We had an excellent experience. Zoltan came out and gave us an estimate, which was only about $100 more than other quotes we had but I'm very glad that we choose him (due to his professionalism, knowledge and timeline). Our floors were in terrible shape from all of the wear and tear of years of abuse. He was able to begin work very quickly, was always very punctual, extrememly responsive to phone calls, and answered all of my questions in great detail. He left nothing unanswered and always addressed my concerns. Both gentlemen were very courteous and respectful. The job took 3 days total, and we are very happy with the results. I would highly recommend them and would also consider using them in the future if any additional work should present itself. Great job Zoltan and team, very high quality job. The end result was much better than I could have imagined.

Zoltan came out on a Sunday to give an estimate. He made a good first impression with his professionalism. He explained the complete work procedure. We hired him the next day. They arrived on time, worked around our work schedule and finished the job on time. He adjusted the color of stain to match or kitchen floor. We were completely satisfied with their work and would hire them again.

They were knowledgeable. They knew what they were talking about. They were very friendly and personable. They were excellent. They showed up early and got the job done on track and on target.

Zolton met with my wife and I at lumber liquidators to look at flooring. We purchased the floor from Lumber liquidators ourselves and he picked it up for us. The installation took 2 days with the refinishing taking 3 days (mostly he came and put on a fresh coat each day and left). Zolton and his employee were prompt efficient and courteous. They fixed minor bits I pointed out as they went along. They asked me my opinion of how I wanted things done and didn't assume (eg.wood direction and how to handle the thresholds in the crawl spaces). When they accidentally damaged the plaster adjacent to the stairs just fixed it. I probably wouldn't have known it even happened except he asked for the paint in my basement to finish the repair.

They were extremely professional and easy to work with. It was an amazing experience and there was not a drop of mess anywhere. They were completely flexible when we had scheduling changes. The floors look great now.

I signed up on Angie's list with the intention of finding a refinisher with good reviews to evaluate my options. Cleveland Hardwood Floors came to the top of the list with over a 100 fabulous, glowing reviews just like the ones here. After sending an email to Zoltan, he immediately called me back and explained everything to me. At that point, I know he was the one that I wanted to perform the job. When Zoltan was onsite for the evaluation, he mentioned that I probably wouldn't require a stain and that the floors would be perfect. Zoltan and John came out over a weekend and the floors were PERFECT. Three bedrooms floors, a stairwell, and a hallway that put the new laminate downstairs to shame. I should also mention that there was very little dust and they were very neat. THANKS FOR THE GREAT WORK!!!

Fantastic!! Called Zoltan for an estimate on refinishing the existing red oak hardwood floors in our 56 year old ranch house. They had never been refinished before and were badly in need of it. From the moment I met Zoltan I knew I had to look no further. He has a fantastic personality, wonderful knowledge of his trade and is always so upbeat, friendly, honest and kind. The kind of person you give your house key to and have no worries. He is also a wonderful communicator. Calls to give status reports often and is so prompt. When Zoltan says he will be at your place at 7:30, he is there 5 minutes before that. Zoltan and John came on Friday, October 8th to begin the sanding at 7:30 am. (I told you he is extremely prompt.) Zoltan then called me at around 11 am and asked if I would stop by to see the stain that he had selected for the floors since the living room was already sanded. I had told Zoltan to pick out the stain himself since he knows so much more about this kind of thing than I do but he wanted me to see it first just so that I agreed with him. I could have skipped this step because I truly knew I could not go wrong with his choice of stain. We did stay at a hotel for 4 nights since there was no furniture and also to avoid the varnish smell but we did stop by Saturday and Sunday nights to re-close all the windows (which Zoltan said you can do as long as you have socks on your feet).The job was completed Sunday October 10th and we came back into the house on Tuesday, October 12th. Zoltan returned Tuesday night and he and his other helper Bobby replaced all the furniture for us. John and Bobby were such nice guys. And Zoltan, you are a gem! We women always change our minds about furniture and twice poor Zoltan had to move heavy pieces from one room and another (plus he took two heavy dressers out to the garage) but he did it all with that beautiful smile on his face. The floors are absolutely beautiful. I just sit in my living room at night and just admire these 56 year old hardwoods. Thanks again Zoltan for an absolutely wonderful job on the floors. Good luck with your new house and I know that you will ace your Citizenship test.

Our experience with Cleveland Hardwood was overwhelmingly positive from start to finish. When Zoltan came to give us the estimate, he arrived prepared with a photo album of previous work, names and numbers of references, and sample finishes we could look at. These details made us feel like he would give the same attention to our project. He followed up with us a few days after giving us the estimate, showing that he was truly interested in our business. He answered all of our questions, both at the original time of the estimate and in follow-up phone calls, and never made us feel like we were bothering him by asking them. He worked with us to find a time that would fit our schedule for the installation. He told us he would arrive at 7:30 am on the first day, and he and John were both here promptly at 7:30 that day and every following day. They worked very quickly and efficiently but also did quality work. We had a couple of minor details that needed to be followed up on a few days after the job was finished, and they came over very promptly and fixed these minor issues. Our floors are beautiful, and everyone who has seen them (including another contractor doing other work) has been impressed with the job. Our kitchen feels brand-new. We couldn't be happier.

