I couldn't be happier with how my floors turned out. Zoltan and his guys were all very friendly, professional and on time. They refinished the floors in my first floor living room, hallway, closets and 2 bedrooms in just 3 days and they really look great. If/when I have the stairs and second floor done, I will definitely use them again. The attached pictures show before and after.

Excellent. Color was perfect and everything was on time and beautiful!

First class job. I was even out of town for the stain selection, but I was sent photos of the stain samples on a sanded part of my floor, and I was able to make the absolutely correct selection from those photos! The floors are gorgeous, perfect really, and I am extremely happy.

Wonderfully.....expert work, attention to detail, three times we have used them in two different houses, the first house was three rooms and stairs refinished, this was repair but was done so you would never know it was not original to the existing hardwood floors.

I cannot say enough good things about this company and the work that they did in my home. I contracted with Zoltan to refinish the floors in my entire house. From the very first time I spoke on the phone with him until the last day he finished the work, his customer service was excellent. He is kind, knowledgable, accommodating, and thorough. He worked with me to schedule and his price was fair (I had three other estimates). The work was incredible. He transformed 75 year old floors and they look amazing! He and his crew were meticulous and very skilled. I am more than pleased with this company and would recommend them highly. They even completed the job in less time than originally thought. They were gentle with my home as it was newly painted and they cleaned up everyday. Arrived on time and communicated well everything that was happening.

We were so pleased with not only the quality of work and the finished look of our floors, we were also so impressed with Zoltan's professionalism and customer service. His team worked efficiently, communicated well with us about what they were doing. Zoltan stayed in constant contact with us throughout the process, making sure we were pleased with the work. Our hardwood floors were in bad shape with dark stains that were visible once we removed our carpeting. It is truly amazing how beautiful our living area is after Zoltan's crew completed refinishing our floors. Zoltan was great helping us with the stain color. It is so hard looking a small patch and trying to visualize how it will look for the whole area. They were such hard workers and Zoltan's daily communication and answering all our questions was very much appreciated. Great job! Will recommend to our friends.

Very nice owner/carpenter who works very hard, but turned out he was not truly capable of completing the job as I had specified to stain the new floors to match the existing hardwood floors in adjacent areas of our home, although he was very positive that he could make a "beautiful floor" for us. First, I was disappointed in the quality of the flooring product he used -- the material was from Lumber Liquidators. Second, he asked me which direction I wanted the flooring to go and I told him the same direction as in the adjacent foyer. However, when I checked in on the work about 45 mins. later, the flooring was going the opposite direction I had specified. He did remove the flooring he had installed incorrectly & start over. (That left a huge mess in my basement from small pieces of sub floor that got ripped up/off when he removed the flooring to start over again.) My suggestion is to put a piece of paper on the floor & draw arrows with the way you want the floor laid. Third, he put two small stain samples on the new floor after the first sanding for me to choose from. Neither of the two stain colors were really a match, but he thought that one of them would work and led me to believe him. He applied the stain & first finish coat & IT DID NOT MATCH - NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! I had to bring in a professional painter/wood stainer the next day because I could not let him finish the floor that way. Thankfully, he did agree to work with the additional person I brought in to salvage the job, but it was a nightmare!! I suggest, you make him use at least two or three spare boards from the job, sand, stain & add a top coat for you to pick your stain color from. AND, if neither of his stain options are want you want or need, do not accept what he is offering. Make him go to a paint store & have their employees create a custom stain that will match what you need or want because this carpenter does not know how to do that. Fourth, the trim pieces (shoe molding) were not cut with great accuracy & there are a few other places where more complicated cuts in the flooring installation are not quite tight (obvious gaps). Lastly, I would definitely spend more money to use a contractor who has a DUSTLESS sanding system. Not only was there a pile of dust throughout my home, but it was sucked into the HVAC system because the air conditioning was on throughout the job. (The AC had to be on to get the finish coats to dry because of the heat & humidity outside.) I ended up having to have my HVAC duct system cleaned about a month after the job because the dust just continued to recirculate through the house.

Zoltan and his crew worked fast. Finished a day early. Cleaned up everything. Did everything they said they'd do and also did additional extras at no charge. I tried to pay him additional and he refused to extra payment and would only accept what we agreed upon per the quote even though he did more and went beyond expectations. Very trust worthy, respectful, and worked around our family's schedule. Would hire him to do work again in a heartbeat. Very very highly recommended. The work was very high quality and done exactly as we asked. Meticulous crew.

Great--the crew did a fantastic job of making my gnarly old floors look new. Zoltan is a great communicator. I was constantly kept informed about progress and scheduling, which was important because the work was not being done at my residence. I'd venture to say that Zoltan is the single most cheery contractor that I have ever encountered. I will definitely use him on my next project.

