Tech came out to look at our furnace and diagnose a problem we were having with the pilot light. He took his time double-checking everything that might be wrong with it and then explained the issues with our furnace in detail. Although our furnace is old and will eventually need to be replaced, he was not pushy about asking us to commit to extensive work right now and did not push us to agree to any expensive repairs or refurbishment. He was professional respectful, and eager to help us understand exactly what was going on. Based on this experience, I would absolutely recommend PK Wadsworth and plan to use them again the next time our furnace needs to be looked at. Note: This review would have been all A's across the board except that the tech came later than the dispatcher had indicated.

Installation itself went smoothly, they were in and out, disposed of the old unit and cleaned up. Then the problems began. First a very loud thumping, like an explosion, every 10 minutes while the furnace was on. Called them but they did not believe us. Three days later they came - the installers had left a small piece of brick inside the new unit, which was hitting the side violently. Then the furnace kept cycling on and off, and blowing cold air. Called Wadsworth and got a visit in two days, which solved nothing. Problem continued. Four days later, got another visit. This repairman called the Goodman factory and discovered that the original installers had connected the hoses wrong. Okay, got that solved. Wadsworth charged me $90.90 for a city permit, so I wanted to see it. This took three phone calls and a letter. Finally received it. The city inspection did not take place until late Feb 2013. Wadsworth failed. It turns out that that they needed to vent the hot water heater into a chimney liner, because without the umph of the old furnace there was not enough updraft. Although the Wadsworth installer who met the city inspector agreed that it was their problem, the Wadsworth salesman subsequently called me and tried to make me pay for a chimney liner and installation. Bottom line: the Goodman is a very good high efficiency furnace, and I got it at a good price. But I would never deal with P.K. Wadsworth again. Followup on the installation was terrible.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you had with your furnace installation. I know when I called you to follow up 11/08/12 everything was working fine. I double checked with the Building Commissioner of Beachwood and verified that our installation DID pass inspection. It appears that the Building Inspector spoke in error. Sorry for any confusion.

The installation went well. They dealt with the electric company and the gas company for me. They made sure they had all of the permits. When the inspector came they were there to answer any of his questions. There was one issue that I had after they were done. They were very responsive and fixed the issue with the timer.

My furnace was not firing up properly. Concerned that I might get ripped off by an unscrupulous contractor, I turned to Angie's List. I found PK Wadsworth and they had a special on a checkup. I was very satisfied with their service and recommended them to two other people. I purchased two more coupons as gifts. Three discounted coupons led to three very happy customers.

On 11/24/12 my furnace stopped working while I was out of state. I turned off the breaker to the furnace and it started working again for a week. On Friday 11/30/12 it stopped working again and I was not able to get the furnace running again by cycling the furnace breaker. I called PK Wadsworth because I had used them for a check on my AC as part of an Angie's List Big Deal. One of their technicians, Tim Posey, came out within 90 minutes and diagnosed the problem as being with my inducer and with the pressure switch. When the inducer kicks on it draws a vacuum on the tube to the pressure switch. The pressure switch allows the burner to turn on. The inducer was failing so the pressure switch was not activating allowing my burner to kick on. I didn't know any of this; Tim had explained all this to me. Before he left he got the furnace working again, but I needed to have the parts replaced so he told me their office would call me on Monday to setup an appointment. I was concerned that my furnace could go out at any time, but he didn't know if they had the parts so I had no choice but to wait til Monday. I called late Monday morning 12/3/12 to see what the status was and they told me that they didn't know and I would have to check with the parts department. By 12/4/12 I still hadn't heard back about setting up a repair appointment so I called and told them I wanted to get this scheduled or I would be looking elsewhere for service so they got the appointment set up for me. They told me that the reason for the delay was because things were crazy in the office due to computer problems. On Friday 12/7/12 they sent Tim back out to install the new parts into my furnace. He was very fast and was all done in 90 minutes including servicing the furnace as part of the maintenance contract I purchased. I was very pleased with the work he did and I was happy that PK sent the same technician to my house again because it seems a lot more efficient that way. I was disappointed that initially PK did not follow up with me and that I had to bother with 3 phone calls to get my repair appointment scheduled, but overall I'm very satisfied with the technician and the company.
Description of Work: Price included an emergency visit because my furnace stopped working. I then upgraded to the maintenance plan because they would give me a discount on the parts if I did that as well as service the furnace. I had to have my inducer blower (the tiny fan motor that pulls in air from the fresh air intake tube and blows exhaust fumes out) replaced as well as a pressure limit switch.

technician was on time and very polite. He came ain and went right to work. He checked and serviced my furance, checked the filters and made some recommedation to ensure proper heating of my home. Tech was very helpful and polite and I would recommend this company to anyone.