Fantastic. Zoltan was energetic, enthusiastic and professional. His quote was aggressive, and he seemed to really want our business. He explained our options thoroughly and came out before the job to do some sample sanding and staining to allow us to pick a color from how it looked on the floor rather than from a paint chip. He was able to schedule the job while we were away on vacation and he provided a daily voice mail update of the progress on the project. The job was completed on time and on budget. He offered free touch-up of any part of the floor damaged by moving the furniture back in place. Because of his great work ethic and enthusiasm, we have dubbed him "Zoltan the Magnificent."

I got an estimate on Friday. Work was completed Saturday and Sunday. The floor looks like new, beautiful. Hard to believe it's the same floor.

Zoltan came and gave an estimate, made suggestions for a hard-wood floor that was damaged by cat urine through carpeting. Zoltan informed me as to when they could begin, and they completed the work on time. He and John arrived when they said they would, and they performed the work they said they would. Even though my husband was home during the work, Zoltan even went the extra mile by calling me to keep me in formed of the job's progress. The suggestion of going fairly dark in the areas that were damaged was the right recommendation, The effect of the dark with the natural on the stairs and hallway and landing is beautiful. It came out better than I could have ever hoped. The floors came out beautifully, and we are thrilled with the results. I would definitely recommend Cleveland Hardwood Floors, and will be calling them when we move.

Our "new" floors look great. Zoltan was very responsive from the first time we called, very professional, worked with our schedule and was very considerate of our children. Communication was fabulous. He came back a couple of times to put some finishing touches on the project. Wonderful work all around. The floor has "character" in some spots -- it's 80 years old after all -- and he pointed them out to us and was able to minimize them -- all at a very reasonable price. It's no wonder he has so many positive reviews!

Our experience with Zoltan and John from Cleveland Hardwood Flooring was excellent! Our new floors look fantastic. Zoltan came to our house for a quote the day after I called him after finding his name on Ange's List. His quote included removing the tile and carpet that was in place - I was planning to do the removal myself, as I anticipated some issues with the sub-floor that I preferred to address myself - and I was looking to keep costs down. My wife and I were very impressed with Zoltan's knowledge and professionalism, but we received three additional quotes just to make sure we were doing our homework. I called Zoltan back, told him I was planning to do the demo, but asked him how much he would charge to install the new baseboard molding I was planning on installing - he indicated he would do it as part of the price quoted, as he wanted my business. While he was the leading candidate when I called him, this sealed the deal. We scheduled a date to start a few weeks later, and I then ordered the hardwood floors. The hardwood floors could not be delivered in time for the flooring to become acclimated to the temperature and humidity in the house, so I had to call Zoltan to find a new start date - he was very accommodating, and we pushed it back a few weeks. Zoltan and John began work on a Wednesday - they installed approximately 80% of the floor, came back on Thursday, finished installation, and began sanding - before sanding, Zoltan put 5 color samples on the floor for my wife and I to be able to choose the color without looking at a tiny sample. On Friday, they did a quick sanding and put the first 2 coats of finish on the floor. We had to be off the floors until at least 5 pm. They were back on Saturday morning to do a final buffing, install the baseboard moldings and transition strips, and apply the final coat of poly. They finished up around 11 am, and we were needed to stay off of the floors until at least 7 pm to allow them to dry. I would definitely recommend Cleveland Hardwood Flooring. The finished product was excellent, the price was extremely competitive, and Zoltan and John were great to work with over the 4 days - installing and finishing hardwood floors is a laborious, tedious process, that could be extremely stressful to a family with 3 young boys; they worked around us, and kept us informed of their time-lines so we could work around them. My wife and I felt at ease throughout the entire process.

They were pretty friendly, but they don?t sand trim.

I spent around $1100 on the job. They were excellent. They were professional and punctual. Their cost was good. They were good. I will use them again in the future, if required.

We called Zoltan on a Saturday and he came over promptly on Sunday to give us an estimate. He knew exactly what type of wood flooring we had. The floors were in bad shape. We are not sure if they had ever been treated and they had black marks all over them. He was optimistic that they would look good when he was done and said that he would not recommend a stain because the wood was pine and would not absorb the stain evenly. We had 3 estimates and he was the only person that knew exactly what type of wood it was. Because it was pine, he recommended 2 coats of poly and 1 clear coat of stain. We were fortunate that he had an opening and could start the next day! It all went as planned. He and John got there timely, and completed the work in stages lasting only 3 days. The smell was minimal. The floors are beautiful - the refinishing brought out the beauty of the wood that we did not know was there. We had debated about carpet instead and we are very happy that we refinished the floors. The wood finish is very nice - not too shiny - and they sanded the floors perfectly. We had a lot of contractors in our home to make the 3rd floor livable. Out of them all (painter, electrician, insulation), Zoltan and John were the best. They were professional, hard-working, personable, and communicated with us at each stage. Their work product is terrific. We were not home when they did most of the work but we felt comfortable leaving them the key. Zoltan informed us when he was done each day and what progress he had made.

Very professional, great price. There was some cat damage on the floors and they did the best they could to minimize the appearance. Would hire them again.