Zoltan, the owner, came out and gave me an estimate for all 3 floors, and the hall closet. Based on the large number of positive reviews on Angie's List, I decided to hire him. All 3 bedrooms floors were supposed to be done at the same time and I had completely emptied 2 bedrooms and he was going to help me move the furniture out of the 3rd bedroom. I had to wait approx. 6 weeks for the work to begin because Zoltan had so many other jobs lined up. When the day came, Zoltan and his helper arrived and completed 2 floors. He said he would come back to work on the last floor, though it wouldn't be for another month or so. I was extremely disappointed. He was finally able to work me into his schedule a couple of weeks in the future. The work that he and his helpers did was very good and I was pleased with the results. My concern was when Zoltan finished the first 2 floors, he wanted me to write a check payable to his company for part of the amount due, and another check for the balance payable to his helper. I thought that was very strange and I told him I wasn't comfortable doing that since he could conceivably come back to me later and tell me that he hadn't been paid in full. I ended up writing the checks the way he requested, however, I made photocopies of the checks I wrote and told Zoltan that he was going to have to sign the proposal and indicate that he and his helper had been paid in full. When one of his helpers came out and completed the work on the 3rd bedroom a couple weeks later, I was told to make the check payable to the person who completed the work and not to "Cleveland Hardwood Flooring LLC." As I said previously, I was not comfortable doing it this way, and I don't believe this is a good business practice AT ALL.

I was nervous about selecting the right company to install the new hardwoods in the entire first floor of our new home. From the first call, Zoltan was polite, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the work that needed done. The week of installation, he and Janos arrived on time, kept me informed during the whole process if issues arose and cleaned up at the end of each day. The floors look amazing and we are very satisfied with their workmanship and appreciated their professionalism just as much. We will definitely recommend them to friends and use them for any future projects.

From the first call to Zolton at Cleveland Hardwood floors to the last finishing touch the communication and responsiveness exceeded my high expectations. Zolton came the day after I moved into my home and looked at the floors that were over 60 years old and had been covered with carpeting and been abused by pets. He assured me that the floors could be refinished and would look beautiful. He took measurements, told me about the process and then provided an estimate within one business day. I was really pleased with the estimate because the floors looked beyond repair in my opinion and I was afraid he was going to say they needed to be replaced. I did have to wait a few weeks for the work to be done because they were booked but that to me was a sign that he is good at what he does. That was an understatement. I cannot imagine anyone better! He answered the questions that I had promptly, usually within an hour. I moved out of my home for the 4 days that the work was being done and Zoltan gave me updates regularly, sometimes more than once a day. He also provided photos to reassure me of the quality of work. When I came back in and saw the floors I was amazed! They are absolutely beautiful and while they were exactly what I was hoping for I really didn't think they could ever look so good. Zolton and his associates went above and beyond in every aspect along the way. They were personable, down to earth, set expectations and exceeded them. They are the best contractor I have ever worked with.

What a job. He did the floors when we were out of town, we had only met him once but trusted him with our house. He went out of his way, sending us pictures on a daily basis to let us know know the job was coming. Can I say again, we trusted him with our house when we were out of the country. That says alot about his character. The end job was incredible!!! The floors look great. The deep scratches from the big box Home improvement store are almost gone. ( Every other floor person told us to replace the floors at 5X what we paid. ) Zoltan and his guys made a miracle, the floors look great and you would never notice where the scratches were. Pick him and know that you will have the best craftsmanship.

Zoltan performed the contracted services within the price and timeframe as originally agreed to. I could not give Zoltan an A primarily due to a scheduling issue. We contacted Zoltan in January to perform this installation in March. We let him know that we would be moving into the house and would like to have the floor installed prior to move in since our bedroom furniture would not be there and it would make the installation go smoothly. We agreed on an installation date. A week before the installation date, I met with Zoltan so he could take final measurements. Then 2 days later he told me the earliest he could do the installation would be 3 weeks from the originally agreed upon date. I was shocked. When I reminded him that we would be moving into the home and had to have it in no later than 3 days after our mutually agreed upon installation date, Zoltan said, "As I said April 6th!! That is the soonest we can get in!!" At that time, I told Zoltan we wouldn't be able to use him since we would be moving in and that with less than a week to go I would have to find another floor contractor. As I started the review with, Zoltan met the original contract terms and installed the flooring on the originally agreed upon day, but I was shocked that he waited so long to tell me the date wouldn't work and for a day or two it was an unnecessary stress during a period of time that was already busy. For a company on Angie's List that is listed with an A-rating, I would expect much more than this.

The job was done efficiently and with minimum impact to the flow of normal life. I appreciated the fact that this job was scheduled rather quickly because I had a tight schedule (needed to schedule the work from estimate to completion in less than 6 weeks) and it was completed in under two. My new stairs look beautiful. Tamas and his colleague did a wonderful job, and Zoltan was very helpful in scheduling and estimating the work.

He was punctual and helpful. Although we decided to delay our project, I would highly recommend him.

We had estimates from a few different companies to install hardwood in our living room, all roughly in the same price range. We picked Cleveland Hardwood Flooring because they were professional, responsive, and dedicated to doing a great job. When it came time for the install, Zoltan and his crew were on time, efficient, and kept the dust & work confined to our living room. This is a great company, and I highly recommend them.
