Bruce was very professional, responsive and accomodating. He provided a replacement fan as requested and the crew (Gary, Anthony and Luke) was outstanding. They felt like family. I would absolutely recommend them again! They arrived smiling and happy. They left with no trace of being here and I don't believe the job was a breeze. They took time to play with the dog even! We had to coordinate a change of dates and Bruce was VERY helpful.

We scheduled the appointment for 6:00 so I had time to get home from work. The technicican arrived early and called to let me know he arrived early. I explained I would not be home any sooner and it was not a problem, I was not home when the work was performed, my girlfriend had all the interractions, so I cannot provide too much detail. She was very impressed with their professionalism, he explained in detail all the work he was performing. She wanted me to mentioned how kind he was. He diagnosed the issues being the switch was a 4-way and previous owner tried to bypass as a 3-way. This was great because it explained why we had a light switch that didn't appear to work. Once he completed the work, he explained everything to my GF and she asked if he would call me also to explain what he did. He kindly agreed and called. Overall, very impressed and will hire again!

They were fine but we purchased an hour of service time for $95. The first thing they had to do didn’t take an hour. They came back a second time to do another project and charged us their normal hourly rate, which was actually less than the big deal. They were very good and I would call them again, but it wasn’t much of a deal for us with the Angie’s List deal.

I called 4 electricians for this project chosen from Angie's List. Hare Electric was one of the two contractors who returned my call and gave me a written estimate. Another contractor had installed a cable to heat a gutter and downspout at the rear of my home but did not hook this up. The cable ended in a 3-prong plug that he suggested I connect to an extension cord and plug in to the existing GFI outlet on my deck. Naturally I declined to do this. I wanted an interior switch and to have a trained electrician finish the installation in a way that would be safe and according to code. Mr Hare suggested installing a new GFI outlet near where the cable came down from the roof (about 4 feet off the ground)) with a weather-proof cover. He said they could connect this outlet to my existing GFI outlet on the deck, for which he suggested another weather-proof cover, and from there go through to my interior dining room wall and add on to an existing switch to provide a lighted switch to control the gutter wires. I also asked for an estimate on a surge protector at my electrical panel. Mr. Hare provided the written estimate ($385.00 less a $20 coupon for Angie's List Membership for a total of $365.00) within a reasonable time and was prompt in responding to schedule the work when I accepted his estimate. His crew was on time. When they arrived I also asked about replacing the GFI outlet in my kitchen. They agreed to do this for an additional $47.00 to cover labor and parts. This was acceptable to me. They did the work very professionally and cleaned up after themselves. They showed me what they had done and how the weatherproof covers operated. They explained the operation of the surge protector. In addition, they replaced the GFI outlet on my deck at no additional cost even though this was not part of the original proposal when they found it was not working properly. I was very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to call on this company again.

The three gentlemen arrived timely, preformed the work quickly and cleaned up after the job was completed. I was very happy with their service and professionalism.

I called Hare Electric in the morning and they arranged to come that afternoon. I was shocked that they could accommodate me. The other electrician I called was very non-committal and never called me back. The electrician from Hare was on time and very pleasant. He worked quickly and thoroughly and fixed the problem within just a few minutes. He did several safety checks to be sure the unit was functioning properly. This was a very positive experience and I wlll call Hare if I need any other electrical work. Also, I like that this is a family operation (father and son).

Showed up on time and acted professionally. 1 outlet was switched to the new box with no issues. The other was above a fireplace and the electrician advised that it could be a complicated job. We opted not to have the 2nd outlet done based on his advice. That actually worked out well because the TV we mounted there was only a 2 prong ungrounded plug that didn't require the new 3 prong grounded outlet anyway. The total cost for the 1 outlet was $225 which seemed a little expensive but I have no idea what electrical work is supposed to cost.

I had to reschedule the service at the last minute and they were very understanding and willing to work within my time off from work. They checked everything I asked for. Very nice young men.

They were not on time for the appt but I was able to get an appt the same week. They did good work once they arrived and were the most reasonable estimate I received.

They were very conscious of doing a good job since I am an Angie's List customer, and they did. Excellent all around.

Two young men (I apologize for not remembering their names!) showed up on time and were very friendly and professional. The work was done quickly and exactly to my satisfaction. They were both great with my dog which always gets providers brownie points with me. I would definitely use this company in the future for my electrical needs.

Punctional and professional

I had indicated on the scheduling form that the situation was a little urgent, as my daughter had smelled a burning smell coming from a fuse box in the basement - in addition to one circuit in the house not working. Bruce responded within a half-hour (despite my purchasing this Big Deal at 6:00 pm on a Thursday evening) that he'd be at the house in the morning. To be fair to Bruce, I'm sure he has a full appointment load already so "breaking a hole" in the day to come and inspect this situation could not have been very easy. But to use his words, "when you say there's a burning smell, I don't want to lose any time"... He came over right on time and within 10 minutes had the problem diagnosed and repaired. He also identified some longer term work that is necessary to enable this older building to meet current building code and is in the process of designing the optimal approach to that and providing me with a quote. Bruce is honest and expert. He has a very friendly and compassionate approach. I recommend him highly if you want the job done right.

He came to our home and let us know the service wasn't necessary and suggested an alternate solution.

I called Hare electric and left massage twice. No return call. I called Angie's list. Angie's list contacted Hare electric. Hare electric called me. I explained what I needed done. They came to house(5/16/14) and said they needed to get a box with timer and again I said I already requested that the first time I called. Hare electric said they would be back the following week to install box. I waited until 5/22/14 Thursday A.M. no one called me and I called and said I'm going out of town, I would be back in three days. I came home sat. and message was on my phone 5/22/14 in the afternoon and they said they could come out that day and install box. I'm thinking they didn't get my message. I called Monday 5/26/14 & left message, I was home and could we set up another time for them to come to house. Today is 5/27/14 2:10 p.m. and I still haven't heard from them. I'm not upset and I'm sure there was a miscommunication, but they could have been more professional.

Hare Electric did an excellent job. We felt we were advised on what exactly we needed to do to address our issue - and what we did not need to do and would be a waste of money. Work was done well and on-time. Would recommend and will be using again in the future.

Completed work then sent a bill for the cost of materials.

It took a bit longer to schedule the appointment than desired, but that's par for the course with Big Deal offers I've found. While the electrician was pleasant to deal with, he couldn't fix the problem and suggested that it was a problem with the electricity coming into the house and directed us to call the electric company to fix. He specifically said we weren't getting full power from the pole. The electric company came out and verified that we had full power and was in disbelief that the electrician told us otherwise. Before I could call another electrician, half of the power went out in our house, so I called the electrician back. Since it was freezing outside, it was imperative that we get the issue resolved. While he did squeeze us in immediately, he failed to fix the problem yet again. And, yet again, he said it was an issue for the electric company & the wiring to the house should be checked and possibly replaced. Desperate, I called the electric company again and they sent a technician out late that Saturday night. Again, he verified power was coming to the house, but he was willing to replace the wires if need be. I couldn't see the logic in that, so I had a handy friend come over and he helped me discover that the sole issue was loose wiring in a basement junction box in the ceiling right below the original outlet that didn't work. Apparently, that box set off the chain reaction that cut power in other parts of the house. After tightening some caps on the wires, ALL THE POWER RETURNED and hasn't failed in the 6 months since. As nice as the folks from Hare were, this was an amazing failure of diagnosis and service on their part. Had I not been skeptical of their recommendations, we would have had the electric company replacing all of the outdoor wiring to our house for nothing.