We met with a "professional estimator". The quote was delivered promptly. The work began as scheduled and was completed as per schedule. The site was left in a clean condition. All resulting debris was removed at the completion of the p;roject.

They found an issue with one of the furnaces (our humidifier was not working properly) and repaired it quickly. They are always kind and professional and believe it or not....show up on time. They even call us when the tech is on the way! Always a top notch experience.

My request for service was promptly given attention even though I hadn't signed up for the maintenance program on my AC. Because of this I didn't expect any special treatment but was pleasantly surprised when they did honor the fact that I was a customer. As promised, within the service window the technician called to say he was within 15 minutes of my home - very convenient. He thoroughly tested the various components to determine which was malfunctioning, all the while describing to me how it all worked together and what the test results indicated and why. The malfunctioning part turned out to be an expensive one, and one that the tech didn't have on the truck. He was able to work it out with his schedule to come back the same day with the part and finish the job. In this service call and others with this company the technicians are very knowledgeable and informative, giving you various options and how those might play out...all with zero pressure. They understand that everyone's situation is unique with individual priorities. They are also quite willing to answer questions to make you a more informed customer, such as "what is the typical life of this part?" "what can I do to make this last longer?", etc. This company offers other services and they would be my first choice should need for another of these arises.

He first check the Coolant level/pressure outside at the AC unit and performed a temperature reading on the air coming into the AC and the air coming out of the AC to determine the temperature difference. There was no problem with the AC unit. He did a quick check of the unit and found the humidifier to have a dirty filter so he replaced it.
Description of Work: diagnostic on AC to determine if it was still performing within specifications. He also checked the humidifier filter and replaced it because it was caked with mineral deposits.

Description of Work: The inducer on my furnace is broken. So that the furnace made a huge noise when I turned it on. The technician checked the furnace thoroughly and replaced the inducer with a brand new one. He also cleaned the burners and sensors, and performed tuneup service.

The repair technician arrived promptly and was attentive as I described that the A/C system was not cooling the house. He then went through diagnosing the problem, leading him to the outside A/C unit where he discovered an electric capicitor that had exploded. He replaced the capacitor, tested the system was working and put everything back together.

A+++ for Patrick and for P K WadsWorth. They are both Exceptional Service Providers. I would use them again. Patrick came out and performed a Service Call and Diagnostic Furnace inspection. Patrick called to let me know he was on his way to my home. Patrick educated me on how my furnace operates. Patrick was courteous, knowledgeable and respected my privacy. The experience was easy and efficient. The service technician called an hour before arrival. The repair took 45 minutes. I am thrilled with their expertise and professionalism.

They actually spent time measuring my home so that I would get the right system for our needs. Beat Home Depot and Lowes by a few hundred dollars and destroyed the other Carrier Dealers price that is located in my neighborhood. No need to go anywhere else, these are the ones for your job. They just werent on time, they were consistently early every day of the job and they cleaned up after themselves.

As everyone knows this has been the hottest summer on record. We reside in a 1700 sq ft ranch home built in 1960. We have boiler heat but never had central air. We called P.K. Wadsworth to provide an estimate. Allan came out & assessed the situation. He was not high pressure & very knowledgeable on the subject. The ductless work I was inquiring about was much more expensive . He was willing to put in whatever we wanted but gave us other alternatives that would be just, if not more efficient & also cost saving. Once we came to a decision & signed the contract he then brought out a portable air conditioner for us to use in the meantime for temporary comfort. We were very impressed with that alone. They installed the a/c, air handler & the duct system. The employees were professional, efficient, polite & very hard working. The cleanup was excellent. He made a quick diagnosis of the problem and found that there was a faulty part. He actually adjusted the broken part so that we would have air conditioning until the replacement part came in. He was very professional and very patient while answering questions from my husband and me. He came in, showed me the part and explained that something was missing, and he checked to make sure that the new part had the correct components. He showed me not only the part, but also what the exact problem was.
