The install went well, the guys arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner. They left the job site free of debris. After two winters the fence and arbor posts are coming up from the ground resulting in a very crooked fence and misaligned gates. We are in Medina county and my guess is that the posts were not set deep enough to accommodate frost or not secured at the bottom. Issue just reported to the company, we will see how things go.
Description of Work: Provider installed approximately 160 feet of fence with two small gates and one double gate. They also installed an arbor for climbing plants (expensive component)

I thought they were very professional. They came out and actually did it very quickly for me as I wanted to get my yard secure, so they were very prompt. I really appreciated their help in coming out right away and completing it. I'm just very, very happy with all their work. It worked out wonderful. I think it really completed the yard. It's very safe and secure for my family and the dog.
Description of Work: They came, measured my property, gave me an estimate for putting in a wooden fence and completed the construction of the wooden fence.

Description of Work: Very tardy, gave a quote but never followed up. After calling their office and finally speaking to their salesman he said he would send a contract by email. Never received it. He never followed up to find out if we got it.

LOUSY service. The salesman is full of promises, and very short on follow through. I would NEVER use this company again. I wish I would have read online reviews before I signed a contract. In the end, the fence is fine. The amount of hassle to get the fence (zero response to repeated phone calls) was not worth it. There are many fence companies in the area. Find another one.

He arrived ahead of time, which I find very good. He, my wife and I walked around our property and discussed the whole project and what we required in fencing and possible gate systems around the area of the fencing. We discussed a special type of fencing around our barn area for the project. He told us to email me a "test" email so we would receive the quote in no time at all. My wife quickly sent him an email but to this day have not seen or heard from anyone at the company regarding our quote. We are at the point of if no one contacts us soon, we will be removing Medina Fencing from our list of people for the project.
Description of Work: The representative came out to give us a estimate on putting in a agricultural fence around our backyard area. We told him exactly what we were looking for in fencing and seemed to go very well at the time.

My wife called these people for an estimate while I was out of the country, she wrote them a check for half the amount, $2000. Then she tried to follow up with them and they were very unresponsive. Because it took so long for them to even schedule the work to be done we discovered that our dogs were not wandering off of the property and we decided to just put a fence around the garden. They quote came back and was very high, we were able to get it done for 40% less by someone else. All calls are routed through a third party answering service. When we told them we wanted a refund they kept $400.

Response from MEDINA FENCE COMPANY
We regret that the member is confused about many of the facts regarding our interactions with his wife and will be more than happy to make this situation clear. 1. In order to give our customers access to us 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, we have an answering service that immediately forwards all calls/emails to the appropriate person. 2. Our salespeople NEVER use “high pressure sales tactics,” as the following emails between the member and our salesman, Brian, will show. 3. The “delay" was definitely not on our part; we had the utilities marked and the job scheduled more than once. the member postponed the installation for various reasons, as her emails show. FROM THE MEMBER AUG 21, 2012: Brian, Thanks for coming out today to give me an estimate. Hope you made it out of that storm that came gushing down right after you left. I will watch for your email. Thanks FROM BRIAN AUG 23, 2012: Hi Member, I dodged the rain all day. Medina Fence will furnish...(detailed estimate follows along with Brian’s cell number) FROM THE MEMBER AUG 24, 2012: Brian: I also want to get those dead trees cut down before you install. If you have anyone to recommend for the job let me know. Thanks FROM THE MEMBER SEP 12, 2012: Hi Brian: I am rethinking where to fence and considering smaller area off house including covered deck but excluding pond. Thanks for the Tree Master referral. They are cutting 16 trees on Thursday. I will get back to you soon. Thanks FROM THE MEMBER OCT 9, 2012: Hi Brian, I have come to realize that post and rail with mesh wire is not going to work for my cats. I have changed the layout slightly also. It is now 269 ft with 1 double gate and 3 single gates. What would the price per foot be for a good neighbor Boston picket fence with federal post caps? You can see picture of this fence on elyriafence.com. I know I’m running out of time weather wise. I’m not interested in having the posts routed as shown on their website. Thanks Our salesman met with the member two more times, and spoke on the phone several more times, not to pressure her into a sale, but to help her decide on her fencing plans. It is not uncommon for Brian to meet with a customer more than once, and it is certainly very common to talk or email a few times, when the customer has many questions or has changes to make. This is a quality Medina Fence is known for: customizing and individualizing your fence to suite exactly your needs...no high pressure sales, just fine tuning. On Oct. 16, 2012 Brian met with the member to go over the terms of the contract, collect a deposit and sign the contract. It is our company policy to obtain a deposit of half up front so that the material can be ordered right away. Our contract also states that we have a 10% cancellation fee. FROM BRIAN OCT 29, 2012: Hi Member, Received your message, no problem putting it on hold, we will be waiting for you when you are ready. Also, as far as post installation by trees, we will not harm the trees and have to use wood post to fasten the back rails to them. Thanks, Brian FROM THE MEMBER DEC 31, 2012: Brian, Happy New Year to you and your family. While we are waiting for the snow to melt so we can see where the electric lines are, I have another fence for my garden I would like to have posts installed for a nd a gate. There are no underground issues to be concerned about. I had a 16 by 65 foot garden tilled for next year and want to fence it in as soon as weather permits. Its located on the empty side of the lot in front of the evergreen trees. Again there are no underground lines to be concerned about. How high do you think I should go to keep deer out? Between the trees and the garden fence I want a long tall 6 foot pergola tunnel going the width of the garden, 65 feet. So, that would be three rows of posting for the 65 foot length. Gates on both ends of pergola and gate for one end of garden fencing. Yes I am ambitious. I love gardening. Call me when your available to meet me for this additional project. Thanks, Brian and I’m very sorry for all the delays in the other fence. Thanks FROM BRIAN JAN 4, 2013: Hi Member, Thank you, Happy New Year to you and your family! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, our company email was down for a couple days. (Our provider was using the holiday time to make some updates) Can we get together next week to discuss your garden plans and to map out you underground utility lines? We are ready for you when you are. Thanks! Brian JAN 8, 2013 The Member contact our office to set up a meeting with Brian for project discussed in previous emails. On January 10 or 11, our salesman had his 4th meeting with the member, this time with the member in attendance. Brian took measurements for the next fence project (garden and pergola). During this meeting the member informed Brian that the member and other family members voted against her wishes to have the wood picket fence she had contract on Oct. 16, with our company, installed. Future fencing projects were discussed with Brian once their new addition to their home was complete. During this visit, Brian was informed that the members still had not moved in to this property yet. JAN 24, 2013: quote for garden fence sent to the member. (waiting for pergola prices, Brian explained this to the member) FEB 5, 2013: The member emails Brian saying that the garden quote is much higher than he expected. Cancel original fence job altogether and return deposit. FEB 6, 2013: Brian tells the member he will inform the office of his decision. We sent a refund check out on Feb. 15, minus the 10%. By this time, the materials had been sitting here for over two months. We have since had to sell them at a reduced price, which is why we put the cancellation fee in our contracts. There was absolutely nothing sneaky or underhanded about any of our business with the member; Brian said she was a pleasure to discuss her plans with and we were looking forward to installing her fence. We think that this web site is a great idea for customers...after all, our company is made up of people who hire contractors as well, and we all want honest, trustworthy help. However, we don’t think this is the proper response to this situation...no fence installation took place, although we sure would have liked to have installed the members fence for her. Medina Fence has a reputation for integrity and sincerity, not the kind of nonsense the member is talking about here.

