I requested bids from several local contractors for a major remodel. Raesnor Construction was the first to respond with a written proposal. He originally came to the location and we discussed what I was lokking for. I already had blueprints of the job. The company kept in contact advising me how the bid was progressing. I did receive a very detailed proposal from the company, down to the nails. However, I had specified that I wanted hard cell blown in insulation and a metal roof. The quote did not specify those items. I e-mailed back to the company asking for an updated quote with those items in mind but never received a response. Lastly, the original bid was almost twice as high as other bids received.

In July, a summer storm dropped a very large tree on the front of our home, damaging the gutters, roof line and ultimately the entire roof of our large front porch. After we were able to get the tree off, insurance told us to get quotes and submit them. We haven't used a contractor for over 20 years, but we contacted four that were local and seemed reliable. We explained we needed written estimates. All, except for Raseneor Contracting,never reurned. They all wanted to deal only with the agent. Mr. Raseneor brought us quotes, the way we requested, and gave us references, which we also requested. Then, when insurance seemed to balk at the scope of repairs, he spoke with the adjustor. The repairs included new roofing for all three floors of our home, rebuilding the front porch and new seamless gutters for the home. The crew worked every day including one Saturday to insure our roof was sealed (the weather was rainy). A sub-contractor handled the gutter application. Both crews cleaned the premises after they left each day and did a magnetic sweep for any nails they could find (spring grass cutting may find a few more).
