The work was done in two phases; the downstairs one week and the upstairs the next. Zoltan properly set expectations and kept promises every step of the way. He and his highly skilled crew arrived precisely when scheduled each day. They quickly and carefully moved the furniture into the garage and patio, and were able to complete most of the first sanding of four rooms and a closet by the end of the first day. The crew covered kitchen cabinets and appliances with plastic. The sanding process was surprisingly low in dust, and there was little dust when the process was complete. The stain and top coats were not overpowering. I was able to stay in the house while the work was being done without discomfort. I found Zoltan to be an excellent contractor. He was organized, stayed precisely on schedule, and ensured the crew produced an outstanding refinishing job. The floors look wonderful and positively glow. I would highly recommend Cleveland Hardwood Flooring, LLC to anyone for floor refinishing needs.

Great! They were always prompt in returning my emails, I had several questions about the process involved in the refinishing of my floors and my questions were always answered within an hour. They worked around my remodeling schedule which was very helpful. The crew was great, all my rooms and new cabinets were covered which cut down on any dust traveling through the house and when the job was complete the work area was spotless. My floor turned out BEAUTIFUL I couldn't be happier.

My biggest reason for not wanting my husband to strip the floors was because I knew he had no ability to control the dust that would be flying during the process. When I asked Mr. Onodi to come over and give us an estimate of the cost, I asked about how he would control the dust. I told him that a previous person who had also given a bid, had virtually guaranteed that there would be no dust left behind. Mr. Onodi said that he would do the best job humanly possible to prevent the dust, but he said it wasn't possible to guarantee no dust would be left behind. Because of watching little children in our home, I was not present when he did the work but instead watched the children in their home that day. I could just tell that Mr. Onodi was very trustworthy and, in fact, wrote him a check when I let him in and then was gone for the rest of the day. I still cannot believe how he was able to leave the premises. I think the rooms were cleaner than when he arrived--really. We are very happy for the excellent job he did. The staining and polying went along just fine.

Zoltan and his crew arrived early each day, worked their tails off every day. Our floors look amazing. These guys really know what they're doing. Zoltan is a great guy - honest, fair. No surprise charges. We will definitely be bringing them back to do our kitchen.

We are very pleased with all aspects of the project. They beautifully restored our 4 bedrooms and upstairs hallway. We have spent a lot of time fixing up our 1920's colonial and wanted a top notch job on the old oak floors. My wife is very picky but she was elated with the final outcome. I could not believe she had not one complaint, very rare for her. Zoltan and Janos were very professional and diligent through out the whole process. I highly recommend them.

Zoltan and his crew were punctual, courteous, flexible and delivered exactly what was promised on time and on budget! They were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Kept me well informed on the progress and had a great attitude! I wish all contractors performed the way they did, it would make renovating much less painful!

We removed the carpet in a bedroom and decided to see if we could get the floor refinished asap. Called Zoltan on a Saturday and he was at our house the next day to provide an estimate. The price was fair, the Angie's List reviews were good and Zoltan could schedule our job for the end of that week. A two-man crew came on Friday and finished on Saturday. They were very efficient and hard working guys, spent about three hours total at our home. Zoltan was very professional, promptly returned phone calls, stopped by on Friday to check on his crew, and followed up by phone after the job was done. The floor looks great and now we can move on with our redecorating project.

There is little doubt how Zoltan and his crew got the great ratings they did on the List. I could not be happier with the entire four day experience and the final product (a new oak floor) is just beautiful! Well mannered, prompt and clean. He offered many options and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each. The whole crew actually listened to what I was looking for and delivered in a major way. To top it all off, his bid was $200.00 less than the others. Thank you Zoltan and thank your great crew as well.

The floor is beautiful, just what we hoped for. We had them do the work while we were away and they were completely trustworthy and responsible. They even moved furniture for us and into the garage and than reinstalled it for no extra charge. During the job Zoltan kept us apprised of he progress through a series of text and photo messages which was very helpful. We were surprised that there was so much saw bust throughout the house, but Zoltan helping us clean it up asking his wife to work with us on it for a few hours.. In the process of installing the threshold they drove a nail through the internet cable which caused it to short out. It was purely accidental and they were responsive in helping us deal with the problem. Overall Zolton and his partner Thomas were very responsive and helpful. It was a pleasure working with them.

We got the quote and the price was very reasonable. They have done one bedroom so far and they are scheduled for August 10. They are knowledgeable on the different types of hardwood flooring. We have had other rooms refinished too and they were good at matching up the color with other floors. They kept the dust to a minimum and the work was well done. We went with them because they had a lot of good reviews. They were honest and upfront about their schedule.

A board in my hardwood flooring caved in in my bedroom, causing a safety hazard. When I found out that my brother and sister in law hired Zoltan to finish their hardwood floors and were very happy with the results, I called him to see if he could repair my floor. Zoltan was incredibly responsive. He told me he'd be on another job that next day and would be happy to swing by and assess the situation. Zoltan arrived on time, pulled out the damaged board, and within 15 minutes replaced and stained the replacement board. When I asked him what I owed him, he said there was no charge! He said it was such an easy fix that he couldn't take the $135 he had originally estimated based on our phone conversation. Naturally, I was thrilled!! Zoltan is incredibly polite, professional, and upbeat. I can't recommend him enough!