Medina Fence Co. did a great job. The salesman and installers helped us create the perfect fence for us and our pets. They used good, quality materials and the installers were punctual and professional. The overall quality and craftsmanship of the fence exceeded my expectations. The only complaint I have is that I had to wait nearly a month for them to start on our fence but it was well worth the wait.

They did a good job. Their service was great and price was great. They did a great job. They came out and got it done. They were very efficient and did excellent work. They were top notch across the board. We had no issues with them at all.
Description of Work: We used Medina Fence Company for fencing about three years ago. We had installed a small metal fence inside the back yard for our dog. They also put fence in one side of our house on the driveway.

Acting on behalf of myself and neighbors on both sides, I sought estimates from Medina Fence and three other companies to install a split rail fence with wire screen on all three lots. Medina Fence was chosen because all three neighbors felt this was the estimate with the highest quality for the estimated price. The property owners association quickly approved our proposal and we contracted with Medina Fence for the project. Once the agreements were signed, it took longer to actually schedule and begin the installation than we had expected. When it came time for the installation, the neighbor to the south withdrew for financial reasons. The resulting cost adjustment to account for the previously shared or common fence and the addition of a 3rd gate for our yard were reasonable and consistent with the costs of the original estimate. Once work was scheduled and started, things moved along quickly with attention to detail and quality. The agreement called for setting the corner and terminal posts in concrete and "tamping in" the others. However, the specific installer for this job chose to set all posts in concrete at no extra cost, thereby assuring stability - especially along the back of the property where the creek often overflows it banks. The work was accomplished with professionalism, using quality materials specified. Extra attention was given to the bottom of the attached screening to discourage digging and tunneling under the fence. The area was completely cleaned up, extra soil removed to a designated space on the property. We were thrilled with the finished product! It exceeded our expectations in quality of materials and workmanship, appearance and functionality. The neighbor to the north was equally pleased with the finished product. When the neighbor to the south saw the quality of the finished work, he committed to moving forward with his yard asap.
Description of Work: Installed a split rail fence with wire screening in our backyard. (Approximately 215 linear feet with 3 gates.) We were looking for an area for our dogs to play freely and for a way to discourage deer and other wildlife from invading our garden and flower beds. The project was planned in collaboration with neighbors on both sides. The neighbor to the north had similar motivations - keep our own pets in and keep unwanted animals and neighborhood pets out. The neighbor to the south does not have pets, but does want to discourage unwanted wildlife and was participating in part to provide a consistent look and feel to the neighborhood. (The neighbor to His south had used Medina Fence to install the same style fence several years earlier. Once completed, this would mean four lots in a row with the same style fence.) We live within a neighborhood association with all four lots abutting a small creek and the association common area. As association members we are all concerned with the appearance, style and quality of major property improvements such as fencing. In addition, the association would have to sign-off on the proposal prior to installation.

The process for the fence purchase and installation was easy and efficient. The company has also completed a fence project for my brother and it was on his recommendation that I also used Medina Fence and am very happy I did. I highly recommend the company.
Description of Work: I had a complete fence installation in the backyard of my property. The fence included the gates and meshing to prevent my puppy from escaping the back yard. The salesman was very helpful and quickly completed all required measurements. The company was responsive and my fence was beautifully completed quickly and neatly with no damage to my landscaping or lawn.

I saw his work other places and contacted him for an estimate. He walked around and looked carefully at the property. I contacted a couple of people for estimates, and his estimate was the best. He did the work and I am very PLEASED with it. He put in a hand built shadow fence, and it is exactly what I wanted. It is a nice fence.
