Schar Heating & Cooling is a fantastic company. They are extremely responsive when emergencies arise. Several times we have had desperate situations and they have always risen to the occasion. The techs are also courteous, honest, and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about this company.

The tech that arrived was very nice and professional and got to work right away, he listened very well to what I was describing was going on and what I thought was the issue. He tested all aspects of the system and reported to me what he found. He found the filter in the humidifier needed replaced and then found the relay was also bad. I had the filter replaced but waited on the relay for now. He cleaned up inside the unit downstairs and then went outside and cleaned the condensing unit and hosed it out all nice. He then came in and said that the reason the evaporator coils were freezing was due to being low on refrigerant, he also found a contact block that was starting to go bad, he gave me a price quote and I approved the total and he got to work and replaced the contact block and added the needed refrigerant. He then tested out the AC and heat and it all worked like a charm.

I called the Water Furnace maker in Indianna and asked for a recommended dealer to install a new Geo in our Medina home. We hAD AN OLDER gEO FURNACE THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT and I did not feel the orginal installer was competent to service the furnace. The water furnace mfg. recommended 3 dealers close to my Medina location, Schar Heating and cooling was the closest dealer and I called them for an estimate. The price was fair. the installers were factory trained. they were excellent! the furnace works beautifully and Schar Heating and cooling services the Geo annually and I would recommended them anytime to anyone. I did recommended them to our son and they did excellent work for them also.

We have used them for at least 5 years. Last year when the weather was very hot, we had an emergency call, and they were very timely. Their charge is not out of line. They have very good quality, and I trust them. I know the owners and I trust them. They are very timely, and very professional.

Schar did a great job! Let me start by explaining I had a previous horrific experience with an hvac contractor because I had a home warranty and had to use who they choose. The bad contractor replaced my air handler with a system that was not compatible with my heat pump. The warranty company would not correct the mistake. A year later my system failed in the winter. I contacted Schar since they are factory certified with Carrier to fix the mess the previous hvac home warranty contractor created. They first sent someone on a repair call who spent a few hours trying to get the system working so I would have heat. My old system configuration was a mess. He came up with a work around by passing the heat pump which I greatly appreciated. It's cold in OH during February. The salesman inspected my system quoted me options for the heat pump and was very honest. It took a little more than a week to get the work completed because they had to order a special part for the air handler that was installed incorrectly by the home warranty provider. Schar fixed my system and corrected all the mistakes the home warranty contractor created. They called after the service was completed and provided great follow up service. I was extremely satisfied with the clean up, promptness, professionalism, etc. I would definitely use Schar again and will never purchase another home warranty.