Zoltan and his men removed remaining heavy furniture, stripped carpeting, sanded, stained and applied the first coat of finish to the floors all in one day. They returned the next day to apply the second coat of finish and two days later carry the furniture back in. They were on time and sealed off the rest of the house as well as remembering to turn the air conditioning off to prevent dust from being pulled in.

Zoltan and his team refinished the floors in our home and brought them back to life. The home had previously been vacant for two years and the floors were in really rough shape. They were extremely scratched up and had dark stains in some rooms. I had met with several companies to refinish the floors and collect quotes. My husband and I wanted to keep the stain a lighter color on the floors and other companies advised me to just go with a dark stain to cover up the problem discolored areas on my existing floors. However, when I met with Zoltan he assured me that he would do everything he could to get out the existing stains and as a plan B the boards could be replaced so I could keep the floors light. It was very reassuring to know he wanted to make sure I was happy with the results. In the end the floors sanded down beautifully, so much so they gave me a choice between just a clear coat or a light stain. I was very impressed with their work ethic and level of professionalism. I have already asked them to do another project for us. I would highly recommend their services you won't be disappointed!

From the beginning to the end of this project, I was so very pleased! Zoltan is very knowledgeable and takes great pride in his work. He is professional, polite, and prompt. He and his two co-workers have a great work ethic and complete everything as promised. Zoltan took the time to explain what he would be doing during each step of the process, he gave excellent advice, and he made sure I was happy with each step completed. My floors look amazing!! This was a very good experience. Zoltan kept us informed about when to expect Tamas. Tamas is clearly a craftsman who takes pride in his work. He and his helper worked steadily and carefully. They were respectful of their surroundings and very pleasant. It is not always easy to work in our old building, but they handled the situation well. The instructions about when to walk on the floor were clear. They cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. Best of all, everyone who has seen the floor agrees it looks fantastic -- restored to its original beauty.

This business was recommended to me by an acquaintance of mine last fall. At that time I was not an Angie's List member, but I have recently joined so I wanted to share my experience. I feel as though Zoltan took advantage of the fact that I needed this room refinished before I moved in, and over charged me for the work that was done. That is how I felt then, but this is further reinforced now after reading other reviews and how much other people paid. But what was more disconcerting is the fact that he did not properly clean up afterwards, which is unprofessional. Specifically, he left a great deal of sawdust by my front door, spilled some type of oily chemical over my driveway, placed very heavily oil soaked rags in my garbage bin, and left me with bags of garbage. Most bothersome is the fact that I found a huge pile of sawdust dumped into a flower bed in the far back of my yard. Clearly he attempted to hide this so it would not be found right away. How unfortunate since I trusted him. What was also discovered after he was paid was that my 220V line for my stove was not working properly. He had used this electric line for power to his sanding drum. Update in response to Zoltan Onodi's answer: Unfortunately, you should not blame your workers. Angie's List members should know it was YOU and only YOU who performed the work in my house. I also contacted you via phone and left a message, but I did not hear back from you.

Zoltan was very professional and easy to work with. When he met me to give me an estimate for the job, he said the floors would turn out fantastic and they did. My phone calls were always promptly returned and he fit me in before the original date he had given me. He was able to suggest a stain color and show us a sample before the work was begun. The house where the work was done was a 1950's ranch. My siblings and I are getting ready to sell the house and decided to rip out the old carpeting and have the floors refinished. We all grew up in that house and most of the floors were always carpeted. We wanted to see what the actual floors looked like. We're glad we did. Everyone who has seen the floors say they look great!

Great service! Zoltan fit us in on short notice and did an excellent job. The boards were feathered in perfectly and they did worked around our needs. I would absolutely use them again.

I had removed the carpeting from my 89yo house to find hardwood floors underneath and they were a mess. I called Cleveland Hardwood Flooring on a Thursday and received a call back from Zoltan later that day. When we spoke, I gave him the room dimensions and he gave me a rough estimate depending on best or worst case scenario, although I knew mine were probably worst case. We met Friday morning at the house, and his guys were there on Saturday and Sunday. The floors came out looking great, I'm very pleased with the end result. I'll be honest, after reading through many of the positive, recent reviews and the good feeling I had after talking with Zoltan on the phone, I didn't call anyone else, and I have no regrets about that. If you need your hardwood floors refinished, I recommend giving them a call. I would definitely use them again.

I called four companies rated A from Angies list. Cleveland Flooring was the only one to respond. Owner, Zoltan Onodi, called me the next day and stated he was going on vacation for two weeks, but would call me when he returned. I wasn't expecting a return call. But he did?..exactly two weeks later. He came and gave me an estimate the same day, which I thought was fair, and finished the job three days later. Zoltan is one of the most pleasant contractors I've delt with. I'm going to call him again soon, as I've decided to have him do a small hallway. Highly recommend !!!!!

I called Cleveland Hardwood Floors hoping they could do my son's bedroom floor just after it was painted. After examining some digital photos of the floor, Zoltan Onodi was able to give me a quote and schedule the work with only a few days notice. Because I was on a tight schedule, I did not compare prices BUT my neighbor says the price was very competitive (plus the broken floorboard was fixed for free). The refinisher was also very careful to minimize damage to the freshly painted floor moldings and toe rail (Zoltan warned me that some was inevitable). The floor turned out beautifully - the finisher stained to match the rest of the house and finished with 3 coats of a natural clear satin finish. It looks beautiful!
