The entire job went very well. We had 3 companies quote and Gundlach and one other company quoted multiple options including heat pump with gas furnace back up. We opted for a conventional, high efficiency gas furnace and air conditioning unit with a humidifier. The installation went very well and took a little under two days to complete. The installers were very thorough, orderly, respectful and detail oriented. They arrived when promised each day and also did a very nice job of cleaning up after the job - - - inside and out - - - and were very careful moving the new equipment in and the old out.

Overall a positive experience, although slightly more expensive than hoped for. I would consider using them again since their level of professionalism and post-install support is probably worth the cost, but I'll still continue to go the DIY route for most day-to-day plumbing maintenance at my house. I started with a call to the office to request an estimate for the services required and scheduled an on-site visit for the plumber to assess the job; he showed up exactly when scheduled a day or two later and was a likeable older guy. There was no cost for the estimate. A couple of days later I called the office to find out what the estimate was since they hadn't responded. Was given a verbal estimate which seemed a little high, but was informed that if the actual labor went faster than expected then the invoice would be reduced accordingly. Was also informed that if the labor took longer than the estimate then the invoice would be capped at the estimated amount. I would have preferred a written estimate (and one was offered at this time), but elected not to wait for a few more days for it to arrive by mail since the company is well-established in our area and I was not particularly worried about possible cost disputes. We scheduled the job for the following week. The plumber again showed up exactly when scheduled. He coordinated the water shutoff/turn on with the water department without any problems, and worked efficiently at the three tasks. When complete we visually checked the work to make sure everything was as expected before he left. The replacement parts supplied were of good quality, and the work areas were cleaned up appropriately afterwards. I received the invoice a couple of days later for the full amount of the estimate. While not entirely unexpected, I had hoped it would have been reduced a little since the work went completely smoothely. After a few days we discovered that one of the valves had a very small leak that wasn't apparent during the initial install. I called the office and the plumber came back out the next day; both the office and the plumber apologized for the inconvenience and there was no charge for the repair.

The service tech cleaned and made the necessary repairs to the thermostat and heater. He was kind and professional.

They were price competitive. They had a forward man come out and decide where everything was going to go. Then two men came and performed the installation. They were very careful coming in and out of the house. They cleaned their feet before they came in. They left the work area very clean when they left. I would definitely have them back. The initial estimate they provided was lower than another company we had provide an estimate the year before. The quality of the work was perfect. From the time they gave us the quote to the time they did the work was approximately two weeks. They did well to alert us the time and day as to when the work would be performed.

I was very happy with this company. The crew is very considerate and knowledgeable about the trade. They are very accommodating as well. There prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this company to anyone and would use them again.
