The work went extremly well. Bruce wasn't here for the first two days due to personal matters but his two helpers, Steve and Gary were extremly hard warkers and they were moving around so fast that they were making me tired just hearing them as they upgraded my fuse panel to circuit breakers. Bruce, Steve, and Gary were there for the remaining three days and they did a wonderful job as they rewired my kitchen and installed the lights, switches, and receptacles. They have to return one last time (for this job) once my countertop and all of my cabinets are installed but I am already considering having them do some more electrical work for me to install more recessed lights in the living room and dining room.

Very well. Three electricians arrived. One electrician installed a new switch for my backyard light. The other two looked over the areas of where to install the outlet for a garbage disposal. The backing on the wall is very thick and it would have been tricky to cut through it to install a new place for the switch for the disposal so they suggested installing a combination switch (for the disposal) and outlet where I already had an outlet. My kitchen light did not have a light socket, but it had power, The electricians left to purchase the new outlet and light socket and two electricians returned to finish the job. They were polite, friendly, professional and cleaned up when they were finished. I chose Hare Electric based on the positive reviews from other homeowners who have used them. I'm very pleased with this company.

Great, but had to contact him several times to get things scheduled and get the written estimate.

I had two very difficult ceiling fan installations because of living on the third floor of a five story building with concrete floors. Bruce and his crew did a great job and I am very pleased with the results. They also installed two light fixtures in bathrooms and these, too, were not your ordinary installations. Again, a great job!

He did a nice job. He kept in touch with me via email while we waited for the parts to come in. He came in with a couple of helpers and replaced the fan box and then bought a remote control which was the less expensive option that he had proposed.

They were prompt and were on time. They were just very good.

Overall it went very well but there was a problem which I?ll explain later in this report. Bruce and I set up an appointment to replace the smoke detector between 1:00 and 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Bruce arrived at about 1:45 PM. He went about his business in a workman-like manner and replaced the old smoke detector with the new one. Speaking as a casual observer he seemed to know exactly what he was doing and had no problems with the job. Once replaced, he tested the new detector. It worked and that was it. Bruce does not accept credit cards and, since I rarely use checks, I paid in cash. This was not a problem and I understand completely. I then asked him about several other electrical jobs that I needed to have done and he was very helpful. He gave me a good tip on one of them and quoted me $95 total on replacing an outside light fixture and a small chandelier in the dining room if they were done at the same time. He would supply the labor and I would supply the parts. I consider this a real bargain. The only problem we had occurred prior to him doing the job. We had been corresponding strictly by email, which I prefer, and I was able to show him pictures of the old ceiling-mounted smoke detector and pictures of the new smoke detector, which I had previously purchased at Amazon.com. I was also able to give him the link to the new smoke detector at Amazon?s website. With this information he could see exactly what the job entailed. Now for the problem? I emailed Bruce on Sunday, April 11, 2010. The following day, on Monday, April 12th Bruce emailed me back and said ?I need to finish the project that I am working on. I should finish it tomorrow but I would like to make sure that it goes the way I plan. I will get back to you as soon as I am sure of my schedule for the rest of the week.? The end of the week came and he did not email me. I had indicated that there was no real rush but three weeks went by and I had not heard a word from him. I almost went back to Angie?s website to choose another electrical contractor and give Hare Electric straight F?s. But I thought I?d give him a chanced to do the job and emailed him on Monday, May 3rd to find out if he still wanted to do the job. Later that day I received an email from him which said ?I can do it any day this week after Tuesday.? There was no explanation on why three weeks had passed and he had not gotten back to me. We then set up the appointment for the following Wednesday, May 5th. And as I said above the job went very well. After completing the job Bruce apologized for the three week delay and said he had to go to Haiti on short notice. I accepted his apology but one of my biggest complaints about contractors is that they say they are going to do something and then don?t do it. This has happened to me many, many times. They did what they said they?d do, and they did it well. They were reasonably priced and just excellent.

I contacted Bruce after reviewing reports on angies list and receiving estimates from two other contractors. Bruce was by far the most thorough when preparing his estimate and I felt very confident during his visit. After coordinating my appointment, Bruce was on time and after briefly verifying the work to be performed, got right to work. All work was performed as agreed upon with the work site clean up each day. We encountered problems with some of the old wiring and Bruce was always ready to present solutions that were sensitive to costs yet still keeping with our original work that we wanted performed. I plan on using this company to perform work on my kitchen remodel and 3 season room in the next three months. I can't recommend them enough.

