up ther and the tech worked right thru it all and got us up and running again. Performed the work in late July in the middle of a drought/heat wave. Pk has all my business and I see no reason to change iot going forwrd. A's across the board.
Description of Work: Replaced an entire Unico Air Handler unit.

As part of selling our house, we had to get our AC certified to be in good working order. PK Wadsworth came and did this for us. We partially chose them due to an Angie's list coupon, along with their good reviews. They were prompt and came as expected. Our AC is older but had been working well for us. They certified the AC and left. We noticed a few days afterward when a heat wave came that the AC did not seem to be working right. It would turn on and blow cool air but not cold air, and would stop soon after. It did not bring the temperature of the house down. We had purchased a home warranty on our house and could have used them to fix the AC instead of calling back PK Wadsworth but I didn't think they would come as promptly and I was hopping that it was just a loose connection, that something didn't quite get plugged in right. I called PK Wadsworth and they came the next day. they told me there may be a diagnostic fee and I explained that they were just out and that I had this home warranty service. The same guy came who had certified our AC. He found that the capacitor had died. He did not charge us the diagnostic fee since he had just been at our house looking at the same AC a few days prior. He was able to fix it right away. He had checked it before, and it was working (to his surprise) but I think the manipulation may have done it in. My impression is that he was honest with his assessment and was very fair about the price (not charging us the diagnostic fee which he could have tried to do) so I would definitely use them again.

This round of repairs unfortunately ended our long-term relationship with P.K. Wadsworth, who had installed our system in the first place, because the service was so disorganized, frustrating, and disruptive. First, the communication from the company was awful and, frankly, bizarre. The dispatcher would leave a message that the part needed was in, but when we called back to schedule the appointment, she would tell us that the part actually wasn't in. This happened twice. Then, on the day of the appointment, she would call me to tell me that the technician was running behind and wouldn't be able to come that day. Five minutes later, the technician would call and tell me that he was 5 minutes from my house and would arrive shortly. This also happened twice. Furthermore, it took three trips after the initial diagnosis of the problem to get the repairs right. First, they ordered the wrong part. Then the technician showed up without the part at all because someone had sent the part back without telling him. Each time, I had to rearrange my work schedule to be at home for the repair. Instead of once, I had to rearrange my schedule THREE TIMES to accommodate these appointments. In exchange for this significant inconvenience, they gave me a mere $25 off almost $800 of repairs. Finally, when they discovered that the system, which they had installed, had the wrong size expansion tank on it, they griped bitterly about having to put on a new expansion tank under warranty. I was disappointed that they were so resistant to standing by the quality of their own work. John, the technician, was very nice, but this kind of disorganization totally turned us off. When I called to talk to a manager, he apologized but also seemed to imply that these kinds of things happen. I was disappointed because we had had a good relationship with this company before this experience. However, after this stress of this round of repairs, we will never use them again.

It has been fine. I have a service contract with them. I pay them $249 a year and they come out twice a year to inspect first the heating and then the air conditioning. One of their technicians at one point suggested that we needed parts to correct the improper function of a heater we installed two years before. It turned out we didn't need them. He proposed unnecessary service. The price is fine. We set the appointments and they're always on time.

But we discontinued it last year because we were planning to move. Now it's call for service. We've got two furnaces and a humidifier and there is a separate charge for each.

They did regular work for us for a number of years until about 2 years ago. We found that we weren't getting some of the responsiveness and the turnaround on when they said they would be here. The timing didn't work out a couple of times. Our schedule and their schedule just didn't line up well. We got a little tired of it. Their service before that was okay.

It's not over yet. It's okay. They're knowledgeable. I'm not raving but they're fine. I've had some issues. The quality of their service was very good. The gentleman who did all the work was slow. He was abusive. Once he started, he had to finish. He knew what he was doing but he was just horrible to work with. He's no longer with the company. That within itself was the beginning of the downfall of the company.

The service tech, Chris, was amazing. If I could hire him without having to hire the company, I would. He was phenomenal. The only reason my rating low is because this company gouged me in the pricing. I cannot believe that they, as a provider on Angie's list, that they would gouge the Angie's List members in this manner, and that Angie's list would allow. I understand that it is their business and they can charge as they please, but the amount of work that they are probably receiving from the Angie's List members should qualify for a discount from the other "outside" clients. I am VERY disappointed in this business for this practice.
Description of Work: I had to call them at 4:30 and since their tech came out after 5:00 it was a "premium" price ($140.00 to come out to the house). The service tech, Chris, was awesome and he was so helpful. It was almost a blizzard out and he still went because the tenants in my house have a 3-year-old. The only thing that I was not too happy about is the entire bill cost me $501. $140 for the service call, and then $361 for the part. All my on-line searches for that part has brought me to sites with prices of $79 - $102 for that part. I cannot find ANYWHERE that this part costs anywhere NEAR $361. I understand a parts mark-up, but more than 250%? That's absolutely out of control. Especially since the prices I was finding were RETAIL and as a dealer they get better prices than that. If that's the case, they got even more than 250% markup on the part. Again, service was EXCELLENT but this really saddens me.