Everything has been great. He is good to work with, and is friendly and respectful. His work is of high quality, and his prices are very reasonable and fair. We have been quite happy with him and will continue to use him.

They e-mailed the estimate to me within 4 days after I spoke to them. They came out promptly in a couple of days after I called them and they looked at the house where the work had to be done. The estimate was a little higher compared to another one that I got, but they were very professional. One company said that since it was a small job, they didn?t require a permit. However, Hare Electric specifically told us that they require a permit. Since we like to get the things done in the right way, we were very comfortable with what the electrician from Hare Electric said he was going to do. They adjusted the quote when I added a few other things that I wanted them to do. Since I am traveling and because of their schedule, they will not be able to do the work until next week. So, they are going to come in the next week to get the work done.

We have 40-50 fluorescent light fixtures in our small office building, none of them are new and some worked only once in awhile. Many had one tube burned out and one working, some had bad ballasts. They checked every one and replaced all the burned out tubes as well as repairing a bad ballast. They worked in our busy office in the middle of the day yet we hardly knew they were here. They were extremely quiet and respectful and really did not interfere with our business at all. True professionals.

He seemed to be pretty thorough and very well organized. I have used him twice and will use him in future.

Very positive experience. Provided an itemized price list of work to be done & was able to choose all or any of items to be done. Responded to phone calls & emails in a timely fashion. Bruce Hare arrived on the agreed date & time with his assistant & after he introduced him they got to work & worked steadily & efficently till work was complete. Final bill was what was expected. Working with Bruce was refreshing since he knows his stuff & gets the work done. His prices are reasonable & you won't be sorry if you hire him.

From the first phone call to the completion of the job, Mr. Hare was polite, pleasant and professional. Mr. Hare called back quickly, submitted a competitive bid, and scheduled the job in a timely fashion. The job itself took part of the morning and all afternoon, with Mr. Hare and an assistant diligently working on the areas that needed attention. He took extra time to allow me to see the solution to the wiring problem with the under-cabinet lights, which was functional and safe, but just a touch less perfect than installing from scratch. He patiently waited while I considered whether to opt for a more extensive, but pricey, modification. Both in this area, and in other aspects of the job we discussed, he presented a balanced discussion of ways to repair the problems without spending unnecessary money on the job. I really appreciated that he took extra care in capping off an unused 220 line that had been previously used for a hot tub. He not only cut power at the local breaker box and capped off the wires, but also disconnected the lines from the main breaker as an extra protection against accidents with our young children. I would highly recommend him to anyone who asked, and plan to have him back to address other areas in the future.

Very smooth. Bruce and his crew worked efficiently and were able to do most of the work without turning off power in the house for any extended period. Bruce was very good at asking about anything he needed to do such as walking throughout the house to label breakers or turning off power.

Bruce is always our first call, since he basically rewired our house a few years ago and knows older houses well. We had a circuit breaker keep tripping, and since it was connected to our boiler, we needed it fixed right away. We called Bruce at 7 pm, he called back at 8:30pm and was out the next day. He discovered that several lines of old (20-30 years) wiring had become dried out and the insulation had worn off and shorted each other out. He and his assistant worked very hard to identify the lines and replaced them and did not stop until they got everything working right. He is great, we'll be using him again when the weather gets warmer to replace some more of the lines that will probably suffer the same fate soon.

They changed the wiring and added what is called a circuit board or a fuse box, so they actually basically revamped the wiring in the house. They were incredibly professional. They came out with a digital photography, they would not give an estimate just then as they had to take back the entire information and they took pictures of all the different areas and then gave a computed estimate. They also provided quality options whether we wanted to opt for high-end, medium, or low-end materials, meaning the box and depending on that they would provide the electrical equipment which would give one the option to have different pay scales; low price, medium, and high price depending on what one chose as the materials. We shall certainly use them in the future, if need be.

When he was done, he gave me a print-out that listed everything he replaced down to each wire. He is probably the most amazing person I've had do any kind of work. He had everything documented perfectly. He just did amazing work.

In my history with them, the best way to contact them is by cell phone, not their business phone. The business phone goes to an answering machine, and he gets back to you, but if you want immediate results you contact their cell phone.

Bruce was quick to respond to my call and arrived the next day to give me a quote. My home has been a victim of a "mish-mash" of electrical contractors before I purchased it, so there are a couple of code problems on top of just the work at hand. He pretty calmly laid out what other work (items 4 and 5 above) should be done on top of the line feed replacement that I originally inquired about. All of the work was done within a day, with minimal disruption to my family.
